Hi. Thanks for the amazing episode. Sean is brilliant. Why dont you bring Pete Blaber into the studio to talk about the Pre-Anaconda ER/SR and his book The Mission, The Men and Me?

Fantastic job, guys. Sean’s experience covers almost all of our recent conflicts and it was super interesting to get his take on it. I’ll be picking up his book.

Spoke to Mr. Naylor at Wright Patterson AFB. He briefly discussed the beef between AF SPEC OPS and SEALs over the Takur Ghar incident. Listened to “Mike Drop”podcast. A guest, former SEAL on the podcast speak of a fist fight at Bagram between him and the commander of the AF SPEC OPS during Operation Anaconda. The fight was over the Chapman incident.

Fantastic, gents. NSW topic gets spicy, but I don’t know a person who has worked with them in some form or fashion that doesn’t have some stories.

Roberts Ridge on Takur Ghar- Once the SEAL/BLUE brass essentially took the positional authority from Slab (forcing the insertion vs sliding 24hrs offset) the fate was set. The peak was crawling with AQ fighters, and if they would have taken the time and effort to get a proper passdown from Blaber this tragedy could have been averted 100%. Slab and Chappy did the best they could with what they had on that peak. Never forget.

No, being a 'big believer' that flying helicopters into an observation point was not a lesson learned from Somalia (managing helo risk) or even a debatable opinion...it is a basic well-known fact. The decision to land a helo there was about the dumbest decision made. The second dumbest is a toss up between no rehearsals, not bothering to contact the other elements prior to take off or reading any of the reports that the other OPs had sent

It's too bad there's bad attitudes like that among different groups in the military. Really immature. If anyone deserves criticism for what happened is the the one whose bad judgment ordered the ops to be done in the way they were.

Per Pete Blaber's book, that would be General Dell Dailey, who ordered the infiltration by helicopter on the.OP and whose name is always so insulated when discussing Roberts Ridge Slabinski and Chaan and the Rangers getting shot up.

"Assange is neither a citizen nor a resident of the U.S., and the laws of the U.S. do not apply to him." But the U.S. is above the law, whatever and wherever this concept is discussed or fantasized.

This was a good episode but it was tough to get through it with the way this guy talks. Just not a very good verbal story teller. More ummms and ahhhhs than I’ve ever heard lol. Still a great episode and props on improving the audio. Good shit.
