Sean Penn is rarely mentioned on the greatest actors list but at the reminder of his name it is always followed up with "oh yay". Why is it we forget about him and then suddenly remember his stunning performances only to foget him again until that list comes around again?

Sean Penn...in my not so humble opinion....is the greatest actor of his generation.

Unfortunately it is unlikely that Oldman and Day-Lewis will get an AFI Lifetime Achievement award. They are British actors and this is the AFI, honoring American talent. The worst bit is that I don't think the BFI even do a lifetime achievement award.

Penn use to think he was a tough guy, a friend told me that he watched his friend whoop his ass up & down new york, penn shoved him on a line to get in a club when he did not apologize he got his ass beat, I'm sure he's chilled out since than.

He's versatile as anyone - the only thing ive never seen him do is true action and who gives a flying fuck about that. He's the real deal: Carlito's Way, Deam Man Walking, Milk.... he even stole the show in the stuff he did as a much younger guy.

However there have been two exceptions - Hitchcock and Sean Connery (though he's Scottish). Correct me if there have been more.
