The virtue signalling of Christchurch Council is what you expect from councils these days.. Its a pity councils can't show the same urgency and regard to their rate-payers.
CITY council, city only, leave the big stuff to those elected to do the big stuff. Just concentrate on getting the rates down, that should keep you busy enough

So Christchurch council thinks that it has the right to decide for nzer's our stance on anything that will then draw criticism on the country as a whole.... well to me that seems they are well over stepping their job description. Who are they to decide anything on our behalf.... they are our employees, and like any employee that does not toe the line they should be sacked
Why can't Israel have a tiny dot of land when the Muslim world spreads all the way from West Africa to New Guinea. Note; 20% of the Israeli population is Muslim, Israel shares its lands with Muslims - and Muslims have 25% of Jerusalem as well....

CCC should keep its world politics out of its affairs. What happens there should not affect the citizens of Christchurch. I do however feel you are wrong sean. Isreal is an aircraft carrier for the US.
Councils are a law unto them selfs. They compete as to which one can waste the most rate payers money. In Hawera we have a new library that was never needed. New rubbish bins have been issued, when most people already had one. Thousands of dollars wasted. In the case of the library millions of dollars wasted. We the rate payers are Libel for this debt.
You have got the story confused Sean, it was not a worker at the vineyard, but was at a later visit to a business that the minister visited and without provocation began belittling a worker who was working late there.
