"SEARCH" Hugh O'Brian Closing

Hugh O'Brian was the American version of James Bond. Suave, debonair, tough, and equally ready to fight or charm the ladies, he had the right stuff. "SEARCH" was the perfect series for his talents. Unfortunately, the ratings in the US did not allow him more than nine episodes to show them off.
Ironically, this very American series was even more popular in the rest of the world. It has been rerun many times in places like Australia and Ireland. But, after its first airing, it has never been seen again in the US.
The music arrangement in this closing is an alternative version to what was heard normally throughout the rest of the series.

We like it very much when Mr. Hugh O'Brian and Queen Soriya were a nice item, so to speak. God bless them both.

The score was written by Dominic Frontiere, who also wrote the scores for Silent Force, Chopper, Vega$, and Strike Force.

0:47 - Very rare back in 1972 to have a jingle for the Warner Bros. TV logo...it usually had the theme song's ending or silence.

And now the audio is missing so an not hear which makes other show viewers here before July 15, 2020 lucky.

@@mrtelevision I saw this today and somehow it came on. Later there was a Warner Brothers theme one with the Time Goes By one with a horn that was shows like the last seasons of Full House.

@@williamstebbins7294that was actually from the movie logo that debuted in 1999; the 1998 75 Years movie and the 1998 75 Years WBTV logo had its original jingle. it was adapted for television in late 2003 for episode 7 of the first season of the show The OC, while the first WB tv show to use it for real was Two and a Half Men. Some shows like Run in the House and All About the Andersons used an abridged version of As Time Goes By theme.

'Search' is available on DVD from the Warner Archive collection, which has all the episodes on multiple DVDs.

I had no idea the producer of The Untouchables had been an assistant director on Search. The thing that strikes me about this show is that what seemed like science-fiction at the time seems almost common place on NCIS.

Nice that the original Warner Brothers logo was not plastered like on the DVD set of Wonder Woman. Mostly the one from the 50's and 60's westerns and others shows from that were not and I saw the Kinney shield l was not either.

I'm surprised that this was a Warner Bros. production, as most of NBC's hour-long dramas seemed to be produced by Universal at the time.

That is also probably why it was cancelled when a Universal series would have received a second season.

I recognize the name from when a fan of Mission Impossible who was also of this show said he wrote some stories for the show that could have made it be on longer.
