The 6'5 guy who had hidden firearms in his flat seems to be a pretty scary guy. I wouldn't want to come across him on a bad day. And the police team who went in were unarmed. That's not a good thing. The police were in decent numbers but the arrestee could have done a lot of damage if he'd wanted to. He had a proper revolver and some ammo in his flat. He also had time to load it if he'd wanted to. Thankfully he went peacefully and was willing to accept his fate. He was also realistic and philosophical about it. "Accept it or drive yourself mad thinking what ifs."

I have no idea what cable TV is. We don’t have it in my country. However l totally agree about your comment on RU-vid. I’m totally addicted to RU-vid. With all the crisis going on in the world - RU-vid is my escape. We live totally off the grid, in the bush. We go into town to socialise at the cafes, not because we need to. Thankfully we have a great internet and satellite service due to all the coast guard towers around us. We have better service now, than we had living in a city.

I have been arrested over 60 times from 25 years as a drug addict and my worst crimes were stealing from shops to pay for my habit. I am 4 years clean. do I deserve to be in Prison for the rest of my life? no that is stupid and the jails would be even more full than they are now. I have done 8 years of my life in Prison which I think is more than enough for what I did.

Its quite funny, i know most these coppers, coldharbour site nxt door to the travellers site, its just up the road from Maidstone, Kent! My home town, born & bred Maidstone gal! Did I understand correctly the guy who committed an armed robbery, found to have heroin, and a loaded gun is only looking at 5yrs? MY GOD, I'm moving to Britain and becoming a criminal.

No. Possession of a firearm is a minimum 5 year sentence. He got 8 for the gun and the drugs. Had he got done for the robbery and the violence at the original job, would have been more.
