Searching for New Locations - Landscape Photography

In this video I take a local trip to a Boat Graveyard not far from where I live - I wanted to share five tips that I tend to use, when I'm searching for new Locations, and how I tend to explore them as well.
All whilst trying to avoid being cut off by the incoming tide... (I didnt get it on film)... But I was cut off!!

Great tips Neil, I love a local nature reserve, especially for some macro shots, they usually have some preserved areas for wild flowers, great photos as always. Get you vlogging through a residential area 👍🏻. I agree with you about just getting out because you just don’t know what’s there until you get there.

Cheers mate... Local areas are definitely underrated, I think because we live there, we don't appreciate what we've got at times. Haha - I was actually filming in that Residential area, and came across some people - I was so far into the piece, that I thought.. "Sod it... I'll keep recording"... I mentioned how proud I was to be able to keep recording 😂 but ended up cutting it out, as the original edit was over 30mins of waffle

People don’t generally care your vlogging, we care more than them. They pay a passing glance and move on with their day l, while we think about it forever 😂

You're right about that... Although was setting up, to do some B-Roll for a future video last night, and a lady did stop and ask what I was doing out of curiosity 🤣

Hi Neil hope you're well, another great video and images, I'd like to visit the boat graveyard sometime. We joined the national trust a few years ago, which has given me a great source of photo opportunities, and also great when going on holiday. After 30 plus years of photography I find it very difficult to find places locally that I haven't photographed many times so these days I try and find different perspectives/viewpoints. Yeah I'm beginning to find that with Locations around me too... there is only so many times that you can go back there, and it gets too easy, too boring and repetitive. Its ridiculous how many abandoned boats there are around the Medway River, great for me as a Photographer to go and find them though 👍👍
