Hey, congrats! You'll love the Leon Valley area, so much to do around there and really central to everything else in the city. Happy to be a resource, please let us know if we can help with anything!
You should come out and explore Cibolo and New Braunfels. So you can make a video on Northern outskirts of San Antonio. There is so much growth here and it’s close to Randolph AFB. Great location between San Antonio and Austin! Great schools and safe area which is why we chose here! Great videos.
Also, yeah Alamo Heights is a very coveted neighborhood. When I took Education classes at UIW, I learned that the AH School district, they NEVER hired first year teachers and tend to scout for teachers, looking for the 'best of the best'. So education wise, Alamo Heights is a very good school district because you're definitely getting good quality teachers.
North side warning: Traffic builds up at the 1604 horribly. So traffic is much easier if you don’t have to cross it. It’ll add 15-20 minutes to your commute.
Thanks for tuning in! Yeah, the growth out here is really something. There's entirely new communities and suburbs that popped up just in the last 6yrs that my family and I have lived here!
Haha very nice video, thanks for posting. Grew up in "the alamo city", moved abroad permanently back in the late 80's. Interesting to see how much it has all changed and grown since then.
Omg 😱, for a guy from a different state who is in love with San Antonio there really isn’t many videos on this beautiful city. But thank you 🙏 for making a video and taking your time and explaining. I can’t lie there is a lot of people bashing San Antonio and it is puzzling 🤔, so if anyone have a clue please let me no. But to be honest I’m coming from a city smaller and has the same amount of crime. But sadly to say we are segregated really bad we’re I’m from and I just had it. But I’ll be coming down in a couple of days to see for my self. 🤞🤞🌹
I was actually born in the medical center area before it technically became the medical center- Methodist Hospital. Man I remember when the Northwest side started to get more populated. I remember when La Cantera was being built, which was in the late 90s when I was in HS. One time my family was trying to get to Fiesta Texas, but due to the new roads, we accidentally ended up in La Cantera lol. I am glad you mentioned the Dominion area because I know that's where some famous San Antonians (like Spur Players) have their homes there. I always think the Dominion is SA's version of Beverly Hills lol. @13:55- Uhh you made a bit of a mistake here. You ended up combing the Japanese Tea Gardens with the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. They're 2 different places. I can see you were focusing more on Japanese Tea Garden though. Southside is very different depending on where you live. Southeast side you're more likely to find a bigger population of African Americans, where as South Central, you'll find more Hispanics. My first college was Palo Alto College on the Southside and I wager over 70% of the students there were Hispanic (I am blonde, I felt like a fish out of water at times there lol).
That's how my family and I did things too. We vacationed here a couple times a year for a while and really fell in love with the city. When you thinking about making the move?
@@SanAntonioTexasLiving we actually have vacation planned for this coming June and I’ma apply at some places and hope I get a couple interviews. We hoping the house market here in California keeps going up so our equity grows more
Gotcha! We're actually in talks with a number of people coming out of California about making the move and going over details for a smooth transition. We'd be happy to help with planning things out. Were you open to connecting sometime in the next week or so?
Hi. I just called your phone & left a message. I’m fixing to visit SATX within the next 2 months or so & also looking into moving out there. I left my cell number hope to hear from you soon thanks. Aloha from Oahu Hawai’i!
Great info. Looking to move from Connecticut. I have a 6 year old. Looking for a great school district, young families not too far from downtown 30 to 35 mile radius. Also an upbeat neighborhood
SA is a great city for families with young kids with lots of things to do. The nice thing about the highways here is you can get just about anywhere in 30mins. Feel free to reach out anytime at 210.510.9444 when you're ready to have a more in depth conversation about the various communities here.
You are very thorough and knowledgeable of Texas we are thinking about moving from Cali to Texas. We are looking at the San Antonio we have a friend in San Antonio. Can you tell us something about Converse and Windcrest.
Both of those areas have a lot of affordable new construction. The soil types are more expensive in several areas on that side of town though, so there tends to be more foundation movement over time. When were you thinking about moving?
@@SanAntonioTexasLiving Not till end of the year. Were not looking for a big home. Maybe 2/2.. was looking for a Senior Community, but not necessarily. Just a comfortable area close to Amenities.
The far west side of San Antonio has a couple of 55+ communities that we've helped people into. We usually recommend folks reach out to our team within 6 months or so of the move if they'd like to start getting more detailed info about the area. We'll be here when you're ready😃
Good info. But can you please let us know what areas to avoid? I moved to Denver a few years ago, and we hate it here, too much crime, and bad weather. We are from Texas and want to move back. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment! Both areas have seen a ton of growth in the 6yrs we've been here and they're both great places to live. Were you considering a move to either?
Hey what about buying or renting land I own a semi truck and interested in some land to build on to park my truck and trailer where would be the best place to look ? Good video by the way very helpful thanks so much 👍
Great places to look would be in South San Antonio just South of Hwy 90, further out West near Castroville/Medina Lake, or further North near Hwy 46 in Spring Branch/Bulverde. You'll find things are more rural in those areas with fewer HOA's and fewer restrictions.
We usually recommend folks check out the Far West, North West, and Far North sides of San Antonio for the best schools in the newest suburbs. Those areas will have you in Northside ISD and North East ISD, which are the two highest rated districts in the city. This video right here goes into those areas in greater detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5P7ydA0FlX4.html Were you considering a move soon?
I live about hour out from s.a would you recommend getting a apartment or just renting a home ? I'm trying get nw,n,ne side mainly the n or nw I'd like to be
@@SanAntonioTexasLiving well iam just thinking about it and i work in tourism but stoped(covid) was thinking about it iam latino single and like latino places was wondering if its safer than vegas or worse
Tourism is a big part of our economy and while it was down a bit in 2020, like most everywhere, San Antonio remained wide open for business for most of the last year. We've helped a number of people in tourism, hospitality, and service positions make the move out here from all across the country. We get a lot of questions about safety in SA & I addressed it in this video👇🏾 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UJB82aFdcdQ.html
The nearest beaches would be in Corpus Christi, Rockport, & Port Aransas. They're all about 2.5hrs away and a lot of San Antonians make their way down to the coast for holidays, vacations, or long weekends.
It's a very car dependant city for the most part. There are some neighborhoods closer to the core of the city that are more walkable/bikable, but I'd really say you need a car overall unless you're living closer to downtown.
As a city we're fortunate enough to benefit from a wide range of diversity. With all of the tourism, military bases, and growth we've experienced I'm proud to say that San Antonio is home to many people of varying nationalities, backgrounds, and cultures.
