The Three Stooges are iconic both on the big screen and on Television. They are one of the greatest comedy teams of all kind. I have decided to run through some interesting facts, bloopers, flubs, production notes, and HARD TO BELIEVE INFORMATION! I am starting with the first short and moving through the line. This was one of the episodes that was played when we saw Moe at his personal appearance , he told us about breaking ribs in that fall you showed us. He also mentioned that Larry was from Philadelphia, who was still alive at the time. I think everyone in the audience knew that

Wow. I knew from reading his autobiography that Moe and the others had suffered for their art as far as injuries were concerned, but I never knew THIS was the short where he broke his ribs. First reaction is OUCH. The second is "What a trouper", cause I don't think I could have stayed in character while in that much pain.

+Charles Moran interestingly, they did have stuntmen for more risky physical feats but they always tried to do most of their own work when possible. Here is an instance that turned out badly!

Hugh respect for Moe Horowitz (Howard) for doing his own stunt and completing the scene. You can see where they either cut the scene or they edited out a few frames then continued. I'm thinking Curley and Larry probably were legitimately concerned, director asked if he was okay, etc.

Rick! Good video! I just want to give a shout-out to the character actors who added so much to the Stooges shorts. In this one, Billy Gilbert plays the first of many pompous singers that the Stooges skewer. Billy Gilbert was in "Men in Black" with the Stooges and, during this period, he did wonderful work with Laurel and Hardy, Charley Chase, and with Thelma Todd and Patsy Kelly over at the Hal Roach Studio. It is Billy Gilbert who launches a tirade when Laurel and Hardy deliver a piano in "The Music Box", L&H's Academy Award short. Billy Gilbert went on to play Sneezy in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and reached his most famous moment in "The Great Dictator", with Charlie Chaplin. Keep up your very good work!

Another blooper you missed is if you pause at 4:23, you can see the string used to pull the banana, since this clip was played backwards.

+terrance bigham Correct. Also, Scotch being an incorrect term for a Scottish person but also doubling for the alcoholic drink, Scotch. They had really creative writers!

first, moe discusses the broken ribs in his autobioraphy he wrote in 1974. it was pretty well known by now. second, it's not a blooper but an accident. it happens. a blooper is when someone says something they shouldn't have or forget their lines. the other stuff wasn't bloopers. and you didn't even give props to billy gilbert as the tenor with the banana in his mouth.
