Season 1 Old fortnite gameplay from the good old days, 2017 fortnite battle royale. When i was a noob who didn't build anything lol. Please Subscribe and like thanks :)
seeing the old movement and way ppl used to play brings a joy to me i cant explain. like how ppl would run away from fights, and hide behind buildings and just wait lol.
yeah, I miss those days, zero build doesn't feel the same without building, I remember building just a simple box and sitting out of the middle of the map was the scariest shit but you knew you were good cause like 10% of the players knew how to build a wall lmao, I wish we could go back to those golden times, I wish fortnite's community didn't have to ruin the gameplay with having to worry if you were "good" or not. Like let me have fun, I ain't trying to get carpel tunnel from worrying about cranking the perfect 90's just to get one singular kill..
Never underestimate simplicity. I get that they like adding a bunch of shit and being creative. But old fortnite felt a bit more real when it was limited.
Asteria may have diffrent and „creative locations”, but c’mon, there are only 3 Real places to live there and the place is mishmash of diffrent biomes. Who thought the jungle was a good idea?
Fortnite would have died years ago if they didn't make these changes. Back when this video was taken, we didn't have any mobility outside running and maybe shopping carts. Can't remember when we got those, but that was it. If you were caught far from the circle it was over. Just an example of good changes.
@@bdgreyI get what you're saying but at some point they kept adding too many changes to how the game was played in 2017/early 2018 to the point where it wasn't as much of a survival game but rather how you can manipulate all the stuff they added
No toxic kids No mechs No overpowered weapons No sweats No hackers No raging No popular weapons vaulted Double Pump A developing team that listened to the community This was Fortnite... What happened?
Every time I die and get sent back to the lobby the current lobby music plays. It’s so annoying and it sounds like cancer, it reminds me of shit. I want the old music back, It would bring back so much memories for so many players
@@luvdvno It's a combination of nostalgia but also how vague and simple the game was when it launched. No crazy skins or locations to land, chill lobby music & menu, the unknown factor etc... Plus it was also the first polished Battle Royale game.
No backround in lobby, everyone is a default, no one built, colours were good, music was soooo good, camping in bushes, og locations, og storm. Damn im gonna cry i miss season 1-3
“Music was so good” are you serious? The sound in fortnite seasons 1-3 was unbearable. I literally couldn’t play the game because it made me sick. Y’all can’t appreciate good graphics and sound if it smacked you in the face
They should make different fortnite games depending on the season so you could buy fortnight season 0 the way through 14 and get everything from that season and only what that Season had
I played back when the game first launched, and this was how I remember it being. I quit after season 5, which was the point where I felt the game was straying a bit too far from its original vision. After playing a few rounds recently, I much prefer how the game used to be. - fights felt more intense. The weapons hit hard, and mistakes were punished heavily. There were no revives, and no easy way to heal yourself or escape from battle. - good positioning was more rewarded. Very few people would ever build, and those that did would usually commit heavily to a large endgame structure designed to protect them from the last dozen or so players. Because the build mechanics weren’t so commonplace, having the high ground or some good cover would give you a strong advantage. Running through an open area felt risky. - weapons were simpler. They did exactly what you expected them to. There were no gimmicks, and every weapon had its role. - movement was simpler. There was no sliding, parkour, shockwaves, hammers, or rifts. You had to commit to fights, and plan your movements based on the storm circle. Jump pads were rare, and you always wanted to get the most value from them. - skins were simpler. There were no crossovers. Every skin simply felt like a different version of an existing in game skin, because it was. They looked like they fit in the game, and they made sense. - using unique tactics was rewarded. I’ve watched some footage of modern gameplay, and it feels like all anyone does is trap their opponent in a box, edit a hole in the wall and then shotgun them to death. When they’re under attack, they build pointlessly massive structures. I remember the very first game I ever won, where I found dozens of spike traps over the course of the game, and covered every surface of a house with them to prevent the other guy from entering, forcing him to stay out in the storm. You don’t see plays like that anymore.
These were the good old days. Not just because of Fortnite, but because Covid didn't exist, there wasn't a huge war, and I was a kid. This song makes me want to cry because all of that is lost in time. I can never have that feeling of logging on to Fortnite and hearing that music. But I always got to remember that I need to be glad that I even got that feeling.
you can litteraly hear birds chirping in the backround for so long until you get into a shootout. i love and miss all of it and i would do anything to get the simplicity back and not have what we have now❤
People still get that wonderful excitement when they hear a chest in Chapter 2. It still happens. I think you progressed from that by getting comfortable with the game, and as you kept playing, that feeling of excitement was gone for you. Everybody who just started playing the game gets that feeling.
When u look at the game rn, it feels so futuristic with all these new additions and weapons. Tbh the sweats don't bother me much but the fact that the UI design + Map design got so complex that its the main reason why I stopped.
I miss old fortnite when no one would sweat at building, but now if i shoot once at someone they will build a five story hotel with free bloody wi-fi..
@@TUIfly737xI wish there was a way to play this version again maybe there is and we don’t know or maybe epic games will bring it back one day highly doubt that though
In when I started (season 3) I wss like son of a b_&÷&! Because it would always end in when the 6:32 sound effects I keep on trying to cry because it was creepy. The storm alarm also gave me chills 6:40.😭😭😭
I remember being told by a buddy in late 2017 to try this "new game" he found. I just got off of work at the time didn't bother settling down, just hopped on xbox and downloaded fortnite to give it a try. Needless to say, I spent 5 hours late at night of straight playing. There was something magical about fortnite beta that you just can't replicate. Rip to the OG days!
there was and thats what my friend said to lol it just felt magical and different yet simple. Tbh i dont blame sweats i blame epic. what made the game was because it was simple and there wasnt a lot of stuff and there were changes but i didnt effect the core. Now there is a completely differnet map and the colors dont look the same and it just feels different in a bad way. I wish it would go back
@@welneker3723 same can be said about call of duty. Look at it now. Its its finest hour of decline. All games are going downhill bit never doubt. They will get back up.
@@loganstark1783 wailing woods, early 2018 squad died and my friend at 15 ho danced in front of the enemy, didnt get killed pulled out smg and did him, didn't finnish him and left to kill his squad
*Fortnite Seasons* from my experience: *Season 1:* Things were so much more simpler, all people wore default and map was as simple as cube. Nobody ever built anything, it was a beginning to a cultural phenomenon, and we never expected it to be as popular as it is today. Community at the time wasn't as cancerous as now and long live the OG music. It was fun and simple, love it. *Rating: 8/10* *Season 2:* Probably the best season in my opinion, it changed and revolutionised Fortnite in a good way. It added Battle Pass, severe map changes, weapons and new game modes. This is where Fortnite was increasing in popularity. *Rating: 10/10* *Season 3:* Fortnite at this time was on its peak. Unfortunately, immature kids were joining at the time, and some people were being tryhards. This is when building became popular, and this is when it became useful to most of the players. They changed the music, weapons and some map modifications, but also new modes. Not bad indeed, but there was some room for improvements. *Rating: 7/10* *Season 4:* Not quite good, thus not what I expected. Added weapons which were unbalanced, removed some of the greatest locations, and this is when small kids stole mom credit cards to buy Fortnite skins. This is when people took tryharding to the extreme, and built 9/11 towers if they heard shooting. It was pretty average, and not as memorable as other 3. *Rating: 5/10* *Season 5:* It was similar to Season 4 in many ways. They at least tried to differentiate by adding new weapons and vehicles. It just felt bland and boring. Not much to say here, read season 4 for season 5. Continuation of Season 4. It did however improve from season 4 in some ways. Adding on, season 5 removed some of the most memorable locations. *Rating: 6/10* *Season 6:* It was unexpectedly good and was fun. They really changed Fortnite in a good way. Music was customizable, thank god, battle pass was probably one of the best and they added new great locations plus vehicles. A lot of exciting things happend, and they added skins which we all loved, thus new and creative game modes. *Rating: 7/10* This took 30 minutes of my life to write this post, which probably is gonna get ignored. 😥
It’s crazy how this simple game brought friends together and once the game felt completely different it seemed your buddies went their separate ways. Even though multiple battle Royales has came out since this game launched; nothing can beat what this game originally was and what it did in the gaming community. And for that I and know most are forever thankful a random cartoony game was able to touch our hearts the way it did.
dude so true. i had the best group that i would alwaysss play with, every morning before school and everyday after school. i'd do anything to re live that
@@phlegm5596 If u don't like fortnite anymore is bcs u play this game so much that u r bored, so what u have to do is to pick 4 game exemple (Pubg, fortnite, warzone, Apex legends) now when u r bored of fortnite u play warzone and when u bored of warzone u play apex legends and when u bored of apex then play Pubg, and over again
I still remember my 1st win ever .. over in the woods by greasy Grove I started chain firing my snow ball rocket launcher at the guys base and snuck one out
@@terminatortr06 I just remember playing this all day after school with my friends till like season 7 when my friends didn’t like it too much but I still played it till summer of 2019 and then I stopped and barely played, the good memories tho of when it started getting popular
I remember when I was 8-9 I would always be begging my parents for an Xbox 1 so I could play Fortnite. Because at the time I had a ps3 and ps3’s didn’t let you play Fortnite on them. I would also go to a place at the mall near my area and play Fortnite on the consoles at this place in the mall where they let you pay a certain amount of money to play a certain amount of hours on the Xbox’s. And I would just enjoy my time playing Fortnite. And then I would always get upset when I had to leave. But I eventually got an Xbox 1 when I was 9-10. And I remember getting Fortnite for the first time on it. And just playing the game for the rest of that day. Now I’m 14 and I have a pc now and barely ever play Fortnite anymore. I miss the old days.
Omg this brings back so much memories, i remember when i was 8 and 7 and i just got lego star wars for the ps4 and fortnite save the world. I remember playing with my best friend not knowing a storm was a thing and just walking around in a purple void. I remember getting shot and being scared so i just jumped off a cliff and i was sliding down the cliff and still died, which isnt what the game behaves right now, only save the world. I remember not knowing how to hold the controller because my hands were too small😂😂..... i remember.... Thank you so much for bringing me back into those good old times of fortnite!
Juicy Eggrolls I actually haven’t been playing for one week I’ve been actually been playing since season 1 if I remember correctly and if it wasn’t it was season 2 I just personally think that it would be worse because of how empty the original map was
I haven’t played since maybe 2019 but this is how I remember fortnite, the map, the locations, the sounds, the simplicity, the friends, the memories, unbelievable time for gaming, I miss prime fortnite
back when the game was enjoyable...now every time i shoot a bullet my opponent builds the empire state building in 0.3 seconds....and then headshot snipes me... Fun.
I used to leave my TV on and fall asleep to the music on the game back then 😭. Silly but good times. Nothing will ever compare to season 0-3 of Fortnite.
This video is a piece of history now. Definitely going to always miss this game in 2017 - 2018 and a bit of 2019 especially during its prime year in 2018. Fortnite came out when I was in grade 7 and now I’m going into grade 12. Time flies man... 😞
I remember being in art class in 7th grade and all the kids were talking about fortnite so I decided to try it and I would have so much fun. I would play with some of my online friends and some of my irl friends. It was so enjoyable when no one knew what they were doing. If only they introduced no build sooner.
