Won't always be that way, I built this assuming everything is working as intended. Even if it's only 8%, that is constant dmg bonus when attack targets at any HP, versus getting 16% only when they are below 50% HP like for emeralds. An extra 16% dmg down the road is something to look forward to but the type of spear gem you use doesn't make too much of a difference when considering all the other ways to buff dmg. For the boltcaster, they may get those first 1-2 shots off but with good avoidance and blocking you can close the distance and get after those builds. The high thrust resistance is more for protecting against other spears since we will have similar cooldowns when fighting Spartan vs Spartan. Sword heavies are really powerful, so mitigating that dmg is important when going S v S. Just adjust the jewelry gems to get more of what you want. This is just what I run to counter the builds I want to be strong against.

Yeah, just go tumbler shoes in a medium setup. Like the S2/S3 Spartan

@@BlastSR It's looking like medium armor or maybe even light armor is the way to go for Season 5. Heavy armor will still be good but not at every engagement like it was in S3/S4. Each Season introduced a new way to tune the Spartan build for a specific playstyle. You could apply any of the knowledge from those build videos to whatever you want to run in S5. The goal was to show the fundamentals and what critical paths you take for creating a build.

Depends on what you prioritize fighting against and what playstyle you want. If you are engaging mages with bbs than yeah EW/EA makes more sense. I like shirking heals/shirking fort because in ALL situations it is useful. It may not be as directly powerful at mitigating a specific damage type. If you were going to run tower shield and play more of a traditional block build than EW/EA makes way more sense.

@@Krotha one more question: the pvp track armor, is that a good way to get a double shirking set?

@@jahloveinfla I think crafting is your best bet. I think it's just 1 chromatic seal to guarantee a level 700, 2 perk piece. You may get lucky on the third perk. New World changed the track gear perks a while back so it is likely possible to get the perks you want but I think if you are going to use a chromatic seal to change the perks on track gear you might as well use it to craft and get 700 gear and 2 perks you want.

Nothing wrong with slotting a gem. It will give you overall more consistent damage. The trenchant will allow for you to throttle dmg but requires that heavy attack to land to be effective

@@Krothaif I drop skewer, id have to find another way to get bleed going and dont want to give up my current weapon perks :/. Im not using butcher yet, so that might be an option.

I would pidgeon -hole yourself to only being able to play with sweep. Make the adjustment and put the reps in to practice playing without it. Otherwise you will continue to be dependent on it!@@willfulmisfortune3679

you definitely could, just be careful of the stamina management. all energizing runeglass on gear, stamina recovery necklace should do the trick. for armor check out the double defense gear from the glacial tarn expedition, comes with enchanted AND elemental aversion. I swapped to medium for the current new world build. still shirking fort setup with leeching cyclone and fortifying perforate on the gear ideally. get slash or fire conditioning on gear and stack thrust resistance on gems spear is enfeebling skewer, atunement, keenly jagged and sword is butcher with trenchant rend. if I was going to play heavy, i would use this season 4 setup. and then make some minor adjustments for stam sustain and the defensives perks I mentioned above. let me know if this is helpful, wish I could make a new video but with the state of the game in NW not really worth. you can ofcourse reach out to me on discord if you still need help!

I'ts not about stacking, it's about having constant pressure. There are instances where it is more efficient to stay on your spear to keep a good tempo of attacks going out, so you want to still have that bleed. The keenly jagged bleed counts as a debuff for extra 10% bonus dmg on spear. When you use skewer, there's the skewer bleed (+ 10%) the weaken from enfeeble (+10%) and if you crit the keenly jagged bleed (+10%) and an additional 20% from skewers empower. If you dodge enough attacks at once post skewer, you can get another 26% empower, so now 46% empower + %30 bonus into your perforate and cyclone. So all that dmg unloaded onto a target with full stacks of rend. Fighting on spear is also more stamina efficient, so when I am outnumbered I like being able to apply keenly jagged on as many players as possible since the bleed duration will be high. As I swap between different targets, a persistent bleed applied by any of the basic attacks or abilities criting allows for always having that bonus damage.

Sounds like great armor perks for weapons that don't involve spear. Spear synergizes too well with the shirking buffs due to all the cooldown reductions and access to efficient dodging.@@Dedal123456

I don't use just one build. I'm demonstrating the different levers you can pull to adjust your playstyle and what you want out of it. Last video the differences were in attributes, with the gear not changing much. This video the attributes are set, and a handful of perks are being adjusted to sway your build towards one playstyle over the other. Shirking heals and shirking fort pieces typically need to be crafted together. There are a few named pieces but for the most part you craft. You can guarantee these 2 perks relatively cheap.@@100lineadx8
