Season 8 For AoE4 Is FINALLY Here 

I was really hoping for a "Guard" stance for troops. Where you set a group of soldiers to stand guard over more vulnerable units (seige). That way they don't go rushing off to attack a Ferocious Farm or Lethal Lumber Camp and leave your bombards and tres buckets vulnerable to attack.

@Aussie_Drongo stone wall bastion is the “corner” piece. If you destroy that part, the hole isn’t big enough for big units like rams to get through. So I’m guessing the two segments next to the corner will be destroyed now

fun fact: The Yumi Ashigaru +5 health buff in feudal means Gilded horsemen will no longer kill them in 2 hits, they will now need 3 hits in feudal. (still 2 hits in castle and 3 hits in imp)

Japanese shinobis need a buff land mark needs to passively spawn a shinobi every two minutes like the desert raider wing spawn time allowing the shinobi to actually be used in late game

this feels like a "small" patch before the red bull qualifiers cause they don´t want to change the metagame too much for the biggest tournament of the year, they even announced a new patch after wollolo qualifiers

I hope that lack of changes are caused by them working on new expansion with civs

guess the stone wall bastion means the turning pile of the stone wall. now some time when it been destroy, nearby segments dont goes down, that makes stupid siege will stuck outside.

I actually not that disappointed with the patch, some critical issues are getting worked on, the attack move thing is soooooo huge if u try to get new players in. Understand your bad feelings on the caster mode of course, but i wana say that they focused on that aspect pretty heavy in the last survey, maybe if enought people voted it up there it'll be in the next one. Would like to have the stone tower properly integraded i guess, since it hasn't really been worked on since ages

Rus is the ultimate survivor of balance patches, but at least English gets a nerf.

To be fair, I agree they ahould remove console in one block.

They need to fix the console free for all because we don't get access to king abilities, we're at a disadvantage always.

If I read it correctly Ottoman mil school got a buff in time instead of nerf, it used to multiply train time by 5, now only 4.75. In the meantime, mil schools do have a production rate bonus not mentioning the production time modifier in Vizier points. Wording is a bit confusing here.

About the balance, imo we shouldn't have a situation where one landmark is an obvious choice in 99% of situations. I think that landmarks should be strongly connected with the strategy. Meinwerk vs Aachan is a good example to me for the HRE and we have some another pick.

Its a small patch but every change nailed it imo

I agree that this is a good patch but not what I was hoping for. However, at the beginning they mentioned that they are keeping the major changes after the Red Bull Wololo qualifications. Which is the first time they are delaying their changes for an S tier event (might be that they need more time and just found a good excuse). Anyways, I still have faith that we will be getting some exciting news for season 8and have big expectations for their mid-season patch.

I agree abt attack move out of production building. Also there needs to be penalty for leaving ranked matches, as a console player I’ve had pc guys leave my team cuz I play controller even tho I had higher score and rank and it’s infuriating

I think it is 4 extra sheep. Dry Arabia- normally has 24 sheep X 250 = 6000 (3000 per player) Season 8- 2 extra sheep per player means 28 sheep X 200 = 5600 (2800 per player)

These days to keep a game alive you must keep constant change in your game. If you stagnate on a comfy formula people will get bored easily. Fortnite and League of Legends are great examples of game that kept it fresh with game changing updates and archived a long live span. AOE4 concurrent players were on the rise last 6 month with the dlc and cool updates, now it is dropping again

...damn, i stopped playing AoE because i used Attack move and was like: "okay why doesent work attack move on horseman? Why no one tells you about that?" Meanwhile i was just unlucky that i seem to always clicked on a unit with my attack move when i used Horseman. Seeing this Patchnote drives my kinda crazy. So many fights losed to this Problem and i never understood why it doesent work.

It is awesome that they are working on something big BUT...if something big will be max 1 per year and only minor things and no communication between them, soon there won't be enough players for which they could make this and sell anything new. To keep players and find new, the game needs constant and not-too-rare updates, interesting events, quality-of-life changes, communication from devs, and hype.

Your ottoman timing is wrong! It’s like a 2x cd copier vs 2.5x so 4.75 is slower than 5. The higher the number the faster the train time.

Three months for arguably no noticeable changes... what else can you say? I understand the developers are being cautious about making big changes before major tournaments, but they could have released all these updates (and the next one) about 15 days ago. I think most AoE players feel this isn’t enough to shift the stale and flavorless meta. Indeed, this game feels like it’s on life support right now, and it’s sad… it’s such a great game with a very faithful player base.

34:30 time reduction multiplier means that you are going to divide the train time by the multiplier ( 10 sec becomes 2 sec with a 5x multiplier , and it becomes 2.105 sec with a x4.75 multiplier)

There is zero evidence 3DBee was abusing the walls mechanic. What he is claiming is that he legitimately tried to wall the location off and the game didn't allow it, which gave him the information. Even Beasty has been seen receiving the very same information the very same way, like most of the players trying to wall a contested area off at a certain point. Please don't throw accusations without proofs.

The changes seem to be reasonable. I'm not sure why there is the HRE nerf to movement speed in early game. As HRE you are already pretty weak there. Also Ottomans need help. Noone is playing them because you get rushed in early game all the time and you really can't do a lot against the stronger civs. The unit production is soooo slow.

I don't get the sheep update. What does it change that it's reduced to 200 food? Having 15 sheeps vs 5 will still be massive. Non sense.

I dont know whats deal with Relic and AoE4 but it feels like Relic abandon AoE4 and now Forgotten Empires and Worlds Edge do all work and since they balance all 4 games of AoE they dont have enough recourses to do more
