There has to be! But the director has no plan‘s on season 2 for now but apparently if he make second season it will be about the frontman. Maybe how he became the frontman. PS: The cop has to be alive still!
We don't know if there going to be a season 2 due to something in Korea over this or whatever? but there is a slim chance season 2 is about Oh ll Nam backstory.... maybe... maybe... but time will tell give it about a few years
From someone who's been hopping around watching Squid Game reactions and just found out about this channel a couple days ago, I loved seeing your reactions throughout the series! The first season of Squid Game from beginning to end is a wild ride and a half - hoping a second season isn't too far off!
The ending is amazing, it shows that the main character is exactly the same as the old man, He bet on another humans life without ever stopping to think that the man will freeze to death if he lost.
One lucky day is the title of a Korean novel about a poor guy who rides for a living. on one day when he feels quite lucky because he get a lot of customers and makes a lot if money, but he finds his wife is dead at the end of the day after work. On the morning of the day she , who has long been sick, asks him to bring some food but he scolds her saying he has no money for the food. The novel ends when the guy cries over his wife's dead body, saying to himself sarcastically "What a lucky day!" This title is homage to the novel.
I appreciate that you guys accepted that the old man played all of us. Some reactors I've seen are so mad because they can't accept that so they resort to saying the twist made no sense even though the clues are practically screaming in front of us. They felt entitled for the emotional investment they had for the old man and felt they got cheated, well Gi-hun felt cheated too. I cried for Il-nam, too. But after the reveal I was like "Well played, show!"
Gi-hun decided to spend the money cause when he saw the old man, he didn't feel responsible anymore for his death cause he was alive. The old man was the only death he felt directly responsible
The fact that he leaves Cheol with Sang-woo's mom....giving her a new son to raise...kills me every time I see that scene. Season 2 is coming and I am here for it! I'm ready for Gi-hun and Jun-ho to team up! I hope to get some more time with Front Man/In-ho and hopefully learn more about why he chose to stay with the games. I'd also really love to see more of the salesman. I also wanted to say, I love your reaction style. I liked how you'd stop occasionally to discuss things and even go back to study something more closely.
if you watch again you will notice that the old man was always safe, in the first game the doll didn't identify him on the sensor, in the second game he could just wait for everyone to leave. in the third game he wasn't actually handcuffed. when the participants started killing each other in the dorm the old man looks desperate but he had already climbed to a safe place and when he asked to turn on the lights the man in the black mask obeyed immediately. and you didn't realize that there was only one elderly person in the game and he was the number 001 which indicated that either he was a former player or he was an insider (I hope you understand what I said, English is not my first language)
"One luck day" is a title of a Korean novel about a poor rickshaw man during the Japanese occupation over Korea, and the title of the episode came from that novel. I first thought of writing the entire story here, but I think it will be better if you read it by yourself. It is a good and a depressing story.
@@steatlthyfolf in red light green light the robot girl always skipped him. And with pull the rope he wasn't strapped to the rope. These are some examples I saw online.
@@steatlthyfolf in the red light, green light Game, the old man both knew the song and timing the robot was following to prepare to stop at the right time, plus he didn’t show up on its targeting (or anyone in his immediate vicinity). That’s just the first thing… also you notice the other players are roughly the same age yet this old man was picked?
In the second game, honestly the triangle and the star are the easiest shapes. Mostly straight lines. More the star because even though there’s more lines, they’re shorter. Have to watch slowly again, but I think the old guy purposely stalled. Then when 456 did his strategy he could play along.
Hint remember b4 the marble game . Where you had to pair up the old man was ok behind by himself ..because he knew that the one who got left behind would go to the next round (like the annoyong lady)
I wish there would be a season 2! But I read an article saying that the director has no plans for a season 2 yet cause he apparently wrote, directed and produced the whole show by himself. He said in order for him to even consider season 2, he would really need help on it. I really hope in the future there would be though!
The last ending explaination: When Ji hoon called the Squid Game he just wanted to let them know that he is not a horse and they said go on the plane (if your wondering he is going to bring his daughter back) its for your own good but ji hoon got off the plane to stop the game and thats in season 2. Fun Facts: *At ep 1 when the guy that slapped ji hoon recruiting players he gave two cards if ji hoon picked the red one he would have been a soldier if he choose blue he will be a player. * You guys probably know the detective the brother of the front men so when the front men shot his brother you can see that he shot him in the shoulder instead of head so that he doesn't die and could comeback to stop the game and give him another try if ur wondering why didnt the frontmen leave his brother on the island and give him another chance well he needed to shoot him or else there was soldiers behind him he made them show that their is no realtion in the Squid Game if u need to kill ur close ones then do it. So he shot him in the shoulder. There is a chance he is in season 2 and he will also try to stop the game with Ji hoon. And thats it hope you get your answers and confusion if there is anyomre confusion just reply me! 😉
just found y’all when y’all started doing the squid game reactions, then i binged watched all of your avatar videos 😄 i’m glad y’all will be watching The legend of Korea too 😎
Knowing that number 001 was behind all this really makes his choice to end the game really interesting. He kinda really did try and give these people the chance to back out
Remember Gi hun swore on his mother and his mother end up dead. He promised that he will get his daughter a present and meet her on her next birthday. If he doesn't show up, probably he would end dead as well.
Now you guys have to react to the Korean film, “Train to Busan” and “Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds.” Highly recommend it. Both great films. People have already started reacting to it already after Squid Game.
The Oldman used the recruitment card to summon him. I think its a dead giveaway that the Oldman atleast some control of the games with the fact that he used that card.
They're making a bet on another human life... He's showing him just how easy it is, showing him that he's capable of doing to others what he just had done to him
Player 001 (old man) They couldn't risk his life in the games , because after The marbles games the Bridge Game came and that's a big big risk as you could see!! Hyped for season 2 and about the Red🔴 hair you can search it up why he did for a special reason
....Except he did risk his life. All the vids suggesting he was cheating in the red light green light game and the tug of war are nonsense. He never moved on red light ever and anyone saying he was always safe is purely speculation. Same with tug of war. People say he didn't have locks on at the end but it's hard to tell. But people think his plan must have been... fight for his life up until the very last second and then magically unlock his locks and let go with no room for error.... and then fucking immediately get knocked off by the people behind him because he wasn't in the back. What kind of stupid plan is that?
You guys should do a reaction to all the Easter eggs in this season. There’s a lot. Like how you noticed the old man wasn’t in the registration book. How it started off with 002 and not 001.
Every episode you guys showed sympathy for the old man I was saying to my screen “oh just you wait, you like him now…” 😂😂😂also apparently the old man wasn’t locked in, in the tug of war game
Even in the last game against il nam, if that one passerby had not helped, the beggar would have died and il nam would have won the game. Through that game, gi-hun must have felt that someone had to do it, and he must have made up his mind. He doesn't want to agree that il nam is right, so he has to win and can't run away. The game has been running since 1988 because nobody stopped it. You never know when it will end and think of how many people have died during that time. 455 people died in every game for 33 years. 15,000 people have died so far
You can literally see the old man's head after the gunshot, right after the head of the pink guard as Gi Hun went forward. Theory is even tey are father and son. And dude, it is Ggambu.
If you guys are interested in checking out more k dramas, heres my list: Kingdom (zombie apocalypse set in medieval korea) Sweet Home (korean monster drama) Signal (crime thriller drama with timey wimey stuff, one of my personal favorites) The Fiery Priest (another one of my personal favorites) Vincenzo (a surprise favorite for me) Mr. Sunshine (set during the early 1900s in korea, one of the actors in this drama was also in squid game)
During red light-green light everyone is highlighted green by the machine EXCEPT the old man, dead giveaway. Also when the detective snuck into the records room he opened the cover to a roster list, the FIRST PAGE was player number 2?!?!? player number 1 was missing from the book! lol also number 1's house replica was the only one labeled with the games insignia, even his name was sketchy- oh Il Nam means "First Man" in english. so many subtle hints.
Funny thing old man didn't believe in humanity, but he didn't understand the he survived only because main character help him. In the end, won those who helped each other.
I highly recommend you guys to watch the Korean Drama titled "Goblin". The mc is the guy who invited these people in the subway, and I guarantee you, you guys would love the drama so much.
This was the final squid game, game 7. the elevator only had the seventh floor, il nam had the clock there which was zoomed in on as a timer, people believe the water had something to make up nam die at exactly 12(eliminated)
Heres a theory of mine. I think the police dude's brother is actually like gi hun. Hes only being the front man because he wants to collect intel and actually want to stop the game for good. And later on gi hun would replace him and will become the next front man also to investigate the VIPs
Korean dramas have always been the best and are very popular among Asian countries, glad it is finally making its popularity internationally, like what anime is doing
You guys forgot about the detail you picked up on episode 5 about the old man 001 not being in the records of current game cuz ofc the host wouldn't include himself in the records lol
what if the brother was always a vip, and he just happened in 2015 to play the game, and didn't back out but saw it all the way through. Which is why he's the game master bc he lived thru the games and knows how "fair/equal" the participants need to have it/be.
Good job on your reaction, really enjoyed it. Welcome to K culture! Yes I’m Korean, and if you’re intrigued to Korean drama, pls. let me recommend you another masterpiece, Mr. Sunshine, where the Frontman was in it as the main character. It will be a totally different experience ^^ enjoy!
The creator has said that although the ending is kind of open-ended he intended it as a moment of closure for the series, with Gi-hun turning back meaning to symbolize that you "should not be dragged along by the competitive flow of society, but that you should start thinking about who has created the whole system-and whether there is some potential for you to turn back and face it." He also said he's getting pressure for a season 2 though making season 1 was a long process for him but if he does go with a season 2 he has three potential stories since he purposely left some things unanswered - 1) Continuing what will happen to Gi-hun, 2) The backstory for The Front Man/In-ho and how he got to that point, and 3) The backstory of The Recruiter.
actually Oh Il-nam was not in danger the whole games, if you rewatch it u can see at first game the doll wasn't scanning him right, at the rope game his hands wasn't locked to the rope like the others, at the duo game he was supposed to be the only one left alone without a partner to pass the game instead of that girl, but yeah they can still fake shot him off camera. When the investigator got to the files room and checked the record for current game you can see first page was record of player No.2 since they don't need a record for "their boss". In the last scene seems he went back to join the game for a second time but not for the money this time but to end this for good so looks like his daughter will have to wait for months or another year sadly.
He had a water bottle when he wet himself while the others didn’t and that was probly to tell front man he was done, it was after marble, before the jump
The fact that Gi-hun went straight to conclusion that the old man was behind it all was like wtf. They should have him asked how he was alive from the start?
The invitation he got to go to the building is literally the same one they use for the calling card given by one of the event organizers. He just put two and two together when he saw the old man alive.
For *plot twist* of old man 001, Oh Il-nam -- It seems like the purpose was for the *narrative* of rich people doing crazy stuff for the sake of being bored and before dying, to show the cruelty of humanity. So this is shown with the exploitation done by the old man for the squid games and forming a connection to Gi-han, while keeping his true intentions hidden. Though, the old man reached out to Gi-han a year later since he did value his actual connection with him to some degree, for the old man to feel something after a long time. We are also shown the compassion of humanity at the end with the person helping the homeless man. So the *cruelty* of humanity vs the *compassion* of humanity theme.
You need to do another of hints from the writer/director with foreshadowing --> 1. opening child game reveals the end 2. "I am not a horse, I'm a person - horse game 6(Ki hoon) moves ahead of 8 at the end, 7(see byuk) falls out at the end, 8 (sang woo) loses though he was much ahead the whole time 3. Duk su's death - initially falls off bridge to save himself, but he dies falling off a bridge, Sae byuk's death is reinforced by how she threatened her broker with a knife to his throat and she gets sliced in the neck, Ali steals from his boss but ends up getting his marbles stolen by Sang-woo, Sang woo tries to commit suicide at first but he really does at the end of the game, the present that Kihoon gave his daughter foreshadows the death in the games as he box is black wrapped in a bow tie, the inner wrapping is pink and the gun is a lighter showing the cremation of the bodies after they die in the game.
you should watch squid game easter eggs and foreshadows. You missed lots of thing that you will surprise . For example, if you look carefully at first game.. The baby doll marked green light for (didn't move people) and marked red light For moving people. But 001 old guy didn't be marked any time.. He was not red or green. He was out of marking.. Also if you look carefully that police guy's searching the player's lists, you will notice that players number are starting 002 and finishing 459.. Because 001 was not a player.. Also if you look carefully at wall of the dorm, you will realize that every game is actually on the wall.. Players didn't realize that .. etc. :)) There are 20+ easter eggs like that you'll surprise..
@Doppelganger D Lmao he literally said showed he was going back to the game when they asked for his Name and date of birth if he wants to participate and he willingly gave it. Plus he doesn't even know where the island is
@@joseoku6946 the person talking to him on the phone wasn’t gonna let him play the game. Why would he say all that stuff after he said his name if he just wanted to play. They said “don’t get any absurd ideas. Get on that plane”. He said his name a birthday so that they knew who they were talking to. Come on dude use your brain. He’s gonna try to stop them. It wouldn’t be that hard to figure out where the island is/infiltrate. The detective did it
The game is going on sice 80s so it probably makes sense their are more than 1 owners of that game. That old man was probably the sponsor for that year alone
Looks like there will have a season2 in these two years in the future There’s a detail in the old man scene, he told gi no body will help the man in the street and want to gamble with him But in fact gi can just simply go downstairs and help that man (old man said “nobody”, and asked would gi help him when he mentioned the homeless man at the beginning), but gi didn’t At that point, gi is no different from those rich people, he stand behind the glass and bet on people’s life
Player 1 and player 456.. the first and the last.. alpha and omega. Guessing about season 2: If the cop survived (his brother the Front Man did) perhaps Gi-hun and the cop get together to try to take down the games and the entire organization since the game is seemingly being held in various places over the world.
I mean of course Gi-hun is going to say the old man is behind everything. He sent him a card meant specifically for him. Only the people involved in the game use those cards. Second that fact that he isn't dead already proves too high up to be killed. It's not far fetched for Gi-hun to come to that conclusion.
Btw, it does seem like the games were slightly rigged in his favor, the only game in which he mightve actually not been able to get out of dying was the Tugowar, but he was still the one who gave them all a strategy to win the game (which nearly failed). I think he has simply willing to take the risk of dying, with his tumor and all that
If you want to see a great zombie movie. Try Train To Busan. It stars the guy who plays the recruiter in the train platform. It's one of the best zombie films. Some of the other kdramas are pretty good as well.
