David Downes interview (Sporting Director) screamed of tempering expectations:
After finishing just outside of the play-offs on the final day of the campaign last time out, the Seasiders will be looking to learn and improve on certain areas with another enthralling, yet challenging season on the horizon.
"You look at the sides that are joining us - the likes of Wrexham and Stockport who have done exceptionally well over recent years and are riding the crest of a wave. The sides that are coming down from the Championship are established clubs in and around this level as well, so there are realistically probably around 12-15 teams who all think they will have a chance of making the top six come the end of the season.

My season ticket at Bolton £270 ish...under 12 £89 and under 18's £119. As a Bolton fan and a football fan, I actually think this at blackpool stinks, especially for the future fans of the club.

Great podcast, thanks guys. Just wondering, why no mention of Sadler's insider trading charges? This could hugely influence the club. Would have been nice to get Tim's take on it.

Probably discuss this when the picture becomes a bit clearer on how it will effect the club.

37:30 Glad you brought this up. I live 120 miles away so can’t get a ST. The walk up prices have basically meant I won’t be going to any games next season I’d get to about 5/6 home games and 5/6 away games. Might just Chuck my home games and got to a couple more ways. Cat 2 with a booking fee for both of us to go to a home game before travel cost food etc I’m at nearly £70 with the booking fee. League 1 football game, where’s it gone wrong. Good pod guys.

It's like they are forcing people into the season ticket route by making it ridiculous prices for walk up fans. Cynical and unfathomablely stupid as they will lose fans you who can only pick and choose games.

@@seasiderspod this announcement about Segantii explains a lot. I think Sadler’s done and this could be a strategy to increase the value of the club for a sale. I.e increase the revenue for a year show that to potential buyers get a better price. Rough times ahead.

My biggest issue with the hike is that it's now £400 cheaper for a family of 4 to watch Preston in a hugher league. I know they're up for sale, so they're trying to get numbers up, but £400 is a lot of money, especially in todays financial climate. This just feels like a slap in the face from the club and is a huge indicator that the club dont care one bit about fans. We lost a generation to the boycott, this isn't going to help get them back.

I'm really struggling with the idea we run under a "benefactor model", we're in the third tier? We dont splash the cash by any stretch of the imagination, to operate the way we do under a benefactor model must mean something is seriously wrong with football or BFC.

Almost as bad as the matches we all watch being described as "The Product"

Seems reasonable to me. At CFC the cheapest adult ST on Early bird is £355. Mine was £400 with an early bird and a renewal discount in the east stand. We are in L2 and were paying pretty much this last season in the NL. £400 to be hopefully entertained 23 times is way cheaper than most other ways of getting that. If prices are low then there is no money for better players so less entertainment. I know money is tight but this is a 50p a week increase ? Bolton averaged double the average crowd of Blackpool so of course they can charge less. Economy of scale.

people are taking issue with the increase to younger people's season tickets and the restructuring of the age brackets which has created a significant increase in cost for families. It's directly discussed in the pod how the price of the adult season ticket isn't really an issue, this will impact families and the growth of the fanbase.
