What a joy to watch you surely and steadily bringing in the harvest and turning it into all manner of delicious and nourishing foods for winter. I know it takes a lot of effort, but you make it look like magic. 🌸🏡🌸 Michele

Hello Mary, it is so lovely to see you here and no apology is needed, I know how busy life is. Thank you for letting me know about Michele’s beautiful post, I wouldn’t want to have missed it as I scrolled past my own video and not realising. It is so wonderful Michele is making more content on RU-vid as she was/is fabulous on Instagram (back when I was over there more regularly, I think when it was just photos 😆) All is fairly well here, keeping warm by the fire. I hope you and your family are all doing wonderfully. Much love Elissa 💕

Thanks so much Sian, if you ever visit in the early winter, I’ll make some for you…. I don’t think they would travel by post too well and I don’t think Lilly Pillys grow in the tropics do they? 😊

Your garden is so gorgeous. I've never had lilly pillies before - reminds me of how olives are bitter until pickled.
@MoatCottage

Yes exactly and quince and crabapples too. It fascinates me how humans cleverly found ways to make them delicious, most probably out of necessity but we can reap the rewards. 💕

@@MoatCottage I often wonder how it was discovered taking certain steps made something taste good. Haven't worked with crabapples before. Do you make an apple sauce out of them?

Once again, I'm not getting notifications! I reset the "bell" - Hopefully that will fix it! It's late Spring here in North Florida, and I'm in the middle of harvesting and canning. So far, peas, squash and green beans, as well as Spring broccoli and kale. I should be harvesting tomatoes soon, and cabbages, and in July, sweet corn. I got very few berries this year. We got an Arctic blast that killed off so much in December, and the final blow was a late frost. Next year will be better! 🥰
@MoatCottage
@MoatCottage Год назад
Your Arctic Blast is probably similar to our Antarctic Blast, that icy wind 🥶 Despite your lack of berries, (you are exactly right - positivity for next year) It sounds like you have had plenty of successes too, well done! As for our RU-vid challenge, I am not sure why it is happening to you. I am pretty sure I’m doing all the requirements and checking all the right boxes this end. I hope what you’ve done works, so you don’t miss anything.

Thank you @helenabaier7823 I do love sharing my panty room with you. You didn’t miss anything, a new home is going up in the paddock next door, where I had my ducks and chickens grazing for a few years. I don’t own the property, so I was grateful for the years I had access to it. There is a housing shortage and many new houses are going up, in small country towns. 😊
