Some would say if you are cooking with high enough heat to burn oil that you don't know how to cook. Stay away from those poisonous oils. Avocado oil is produced by chemical extraction.
I love these griddles, nothing like being able to make a breakfast burrito, or a full ass breakfast, without dirtying up every gosh darn pan and dish in your house and having to heat up the house with an oven or stink the place up with greasy bacon aroma lol. these things are bad ass... oh and not to mention being able to make tacos on this shit, bad ass!
I 💙 a Blackstone Grill!! I can't wait to own one of these babys!! Hopefully I'll get one for Christmas 🎄 😌!! I love to cook also and feed my family with a big good ole breakfast! Yes it takes time but you r doing it with love! It beats eating the same ole cold cereals on any morning.
I used good ol' Crisco - 3 light coats, letting it burn off between coats. Then i did one coat of coconut oil. Now, i just use a little squirt of water on the sticky spots once my grill has cooled a bit, scrape it off, paper towel off the mess, and a light coat of veg oil to store it for the next time.
I made my mom think I forgot about mother's day. What she doesn't know is I have a brand new blackstone flat top grill in the back of my suv for her. I'm gonna set it up when she goes to work. I'm gonna season it and everything.
Great video brother. My preference is to do my pancakes before the bacon, so my pancakes don’t suck up that heavy smoky bacon flavor, unless your making a kind of McGriddle sandwich. Peace! Looks awesome man!
I've ordered my 28" blackstone grill and it should be arriving tomorrow. I heard you shouldn't crank it up on the high and that you should heat up the grill gradually. Do you know anything about this?
That’s what I want to know too. I just bought and I’m going to get the seasoning tomorrow. But do I do this every time or is it a one and done kind of thing
Instructions say turn on high, when hot coat with a thin coat of oil/fat until it stops smoking. Repeat 3-5 times. Griddle needs to turn dark brown/black. Scrape burnt oil/fat off thru slot in back into catch can. Turn griddle off after coating one last time with oil to prevent rust. I used a paper towel folded 3-4 times, squeezed olive oil onto one surface of towel, placed on hot griddle, then used a spatula edge to wipe oil all over surface. You'll have to reposition the edge on back of folded towel to keep oil wiping onto surface. I refolded same towel each time I coated surface.
No this is the initial seasoning of if need to reseason. After each cook it’s best to wipe it down then leave a thin layer of oil/fat so to prevent rusting
Too much oil, use scraper tool (looks like extra wide putty knife) and scrape as much excess as you can into rear slot into catch can. Fold a paper towel 3-4 times, add oil to one side, lay on hot griddle and wiping over entire surface, use spatula edge to control towel. When griddle stops smoking, scrape again, coat again, turn off burners, when cooled down cover surface and it's ready for next use.
i'd check that the temperature is getting hot enough. If it is just give it a few more rounds of seasoning. Also if its not completely browned all throughout I wouldn't worry to much, it will over time as you use is.
What's in that can of seasoning that can't be accomplished with oil or Crisco? I don't season my cast iron pans with special, expensive seasoning. Why is this needed?
@@Whiskey.Tango.Actual I use both of those oils for the same reason. Which again begs the question of why one should buy the can of seasoning which is surely far more expensive than just buying a bottle of those oils?
Wow People love some pork don't they ? Wow. Of all things to cook, pork always have to make it to the grill doesn't it ? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.. nice video, but... 🐖, no.😂😂😂
