Former NBA player Sebastian Telfair expressed his anger at the fallout between Kobe Bryant and his parents over his wife, Vanessa Bryant. The conversation arose in relation to the sale of the late Kobe Bryant's memorabilia by his parents. Telfair shared his empathy with Kobe, admitting that his own relationship with his family was strained after he went against his parents’ advice in marrying his wife. I lost my father to lung cancer last week. I had issues with him at a point in my early 20s. But we were able to sit down and get through them. After that, we were like best friends. I'm so proud that he got to leave us surrounded by love. We all need to make sure that we show the people we care about how much we love them. You never know when you're going to lose them, and having unresolved issues or unsaid words will be your biggest regret.

@@davruck1 It's not uncommon unfortunately. Go to any nursing home and you'll see some deeply sick individuals, but you'll see a good chunk of people there that seem perfectly fine. Their children put them in nursing homes to not have to take care of their parents. This fuckshit happens and these comments show you the mentality that leads to it.

There's some context missing. Kobe and his parents stopped speaking for a long time after he and Vanessa married, but they eventually made up. They fell out AGAIN a couple years before Kobe died because his mom asked Kobe to buy them another house and he refused, after which they tried to auction off some of his memorabilia. He sued to stop them, you can search his old tweets talking about this and how hurt he was by it.

Thanks for clarifying for those who didn't know (i knew, but I saw a lot of ignorant comments). Another disagreement is Kobe's dad had Kobe invest in a basketball team in Europe and and it lost millions and flopped horribly. So Kobe kinda felt a way about that. Yes parents and kids should always keep a strong bond, but things happen and in real life ppl fall out. It's complicated and a lot of people are oversimplifying it

Who knows what the behind the scenes is like but she had a golden opportunity to run off with half the estate and didn't. He was able to be locked in all the way for a 20 year career and his home and kids was always held down with no noise or scandals from her end. She seemed to understand her role and I have no problem whatsoever with women like her, Savanna James getting everything. The parents seemed overly concerned with his relationship and money tho even tho Im not knocking them for getting security from honestly irrelevant material possessions. I would think in death Kobe would want them to do this as they still are his parents at the end of the day even if he had to love them from a distance in life.
