actually the SEC did just as well as the ACC this year in tournament bids. ACC's best teams were arguably better, but the SEC had more depth. Now if you compare the SEC to the Big Ten this year..... not so much. But in recent years the SEC has made huge strides in the sport.

Well Auburn has already made it further than any of the blue bloods. It's the first year Since 1987 that Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA are all absent from the Final Four

Right now we are playing good basketball yes, but we have a LOT more tournament wins to go before I would be willing to call us that. Historically we have one of the worst programs in the SEC. History like that doesn't disappear overnight. But hopefully with the amazing job Bruce is doing we can change that.

I wouldn't say that Auburn has a great basketball program either. They do have a good team right now. And 2 championships in back to back years is definitely building in the direction of a good basketball program.

Bob Joe well on the field we were bad this year but that was to be expected our only great player graduated and Crean’s and Fox’s systems are complete total opposites so none of the players were well adjusted to the system except the newer guys.

Yep. A New Mexico State team that was 30-4 and still got a 12 seed somehow. Meanwhile Gonzaga gets a 1 seed for playing in just as shitty a conference.

They were still gassed from playing 4 straight games in the SEC Tournament. And they had to get use to the high altitude in Colorado to boot! It’s a miracle they won the game! (Why did the SEC Tournament Champions not only get a 5 seed - but the worse 5 seed to boot? Mississippi State also got a 5 seed, but it was closer to home. PLUS Miss.State got to play their first game on Friday instead of Thursday. It was almost like the selection committee decided to deliberately give Auburn the worse draw they could.)

There was missed calls both ways and in a close game, they all are equally important. But if you wanted officiating to be right, then they would have called the foul that happened before he went into the act of shooting. Therefore it would have been 2 free throws and not enough to overcome the 3point deficit.

You mean the foul on the floor after he had taken 3 steps?

@@BufordTiger He wasn't in the act of shooting when they fouled him. As he was getting fouled, he then threw it up. Therefore it would have been 2 free throws. Bruce Pearl told his players to foul in that situation and they did. Just wasn't called and neither was the one when he was shooting. Doesn't matter how many steps he took.
