Pro tip: When you use dynamite to blow up trees, make sure you face in the direction your base is... the trees will then fall that way, making it less work to move all the wood.
@@Jorrywoodmen So I wasn't the only one to notice? Breaking Bad was one of my favorite shows. It was so well done, and taught me a few things about what a criminal might do. Don't worry I won't Break Bad... Not yet...😜
The objective of the game is to get to the boat Day 1. Then make your way to the right side of the map where the inlet/river is. If you build your house on top of that cliff overlooking the inlet/ocean on the bluff then you will be successful. Very few cannibals go in that area and there are tons of resources in that area. As time goes on it will get worse, etc... but it's good way to start.
2:53 the dead woman at the front of the wreckage has an axe in her chest and has no shoes. Looks like she was alive when the plane crashed and was killed afterward.
Played 7 Days because of my friends but I wasn't a fan of the hitboxes. It was fun to kill eachother but The Forest just has this peaceful, outdoorsy atmosphere, and the cannibals are extremely intelligent foes to contend with. The crafting menu is awesome because it feels like everything you make has a justifiable purpose. Some days (in-game) I just take a raft out fishing, and check my rabbit traps on the way back.
I like the Forest because even though there are the cannibals but you can play on the island for a long time before actually needing to deal with them. in my first game, i was at around 60 days before i finally decided to really fight any cannibals that i met up with. and that was partially because i had crafted so many things except for bone armor items so i wanted to get into doing that.
Love your videos man, you're the only survival let's player I watch these days. I know when you start paying attention to something it's because it's good not just because its fresh and popular Thanks for the hours of entertainment and showing me some of my favorite games :)
There is now creepy armor that you harvest from the dead mutants, which is better, albeit creepier, than bone armor. It's got these weird fleshy things that dangle off of it. yaay. lol Oh! also also, the only issue I have with using dynamite to chop down trees is that it draws mutants... sometimes lots of them. I'm so excited about this game that I'm having a hard time not sharing all my knowledge with you about it. One more thing though. You actually can put a drying rack on your tree house. On the porch area, a drying rack fits perfectly along each side, along the short fence that meets the walls of the house.
I am really enjoying Forest. The AI is great, the immersion is great. Combat is great. It's well balanced. The bow hunting is great. Hope they continue to expand and look forward to thier other title.
Just bought the game since there was a sale, and let me tell you 60fps on the ps5 felt awesome. The controls are good it just takes like 30min to learn. This game might be my favorite. Btw dont be scared of playing you can hide from the cannibals if you crouch in a bush or something they wont spot you and run away
The thing I love most about your series is that even though you played the game, you try to pretend like its a whole new experience. Keep up the good work
I love this game. Across that water (lake/stream) is my favorite spot for hunting rabbits and herbs. Use the slingshot on rabbits, it makes them real easy.
Kage thanks for awesome videos I’ve been watching your channel for few months and in joy the entertainment. This game look really fun please continue with this series.
You would only be interested in the sandbox version, by your own words, but it is a vicious environment, always cold between blizzards. The wolves are everywhere and attack in packs. Moose and bear, it is all after you. It's management of what little resources you can find and build on that determines your success, of course. There is also a pilgrim mode where nothing is after you and you can learn the maps safely. I was able to get lost in it. Hope you like it.
My favorite survival games I've played? Subnautica takes first place, 2nd place is ark with all it's dlcs, and 3rd place is yet to be decided. I'm going to buy a few survival games this year, and the forest is at the top of my list.
I had a great time playing this all the way through watching your first season. I was a little concerned about the new boss that can just destroy bases, might make me have extra back up files just in case :)
I'm SO damn happy your back on the FOREST man I've missed watching your videos for this game I would like to send you some photos of my area that I have built around where you at maybe give you some ideas? By the way if your on top of your tree house looking out go straight to the beach once your at the beach go right about 100 feet and you'll see two turtles that spawn there to do you don't have to go all the way to the yacht and if you go across the river on the top of the hill, deer, raccoons, rabbits and lizards spawn up there like crazy plus fish to
Hearing a big RU-vidr talk about 7 days to die gives me goosebumps every time. My friends dad “Joel huenink” designed the game. Let me tell you, they have the nicest house in our town 😁
Fun Fact - If you play on multiplayer you can get a tray at the back of the plane, it’s main purpose is to trade items with players but you can also duplicate items by having 31 or over of that item. Put the tray in your crafting menu then hold the add button on the item you want to dupe. If you remove the tray and item off the crafting menu you should have an extra 30 of that item.
@@daisy9181 was hungry and needed a meal hunting would take too much energy and fishing was traveling. Traveling is danger. Chop her up and eat the limbs. But I couldn't eat the limbs.
The red man on the plane is not a cannibal. He’s one of the scientist in the facility at the end of the game. He cut on that machine that pulls planes down and makes them crash. He took Timmy to use him to bring his daughter back. He’s just painted red with paint. The reason why you don’t see him at the end of the game but only his daughter is because she killed him that’s why she’s covered in blood.
Why the hell would you put this in the comments, I beat the game long ago but still just think of someone just so happening to read this when they haven't beaten the game yet.
It sucks donkey balls. Cant count how many films the kid or guy called Tim either dies or is completely and utterly fucked up😂. Screw this, ima go change my name to Gregory or Daniel or summit.😒😔
"7 days to die" his a pvp and pve game, "7 days to die" was suposed to have more PVP features, they were explore in development but endup crashing too many times, that's why you don't have mass servers like in "rust"or "conan exiles", and even thought i love to play it, the best PVE game his still SUBNAUTICA. Cheers mate
@DeltroxTv When you see nothing your mind makes you feel terror, your lucky, but when you see terror in the form of a leviatan it gives you a cold chill down your spine. What a fantastic game!!!
Nate G. I currently have the oculus rift that I used in the forest and in vrchat I was able to do some extra steps(a lot of extra steps XD ) to get it to pair with the vive body trackers. However I’m planning on getting the vive pro here in three weeks. I thought about getting the index but I know ppl who have it and they can even admit even tho it’s great, they rushed it and it has a few bugs in it. Like the controller messing up and dragging them to the side a bit from time to time.
maybe the map was different 3 years ago when this video was made, but the area where you decided to settle, has a lot of turtles at the beach, and furry animals to hunt just across the river. it's the area that is nowadays commonly called "the fertile plains" it also has a lot of blueberries to collect and eventually grow. and you're not far from a common place to meet up with raccoons, which is admittedly one of the rare animals in the game since they don't just appear in most areas that you frequent.
for future reference you can put at least two drying racks in the alpine tree house with space for water collector as well. which also saves it from cannibals because just like they can't get you they can't get the racks. unless it's armsy then don't hold your breathe.
For a pure survival game, The Long Dark is imo the most accurate and best for pure survival. (500~ hours on interloper) 7 days is my favorite crafting survival, I have like 1000 hours on 7 days. It's always fun to have a new game every so often just to see how you fair ect
@@christianbeaupre7989 For sure. I played, well tried to, a game on Pilgrim. It just felt too easy. Food ect just never seemed to be an issue. Still fun at least xD
Love the forest hope to see more of it in upcoming vids. Ps: also loving your Space engineers let's play. Keep up the amazing content and I'll keep watching.🙂💯
Stopped playing this after I managed to connect all the trees in the game map by making tree bridges. That was safest way to avoid jump scares at night lmao
I think one of my favorite things about the forest is the deterioration of hunger and thirst aren't terribly fast. I loved Conan exiles, for example, but I felt like I had to be eating and drinking constantly and it got annoying after awhile. Even when you're max level and set with a nice base.
Best part about watching others walkthroughs is seeing how close they are to your base. Where you were gathering sticks just up that hill is my fort base lol
I only found The Forest by chance when I happened upon one of your videos Kage so I thank you for that. Got over 300 hrs in this amazing game now and I still love it, such an amazing game. Great to see you back amongst the trees.
those pages were added by us when our sanity goes down to 80%. if you actually see the pages in the survival book is ripped off and has crude pictures and bloody notes added by us.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! This has helped me a ton! I made the mistake of putting my small cabin by the beach and two cannibals took me out at night after I lit a big bomb fire lol. Anyways thanks for your help!
The guy in the plane, isn't a cannibal, he's the guy from the sailboat, the girls father, and he is taking Timmy to use in the machine and resurrect his daughter...
You HAVE to beat the game... it's a game you will tell your friends about when you do for sure. It gets "The last half of the E.T. ride at Universal Studios" crazy.
I thought you could fit a drying rack in your treehouse, or was that the other one I'm thinking of, tou had a whole Ewok village in your last playthrough with the bone zone and all that connected, cant wait to see your epic build this time around!
have you tried Green Hell? that's my favourite survival game out there, it goes on realism much more than the forest or any other game that i know, well the long dark is close tho
I am sure you already know this but just in case. Are you aware that you are directly opposite one of the Safest places to build in the game. People call it The Fertile Lands and it is just on the other side of the water you built next to. It has a fair amount of sticks and trees, Plenty of deer, lizzards, rabbits and birds. No Canibal Patrol Routes go through it. There are plenty of berries and even some plants to harvest. There is a 2 hut cannibal village all the way on the far side but they tend to leave you alone if you stay away as much as possible. there is even a red paint there and it is close to several caves/camps and even a couple of suitcase stashes. Its' only real downside, like where you are, is you have to travel to get turtle shells.
The red man isn’t a cannibal. He is a man and his plane crashed as well and to save his kid he had to give your kid to this girl. And that’s why at the end of the game you either have to save Timmy by shooting down another plane or shutting down the facility
@@Winkzy-_- it's a survival game, but it also has a pretty good story. The inventory and crafting system is what really stands out about it. Instead of a virtual inventory like every game has it has an actual real backpack that you can drag the physical objects in and out of. You can open your backpack and drag a coconut shell and place it seamlessly anywhere in the world and it will collect rainwater. That's actually a neat trick I used to make traveling easier, I always just left empty coconut shells beside my usual trails and so I hardly ever had to worry about water on my travels. You can make soups, but not by finding or unlocking recipes, you just put a pot on the fire and drag ingredients from your backpack into the pot. It just makes it much more realistic and interesting. It runs like butter too, just smooth and the world is so vibrant and colorful. It's very well optimized to, most survival games feel clunky or slow or some you just feel like a floating camera with arms but this one is smooth and fluid like a AAA game.
I just got this game and almost everyone off my friends have it but it’s too bad you can Only play 4 players at a time so I can’t always play with them that’s kinda dumb that it’s only 4 players at a time
No mans sky is very similar. I’ve just started playing it and I’m completely addicted. I loved subnautica, the second scariest game I’ve ever played (outlast being first) I haven’t finished it yet I got too freaked out I hate the ocean lol but wow amazing game
The passenger manifest is separate. If you pull up your crafting blanket and look at the bottom you will see the manifest that you click on. Also the dark blue is energy and the lighter blue is stamina
OOF DADDY this game is great. Most useful tip I can give you is. With 1 rabbit skin, 2 ropes, and 3 clothe you can make a bag that Carrys more sticks. Your gonna use alot of sticks in this game your gonna want the stick bag.
X 95 If you stealth crouch, and walk into a bush you are damn near invisible. Good for avoiding patrols or packs of cannibals. Also the bow or slingshot are very useful for hunting small animals . I'd recommend you aquire at least one of the range weapons to make hunting easier.
I started with the forest, but once I found conan exiles I never looked back. I have sunk 200 hours into conan already , theres just so much more content than the forest.
@@marianosenizkiy2025 >Make sure you check out the Age of Calamatious mod, its got plenty more factions, items, things to do, level cap increase, etc. < With Conan, the combat can be a little buggy i suppose but overall I've had a very smooth experience with it. Even the recent horse/mounted combat update has run smoothly on my end. Compared to the forest there's many more types of enemies to fight (or tame) and the game overall seems to have a stronger community backing it. Conan's downside comes with it being linked with the Conan lore, so most of the items, decorations, etc are specifically entwined in that universe. (i.e. there's no tamable dragons, fairy or animal races) things you may see and enjoy in MMOs. . but mods add a lot to make Conan worthwhile. Hope this short essay helps xD
@@Hyside14 Huge thanks for your explanation! I thought thought thought about a week for whether to get Conan but eventually ended up with buying "Divinity 2" :)) I am fan of Robert Howard Conan universe (read much more than what Howard wrote), graphics of Conan Exiles reminds me one of my favorite oldschool games - Blade of Darkness. But, I never played in MMO (don't like actually playing with humans because like... there is always dudes from asia who kicks your ass, and after I spent hundreds of hours being addicted in Skyrim I thought "What if Conan will be so cool I'll spend... -(read "waste" because yeah, I tend to think gaming is healthy if it takes 1h per day, not 8h a day) -... I'll dive in it's multiplayer" And basically that's it. Likely I'll get Conan soon, but not now. Your comparison between exact two games I thought to get is useful :)
I built my second attempt of a base at the beach where its nice and flat and turtles are slow and easy to kill and made it super easy to keep enough meat to dry and shells for water catchers. And the food comes to you instead of farming bunnies or working for it.
Awesome ! When you started stranded deep again, you mentionned that you missed The Forest, i was wondering when you would play it again x) thank you for bringing it back ! off to a great start
