im at this stage of life where the only love i believe in is self love. Fk marriages, fk relationships, companionship suits me better (well unless someone down in my life can prove me otherwise)
Is love enough? For me, it depends on one's definition of love. For those two big issues, infidelity and abuse, if it exists in the relationship, then there is no real love in that relationship as far as I'm concerned.
Forgave a cheater, and she cheated with even more men (married men included). There goes 5 years of loyalty and devotion. Never trust anyone ever again.
Yes I think love is enough. Love don't pay your bills but for me it satisfies me and that's enough. A Chinese saying 知足常乐. When u know how to be satisfied with the little things, it brings long term happiness. You may be rich, but if you don't feel loved, you might not be happy. You might not have the time for ourself or your family. Working so much for money but yet might not have the life for it. If you are not happy, you might face mental issues n risk in thoughts or motivation to stay alive. If you are poor but loved. You are rich in having the community that keeps you afloat, be better, and hopefully break through and be richer than those that are born rich.
Some folks need lil bit more work before they can be proper relationship material. I learned not to be the "messiah" that helped them with that, cos that'll just be helping the next girl to train up the guy 😅

On another note, I think whether one should date one's ex or not depends on the reason for the initial breakup. If it was something foundational for a healthy relationship, then probably not. But if it was something more "superficial" like interests, like and dislikes, kind of thing......then, talking it through later when both have become more mature in thinking might solve that issue such that a healthy relationship can now be had between the two parties.
Personal perspective. As a Man, I don’t get disillusioned with this notion called “love” from women no matter what they claimed. As I observed from friends around. It’s really about how much money and status do I have that she would stick around to benefit from. So if I’m broke and a woman shows interest, I’ll be very suspicious and conclude that she is either mentally unstable or wants something from me..
Thinking too much. Yes there are ppl that do look for money n status. But these days there are more independent women than u think there is. That is just out for love than monetary support. By worrying too much u r just closing ur doors for nth. N might have close ur door to the right lady. It's always unfair in life n we go through ups n downs. It's shallow to only accept ppl w money n status. Yes it might be easier to find one when u have more money. But u will still have to doubt if ur partner loves u or not or just wants ur money. Furthermore, what's there to ask for if someone likes u when u don't rlly have much money?
@Stallion8881 Yes, I do agree that this type of ppl u have in mind does exist. But pls don't be blinded that every woman in this world is out to gain material stuff. If the lady is self-sufficient, she might not have any material thoughts. Or maybe the lady is just not very much attracted to material stuff(from personality/family background/teaching). They say tier 1 ladies usually go for tier 2 guys. Why is that so? Is that true? Have you seen more and more jie di lian that is pretty loving? Or couples of different initial status being together but happily together for a long time? E.g there are lots of famous actress that is with a less famous actor. This has clearly shown that not all women are looking for top-tier rich partner to match their status. I feel that most importantly is the character, personality, skillset match. Just try it with a light heart rather than to assume and close your door shut all the time. Just hope you don't lose the chance to gain happiness because of personal judgement or assumptions. Yes, everyone r in a relationship wanting to gain smth. It could also simply be experience, love, care, concern, time, company, attention, power, helping her on things she hates doing or not good at. Have an open mind. Overthinking burns bridges. Fighting in getting out of ur own comfort zone! Even if it's connections, there isn't much to loss is there? U should be proud of it that you do have the connections. In a way, u can say that you are rich in connections! Being poor is not usually by choice, though it could be by actions. But that should not be stopping you to feel qualified to be in the dating space. If the lady can't accept you at your lowest point, she does not deserve to be with you even at your peak.
@xuele94 It’s not a matter of “thinking too much”. It’s just pure observation which led to this conclusion. Women are by their very nature hypergamy. Just observe, it’s all around.
