IMO we're still 7 to 15 years away from 2nd Coming, Pres Nelson would be 107 or older. Of course this is only my speculation.

Good point. Christ has neen here several times throughout this dispensation. They dont call the Temples the House of the Lord for nothing after all. "Second coming" is just a term which means His final unveiling in the flesh to all the world. In any event, were always at least a minimum of 3 years away, until a worldwide famine begins, afterwhich He'll appear descending out of the clouds.

Well, it depends. First off, I get what you're saying. But I think a few questions that I've contemplated may shed some light, I hope. But first of all, we are making sure we can look at each opinion from correct perspectives without misunderstandings. With that, I assume you're referring to his comments about "cleansing the church" and keeping sin out of peoples lives, along with the cutting of them off or casting them out? The first assumption and place that most peoples minds go in hearing this type of language, is they think these things to be a blanket statement of sorts. As in, "sin and you're gone, no exceptions, no mercy." This is incorrect. You mentioned about more mercy being shown now, and the assumption that he was alluding to less mercy. But to understand this, we need to picture the situations and people which he referred to. Since we're referring to a religious people, there are many huge differences between someone who sins and couldn't care less, has no intentions of changing, cant see what the big deal is, and has no remorse for their actions, be it keeping covenants, drugs and alcohol abuse, adultery, stealing, etc; as compared to someone who has done any of the same things, and wants to make amends, change or repent. This latter person is not who he is referring to; imperfect people who try to do better. He is, however, referring to the person is not only rebellious but also taking others down with them. For a simple example: take two people both with a swearing problem, and for this example, its sunday at church--- One, slips up and cusses even in church sometimes, but feel terrible about it. And the other one, purposely cusses, even at church, and is either trying to get a reaction out of people, or does it and if anyone doesn't like it, its their problem, or is angry feeling others are trying to control them, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.... On one hand we have well intentioned, and on the other is ill intentioned. So now we take this whole perspective, holding it together in understanding, and have to make a choice: And the choice he mentioned is, do we stand up for whats right within the teachings of our religious community and homes and families, or do we pander to the inappropriate attitudes of people who dont *like* keeping commandments, or promises, or covenants, or rules; who dont like the environment the Gospel offers anyways, just because it might offend them, even though they obviously aren't concerned themselves about how theyre offending others? His warning at the end of this discourse, to Bishops and leaders, was, if they stood by and did nothing to correct bad behavior, and allowed it to fester in their congregations, they would be held accountable for the negative influence and consequences. Again, for example, lets say someone was giving a talk in sacrament, and was either lying or being inappropriate or teaching things not true, *and* he did not get up and stop the person when needed, asking them to sit back down, he would have done a major disservice to the families and their children in the congregation. The only lack of mercy in these inappropriate situations, would have been perpetuated by the person whos lack of empathy for a community of people who seek to keep such things out of their lives, and seeks to create contention. Again, in no way was his instructions in keeping such things out of our circle of influence, a blanket statement. In this understanding of what was being taught, there's really not much difference today. We still expect, encourage, and hope that people will keep their promises to God. And if not, that they wont seek to hinder others along their path. All may be welcome at Church, but theyre also welcome to mind their manners. I have seen in extreme cases of repeat offenders, being politely asked to come again next week but to be kind and stop trying to cause problems. That if they can agree to this, then we'd look forward to seeing them again. This all may or may not be what you were referring to. But to anyone who finds this comment, I hope it helps.

@@Saint_nobody That was just my best guess. But I personally know that there is a world of spirits all around us. I see them all the time. You get a feeling every time you see them. I just didn't get that "feeling" when I looked at the picture. But I could be wrong. 🤷😊👍

Satan is loosed for a little season at the end of the 1000 year millennial reign. That means Satan's time of being loosed is a fraction of time of the millennium. Where in the past several thousands years of documented human history does that fit? Where's the math?
