I have two of the side glass but one has a cracked inner glass I’m wondering if it’s pyrex type glass used in laboratories so I could get a custom one cut for myself and replaced. Then I could stick one on the suction line and the liquid line at the same time to let everybody see what’s happening simultaneously

@@coldfinger459sub0 First time using the Mastercool sight glass and recovery machine, both purchases thanks to you. My 1995 vehicle has the high and low ports 8 inches apart with the orifice tube in between, and I was worried about liquid coming out of the low side and wanted the glass close to the ports before the manifold. I came up with a keen way to look at both ports with one sight glass. My couplers can be turned open and closed so I installed a "T" on the low side and ran a 12" YJ hose to the high side. Hooked the glass to the hood so it would be in a vertical position. I'm glad I was cautious because a ton of liquid came out of the low side right away and continued for almost the entire recovery. I adjusted the flow to just fill up half of the glass and not touch the filter on the output end. I mentioned that I would let you know how this turned out. I put the new recovery cylinder in a temperature stable area for a number of days while waiting for a digital gauge to arrive. I got a single YJ gauge that has a P/T chart built in and displays temps and pressure in tenths. It was reading exactly the ambient temperature, so happy to report that I didn't add any air during my recovery. 👍

@@nicholasceea4109 yes, the reason you got so much liquid out your section low side is because that orifice tube has liquid right on the other side of it. As soon as you lower the pressure by recovering the liquid, refrigerant flows right through the tube right to the suction port.

2nd evaporator of the same brand and I swear I must be pulling moisture through a hole that it sucked inward causing a leak. Late last year around Christmas it would barely cool and seemed to always slowly quit cooling and vent air always smelled like feet.

Yes, vent air that smells like feet or old baby diapers or men’s locker room is some of the common bad smells caused by mold and fungus from the condensate moisture in the evaporator case

did you recommend this kind of sight glass? im using my DIY sight with two hoses(small diameter for R290/R600a) 1/4sae, two valves, and standard commercial hvac parker&sporlan sight glass with miosture indicator.

Yes, he’s the type of the moisture in Decatur Spourtland. I know what you’re talking about I have use those.

@@coldfinger459sub0 Your cylinder is little better, cause bigger, you can see more
