another easily missed moment of dialogue from wheatley is when he fixes the crap turrets during your escape, and he's talking about playing cards. if you fuck with the excursion funnel so it hits halfway through the wall, he starts going on about his plan, and you can leave and go back in it and he gets increasingly frustrated with you for ruining his great speeches
"I'm the puppetmaster. I hold the strings. And the cards, still. Got the cards in one hand, got the strings in the other, and I'm making you dance like a puppet... playing cards."
Another easily missed dialogue is during the boss fight when he decides to actually try to fix the facility. (But of course fails, because this is Wheatley we're talking about.)
GLaDOS: “Well, this is the part where he kills us.” Wheatley: “Hello! This is the part where I kill you” Chapter 9: The Part Where He Kills You Achievement Unlocked: The Part Where He Kills You - This is that part Current soundtrack: The Part Where He Kills You
This is a side note, but i love the slight tonal contrast of the two boss fights. GLaDOS is hyper intelligent as an ai so all of her cores have to do with overloading her with information. The one that is constantly spouting out a cake recipe, the one that asks questions constantly out of curiosity, the one that is just pure seething rage. All of wheatleys cores are used to overload him in the same way, but because he was designed to be stupid theyre all meant to overload that stupidity. The core that only cares about space, the core that tries way too hard to be smart and badass, the purple one which is meant to state facts but is just pure self doubt, put downs, and worried thoughts. Its the same fight but tuned differently due to their core programming.
This scene does a really good job at showcasing how Wheatley was supposed to work; this proving that auxiliary cores can, do and will insert there own thoughts into the primary core🤓
@@ItsAsparageese and yet, he uses it to put you on a time limit. Idk how it’s re-enabled here either, but I refuse to give him credit. Instead, let’s just call it a plot hole.
@@terminalvelocityrunner2202 I thought about that when I played through, I don't recall precisely right now but I could have sworn he ended up realizing the neurotoxin wasn't working. Or just assumed it was working when it wasn't. BUT now that I think about it, I did die once ... BUT-BUT I think I just got exploded too much and didn't actually run out of time, so that doesn't tell me if the timer was indeed a neurotoxin death ... CRAP this is gonna bother me now lol. I shall investigate
@@terminalvelocityrunner2202The reactor core exploding was the main danger for most of the fight, they just didn't animate the explosion when you fail.
@@Axodus now that you mention it, that was a major plot point. That Wheatley cripples or destroys literally everything he touches, including vast, labyrinthine ultra high tech facilities and their power supplies. That said, he still utilized neurotoxin, since if I recall correctly he knew about the reactor but still wanted to make sure you died. So how he managed to repair the Neurotoxin Generator we clearly decimated earlier is still a bit of a mystery.
That part where wheatly said it's portal time and portal'd all over the place (edit 1: WHY SO MANY LIKES-) (edit 2: i didnt even beg for likes snd i got this much likes;-;)
Chapter 9: the part where he kills you. Song: the part where he kills you.. Achievement: the part where he kills you Wheatly: the part where I kill you PotatOS: The part where he kills us. You: help me
one of the youtubers who warn about spoilers, and does not just insert them into the video unnecessarily.(even though I already went through Portal 2) you deserve a medal!
I still can’t believe that after the adventure sphere helped take down Wheatley, he became an exo and then later died, got revived, and became a guardian, just to die again later.
I loved the Wheatley boss so much I went through the effort to hear all of his voice lines. He sounds like a class clown who reached the breaking point, he's still very quippy and jokey, but you can tell that he's abnormally serious than he usually is.
the sheer amount of Wheatley’s lines is insane and phenomenal. i always wait around at the turret production line and the neurotoxin generator just to hear them. if you wait by the turret line, he’ll eventually come up with the solution for you. so he’s not a moron! usually.
Not me always hearing this line anway because I love all the personality spheres and wanted to hear them all talk as long as possible everytime and always heard Rick say this.
I really respect putting a spoiler warning on a classic. whilst most obvs what need it, it hurts them nothing to hear it and if it helps even a couple people then thats great :)
