Man, Im a Sony ZV-E10 user as well and I've been exploring the settings too as for now I have tried using the HLG2, Slog2, Slog3 & PP Off and Im definitely gonna try this setting because it be looking that great coming out straight from camera? Great job man.
Hi, we have been shooting most of our footage in our channel using the ZV-E10 on auto mode, but this leads sometimes to over exposure and usually unnessecary high shutter speed. It works for some situations if you need a quick shot,. We will definately take over your settings and see how this works for us. If you want you can check our material :)
I will look into trying this. I haven't had the camera very long and there's quite a few opinions in here on settings making it confusing which is best!
This setting is more about having a good look out of the camera. So you don't have to color grade or color correct too much. But give it a try and let me know ✨✨
Since it's already good out of the camera I don't use color space transform anymore. This is like an S-CINETONE but for 8bit camera's. So if you want to color grade you just create your node and do your grading.
@@itsadrienne2287 you don’t have to color grade in post. This setting is meant for that. Good video straight out of camera. All the video I took with the Sony zv-e10 was not Graded at all. But if you want you can use this setting and add some light color grade.
Hey lovely videos you have made i will say they have definitely convinced me to buy the zv-e10, i have a question surrounding the lenses used, would you say the lens that comes with the camera 16-50 is good enough for cinematic videos? what was your reason to purchase another lens? :)
The reason is simple, Depth Of Field (Background Blur / Bokeh). I think the reason why people hate the kit-lens is that it's not opening wide enough (like f2.8 or F1.8) to have this good bokeh separation, that makes the video look more cinematic depending on the situation. But for me, when I know that I don't need a background blur or bokeh, I'm really happy to use the kit lens. ✨
The kit lens is good but limited, and you can have cinematic video with it but you won't have a good background separation. Which in some cases is not necessary but it's always good to have an F1.8 or F2?8 lens.✨ As I said if you want background blur you have to use faster lenses opening at f1.8 or f2.8.
@@LS-is5ob oh I did it in one of my tik tok videos actually. So if you still interested in it, you can go check it out. My tik tok account is « Jarry Andria » ☘️
Hey man great video! I’m planning to shoot a movie with this camera and I think I’ve also seen a guy who could instantly shoot with letterboxing on the top and bottom. Am I just confusing the camera here? Hope you have an amazing day!
@@imernst7206 actually the black bar on the top is either add in post or it’s the camera resolution. As far as I know camera usually shoot at 16:9 (standard) but it’s once in post that you chose the resolution that you want(2.39:1 for cinematic). If the guy you saw was using a screen monitor then, it’s certainly a monitor feature to show the black bar. But The only camera I know that can do that is the Sony zve1. But you can always use a monitor so you can use the black bars.
@@meetpatel5922 This is a very hard topic. Because even me now I constantly change lenses because of the need. But the lenses that I always keep is the tamron 17-70 f2.8. Other than that It really depends on your need. But let me tell you what I think and you do some research after to find out which suit you better. So At the beginning I would recommend investing in zoom, it’s not only versatile but you will not need more than one lens. I usually recommend Tamron 17-70 and sigma 18-50. When I first bought my first camera (sony zve10) I bought a bunch of fix lenses but I was so annoyed because every time I want different focal length I had to remove swap lenses and it was lots of extra steps that at the end was a lots of step. But if you are doing filmmaking and do no need to constantly change lenses then this is some prime lenses that I can recommend. First Check out the Sigma Trio. At f1.4 you can’t find better lenses. Then Viltrox lenses. Also good for starting. You can always check on RU-vid which is a better lens but those are my opinion about the subject. Hope it helps ☘️
I've never tried editing on my phone but definitely. The file size of this camera lets you edit slower devices or older devices. Actually I use my Sony zv-e10 when I want to take good and quick videos and I edit them on CAPCUT. It's really simple.
@@jarryandriathe file size will depend on the codec you record in. I dont know about the zv but the phone should be fine to edit hd and short 4k 8 bit videos. 10bit on the other hand might make your phone go back to 2nd grade. 😂
@@whitelotustarot7774 You mean the Kit lens ? If it's that then I won't really recommend it for client work. But if you're really beginning then training your composition and editing should be more interesting. Or if money is not a problem then try to buy zoom lens at the beginning (like tamron 17-70 f2.8) then with enough experience with the camera you can go with prime lenses like sigma 16mm - 30mm or 56mm it depends on you. ✨ But if you're talking about the settings, then yes you can, BUT if you know how to color grade maybe go for HLG2 or HLG3 or SLOG2 for more advanced settings. The settings that I showed was more for those who want good look straight out of the camera and just enjoy taking video and keeping a good quality video. ✨
Actually you can use the shutter speed that you like if you need to expose correctly and don't have ND filter. BUUUUT if you want the cinematic look you have to respect the exposure triangle. Meaning that the shutter speed should be double the frame rate (25fps= s1/50). But by doing so you'll have very bright footage outside. So either you use an ND filter and it's great, or you have to crank up your shutter speed, but you'll lose motion blur. Which may be important depending on the situation and your liking ✨
@@jarryandria thanks you so much because your reply. it helped me a lot. many of my previous questions have been answered. I learned more about exposure triangle, motion blur in cinematic look....
@@acequinoy8660 you can use it if you’re not planning on having a heavy color grade. I but you can try first and see if you are satisfied with the result. And then you can do some light color grading. But always remember to expose well.
It applies for those who have Dual Base Iso I guess. As for 8bit camera it’s not necessary as long as you have the RIGHT exposure with your video. ALSO this is an S-CINETONE replica not a log. So the only thing that you should really pay attention to is your exposure ✨
@@jarryandria Auto gives color shifts and it is noticeable. Definitely something I hate dealing with. The only auto feature I use unless I'm shooting night time landscape shots is Superior Auto for photos and my custom picture profile in Shutter Mode for video which keeps things consistent.
How can I expose my video correctly while moving? For steal videos it s not a problem, but when I m moving idk what to do.. if I use auto iso, the MM whil stay at 0.0 which is under exposed
@@sbn0466 Well in that case, you have to use auto ISO and put the minimum at the minimum recommended and the maximum at around 2500. Then you can change the MM value to directly +0.7 or +1.0 in the settings. I do not remember where is it but it should be in the exposition page. You’ll find like Mutli Metering stuff
For the Maw ISO I’ve tried using it at around 6400 but 6400 is when you are really in an environment with little light but usually 2500 is a good spot.
Mr1 is for my saved settings. But it's okay for both. And actually you can save your settings to mr1 so when you switch to photo you won't have the same settings as the video mode. It will be separated.
@@jadensilass it's normal. As I said mr1 is for SAVED settings so your mr1 was saved to intelligent. Go to M and make all the changes then you can save it to Mr1 so next time it'll be the right settings ✨ If you want more information DM me on insta 🍀
I think this camera provides the worst HD footage, since the 100 bit rate is only available at 100fps, the other HD formats are complete waste. And 4k footage has the dreaded rolling shutter problem. My low budget DSLR gives me more detail in HD.. if you know how to get best hd quality output then please share with me brother.. Actually this camera is a gimmick..
I don’t really know actually. I’ve barely used HD so I can’t confirm that. But as far as I know 4k is pretty good ✨ better have 4k then export into HD.
