I made your pie crust and my family loved it. I always go to your channel first for recipes.....BECAUSE....you put the recipe in the description.....I get upset when I have to constantly pause the video just get the recipe. Thank you for that!!
This is hands down the best pie crust I've ever tried. I've used it for countless apple pies (and some berry pies mixed in) over the years and it has always been extremely well received. I add some cinnamon (especially if I used it for an applie pie) as well as some vanilla sugar to give it some extra flavour, but it also works just fine as is.
Great recipe, my dear! As a baker for many years, I really enjoy your channel. Great recipes, lighting, video skills, and another increasingly rare quality, your professionalism. Your pleasant appearance (no nose rings, tattoos, or blue/pink hair) and your lovely voice is SO appreciated. You speak without overuse of the word "like." Your voice is easy to listen to, not nasal or squeaky high-pitched, but most of all you speak with no vocal fry or upspeak at the end of your phrases. You don't sound like you're always asking a question. You don't seem unrealistically excited or phony. You sound very pleasant, yet mature and professional. THANK YOU.
Great recipe. Using sour cream and no water is the secret to getting consistency. I use this recipe for making fried pies. Works great and super simple.
I’m glad you scaled up this recipe. I used the original portions the first time, but I’m really looking forward to trying it again with the little more dough!
Oh my goodness, this pie crust is perfect! It baked up so beautifully, and tasted amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, my family loved it!❤
I was going to buy a couple of pie crusts for the holidays and decided that yours looks so much better! Looking forward to using yours because I like to make mini pies and pies of different sizes and I like that i get to determine how thick the crust is! Thank you! Your recipes are clearly a hit here at our house when I make them! Even the people I've shared them with love them too!
You make me smile. I will have to give this a try. I admit that I have been scared to try pie crust, someone told me they are difficult. But, you explain it well, and I do have this new food processor. ;-)
Sure this will work for just about any recipe that needs a pie crust. It can be made by hand you’ll just need to be careful to get your butter cut up and worked in without warming it up too much. A pastry cutter should work well here. 😊
I doubled your recipe for a traditional apple pie crust. Needed to add a couple Tablespoons of water. Easy to roll out, It turned out to be so delicious and beautiful as well. Thank you!
I've only ever used Martha (you-know-who's) recipe for pie crust. But i like you MUCH MORE than she 💜😉 So, Sam's pie crust recipe, it is, from this holiday forward!
I thought the secret ingredient was cold vodka. It does make it flaky. I've never heard of sour cream before🤔. I wonder if yogurt would work the same🤔?? I'll have to try if I ever get a home and a kitchen.
@@SugarSpunRun ok thank you. I will have to try it both ways to see what the difference is if there is any. It may take awhile but I'll get back to you and let you know. Thanks for all the great recipes!
I know this is an older recipe of yours, but i have used a similar recipe and always had a problem with it shrinking when I blind bake. Do you ever have this problem with this recipe.
It takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process (there’s no fussing with various amounts of ice water like most recipes use). It also adds depth of flavor.
