I love his needless denial of EVERYTHING this episode. He made literally everyone who crossed his path overthink his task, and continued to deny it even when he finished the task
im almost convinced the task he showed on screen was a decoy but like.... why. i havent watched everyones POV yet but why is his secret a different colour to everyone elses? does anyone else have the red one instead??? im 👀
@@emryspaperartI think the colour is to do with the type of task. But what the different types are is still unclear to me. It could be scaled to how interaction dependant it is, but it could also be about the danger, or even about the normal intent in other series. Big B has a task that involves no social interaction, that could do a lot of hearts of damage if he accidentally finds a cave, and that would definitely be a trap if it was in any other series. My money is on the latter reason, with it being about the normal purpose/intent, but time will tell.
@@cid_of_krebsI'm pretty sure it's a glitch and he got a task for red lifers, the challenges are meant to encourage socialising but this task could be used as a very nice death trap, which red lifers love killing people
@@cid_of_krebs: I noticed that too, and he delayed reading it as well. Not to mention that Grian said over on his channel that task suggestions are all supposed to be social. Also, there's the fact that "all the way down" seriously implies to bedrock, but BigB just decides to halfass it when the going got even a little difficult. I'm really wondering if the red task means he was supposed to keep it a secret even from the audience and we are all being gaslit.
After watching Grian and Scar's videos, finding out that your gaslighting was completely independent of the already-complete task was just the icing on the cake.
No literally it was so perfect and he really pushed the weird, awkward, and suspicious vibe that this season is giving. Now most of them are just acting plain sus 24/7 despite the tasks 😂
Okay, but is no one talking about how poetic Jimmy being the first one to take damage is, as well as Scar being the only one to fail his task, they keep up a trend in every life series and I love it
He completed his task, got his hearts back, and then promptly lost back down to like 19. I was really hoping Jimmy wasn’t going to be Jimmy this season, but at this point I’m not optimistic. Come on Jim! Get it together! BigB, Messing with grian, A+.
I came into this POV thinking your challenge must have been like "tell absolutely zero truth the entire episode", and I really wanted to see what the angle was but you're just doing it for the love of the game, and I respect that.
@@Orion_44 oh hey! no i do recognize you, you've commented on some of my first videos and I think my latest one. Funny seeing you here, but the venn diagram isn't so odd
That being said that would be a GREAT task and I can't believe no one (from the povs I've seen) guessed that his task was just to lie or be secretive lmao
@@AngyFirebomb Yeah my guess is that red tasks are this season's version of boogeyman, and that the next episode he'll get a task to drop someone down the hole or something
“Okay, so.. big hole. His task is big hole then?” “Hold on. Why is he being so weird???” “HOW THE HELL DID HE JUST DISAPPEAR?!” “WHAT IS THIS MAN’S TASK????”
I love that from povs like Grian's or Jimmy's, BigB's actions look so lore implied and cryptic. Meanwhile, in reality, BigB just having a great time gaslighting every one for no reason:
labyrinth of doors. Since the floor of the base is cobble and stone, maybe it could even have a secret navigation system? Like, follow doors with cobble right next to them to get to the exit?
@@Well_ItsChaos oh he’s grown another one? back in hermitcraft season 7 he said that he and scar combined have two braincells. that’s good to know, braincells is a great thing, the more the merrier
Grian losing his mind from Bigb's gaslighting was the highlight of this entire series so far. i desperately want this to be a trend for the series it would be so funny
The fact that a simple hole provided so much ground for content is hilarious. I literally came here to see what this hole was about because I got more and more confused the more POVs I watched that had encounters with that hole. And from Jimmy's POV I was actually half convinced that the hole could teleport because BigB was just gone. Truly a magical hole. Edit: wow, this is the first comment of mine that got more than 10 likes. Glad you like it! :)
Not even lying, I’ve probably never seen a single one of his videos ever, but the utter confusion I saw from like three other perspectives made me visit his channel just to figure out what his role was Lol.
“All the way down” is open to interpretation. It could mean “All the way down to the nearest cave.” I recommend putting water in the bottom of your pit so that you don’t accidentally take damage entering your secret base.
"All the way down" in minecraft can only mean one thing when you're talking about digging holes. Even the way it was written, "Dig a 3 x 3 hole. All the way down." It put emphasis on all the way down because we all know what that means. I think bigb just wanted to be done because digging a hole is boring, and I can't really blame him for that, however I also think he should have taken the fail instead of interpreting the task as loosely as he felt like.
All that I said above being said, another way to look at this is that since he fully committed to gaslighting everyone else about the hole he dug, he could be considered to have completed a social task. Granted, it's a task he gave HIMSELF for no apparent reason, but still it fits in perfectly with the social element of the game whereas just straight up digging a hole does not. From this perspective, I feel fine with granting BigB a W for this session.
I feel like if the task meant bedrock, it would have said bedrock. All of these tasks have a focus on the social element. I feel like the point of "all the way down" is just so when other people come across the hole it's deep enough to freak them out. whether that's 50 blocks, or 80, or 130, doesn't really matter.
The more I look at these tasks, the less random they seem. At the very least, they are chosen for each day because several people got base building tasks. And for some reason, Big is the only one that the animation for getting the task had RED paper instead of white. Somethings going on here and it might be tied to the symbol on the secret keepers face.
I don't know, but I think the red paper might have been a glitch, it's probably not supposed to be red until player are at their last life. Grian did say that players on their last life will get "special" tasks. I'm assuming that means they'll get tasks that are dangerous for other players. But yeah, they're probably chosen for each day. It's hard to say how random they are, but considering one task was "follow Gem for ten minutes", and another was "get Scar to talk about Star Wars" they can't be that random. Since they can name specific players in the tasks they at least have to have a system that makes sure they don't get tasks about themselves. And Lizzie got a task which would have been a lot more difficult and funny for anyone else, since she has her husband on there that task was way too easy for her and didn't seem all that random. Etho got a task that was not at all suited to be a day one task though, but it would have been fairly easy later on, so I don't know.
I think the 2nd episode could clear more up on this task system confusion. I don't know if the red paper is intentional or not, but if you see it as such then it might mean something to the wider narrative I initially thought that 1 person each session would have such a task, which would be non-descript and required to be kept a secret permanently, but BigB's demeaner throughout makes this hard to judge.
BigB you gotta keep the high level gaslighting going, like do SUPER random things that people think is your task but just blow it off when they talk about it. Also with the Cori-door you should put in HUNDREDS of doors, at all different levels throughout the room (some on ground level, some you can’t reach because they’re 3 blocks high, etc), that would mess with people so hard
Two lovers, forbidden from one another A war divides their people And a mountain divides them apart Built a path to be together Yeah, and I forget the next couple lines but uh, then it goes Secret tunnel Secret tunnel Through the mountain Secret, secret, secret, secret Secret tunnel Secret tunnel Through thе mountain Secret, secrеt, secret, secret tunnel, yeah
@@pencils7351 I was praying for someone to say this!! Can’t believe everyone missed the opportunity LOL it even has the same amount of syllables with Ba Sing Se and BigB’s Base
i absolutely love how committed BigB is to the Secret life compared to the others. I love the bit where he just hid from Jim cuz in Jimmy’s pov, B just disappeared. This was gold XD
Task suggestion: For every person you meet, tell them 'the number of hearts you have'. Except, for every person you meet, you have to say a different amount. If they figure out what you're doing, then you fail.
I want Bigb to make a cult around the hole just because of how he keeps describing it to others throughout the episode. You should just have doors that lead to random holes and have like candles scattered throughout and just make it super creepy. You can have a room that is just a shrine to the big hole
I've never seen a BigB episode or video on anything, but after watching everyone else's perspectives, I just NEEDED to know what the heck BigB's task was because he was being SO SUS about everything and I was so confused. 😂❤ Finding out that he was just being confusing for no reason at all was the cherry on top. Please continue to do so.
He dug until he could dig no more, task complete! Also, I don't wanna watch someone on a social game server be stuck alone, having to dig all the way to bedrock, while everyone else has fun. The task almost felt like a (boring, no pun intended) punishment, so the idea of punishing BigB for not going to bedrock despite the wording being so ambiguous seems genuinely mean-spirited to me. I'm also glad he committed to the lies and being enigmatic, it was the best content and came purely from his mind rather than from a bad task (sorry Grian, but that was both brutal and boring for ep1, I'm not sure it should have been in the mix this early)! (edited for a typo)
This series s actually genius cause 30 hearts will probably make it much longer and the tasks being secret gives you even more of a reason to watch everyone’s perspectives
I agree. Whoever came up with the concept is a genius since it’s making everyone act so weird and entertaining. Plus the bonus of wanting to see everyone’s video to see what their secret is. It’s also hilarious watching other people’s pov and wondering why people are acting a certain way. For example, Skizz acting like a creep. That was funny to see all sides of that.
2 things: 1. Why was your secret scroll that showed on screen a different colour to everyone else's I have watched? 2. I would have dug a 3x3x3 hole and put a sign on the bottom of it that says 'all the way down'. So considering you did what you did I would call it a pass. You went as far as you could go down without it taking the whole episode if it were to bedrock. Great episode BigB. 😊
I saw another comment saying it might have been a glitch- BigB was accidentally given a red name task It makes sense to me, because that hole can be used as a task. But its just an idea *shrug*
@@OrcaGamer88 I rewatched it and didn't notice any other graphics being wrong or the wrong colour in his episode compared to others hence why I think it is purposeful. I could be wrong though. 😊 I am thinking maybe each episode a random person will get given the red scroll and it will be a ludicrous sounding task that maybe has a loop hole if you think creatively. His so far (out of who I have watched, about 10 or so perspectives so far) has been the only 1 that has seemed like it was a non social task, as in like including others. Which I know Grian wants the tasks to be good for content and include other players if possible. I guess we will find out next week if someone else gets a red task. My brain likes to find patterns and odd things out so just trying to keep an open mind with ideas! But you are right, it could just be a glitch. 😊
@@dabadllama yeah, that's a good point. This whole thing adds an extra layer of excitement to the series XD, I can't wait for Episodes 2 to figure this out
if you notice at the beginning his animation has a red paper instead of white. It probably means that his task is special in some way (it's also seemingly pointless compared to the others? Maybe the purpose of the hole will become apperant in later episodes?). Digging all the way down to the bedrock is a difficult task so I understand if he doesn't want to do it (and it would make the video super boring)
Maybe it has some sort of lore significance eventually? Also, Grian was saying he wanted a way to get to the End in this map so maybe there's some tasks relating to that as well? I noticed this too and based on the Evo references this might be a very lore-y series, I'm excited for all the theories
i watched so many other perspectives of people interacting with bigb, saving this video for last in order to confuse myself even further- i love how the gaslighting wasn't even part of the task and yet he just kept on being so suspicious 😭😭
To further gaslight people you should cover the hole with stone, dig out the cave a bit further, and create a 3x3 square of cobblestone at the end that looks like it's covering the hole. At some point someone is bound to try and open it up and be really confused 😂
I agree with this. It is important for these challenges to be articulate. This task did not use a measurable term like “all the way down to bedrock”, but rather, used a more vague term.
@@WGGplanttbh that task in itself wouldve been pretty ridiculous to do for how much of the session it wouldve eaten up. bedrock is a lot further down than it used to be. it wouldve been his whole episode
@@WGGplantwhile it is self explanatory, he could pass due to technicality since it didn’t specify how deep. For example, people could interpret it as all the down to the caves or end portal.
Yo BigB! When Timmy caught you in the hole, he did say, “What are you doing ALL THE WAY DOWN there?”! You definitely got that task done! Great video, and looking forward to next time!
HIM LEAVING THE ANCIENT DEBRIS ALMOST MADEME PULL MY HAIR OUT UNTIL I SAW HIM HOLDING IT AFTER, I WAS BOUTTA GO CRAZY RIGHT THEN Anyway loved his gaslighting and just feralness in this episode would loveto see this across the series 😊
I think there was a bug, and he got a task that was supposed to be for people with red names, not something for the first episode. That would explain the red icon, and why pretty much every other task has something to do with social interactions, and BigB has to dig a hole all alone. I also checked Scar's video, hard tasks do not have a red animation, so it's not a hard task. So for all the people saying he didn't complete his task properly, he shouldnt have gotten this task at all, it's fine.
Task ideas! -convince another player to change their skin for at least one episode -only eat uncrafted/uncooked food for half the session -act as an assigned players bodyguard (help them and prevent them from taking damage) for twenty minutes -steal an item from at least three people without being caught -make a major change to someone else's base -break up an alliance -kidnap a pet -craft and wear all leather armour -convince another player to tell you their task -entirely tear down any base and rebuild it somewhere else
I love how BigB managed to gaslight everyone that questioned his BIG hole, even though his task was just to make the hole and not to.. you know, do anything else with it, like spleef. It was so funny to get here, after Grian's video just to see that his task was simply to dig the hole and nothing else
I came straight from Grian's episode as his interactions with you were the absolute highlight of his episode and had me crying of laughter! I desperately needed to see what your task was. lmao Your secondary task of gaslighting was h i l a r i o u s. Well done!! Looking forward to next week! By the way, your task was red! 2:15 Everyone else's that I've seen so far was beige. I wonder what that signifies?
I noticed that too and have commented it and have been looking for another comment mentioning the secret scroll colour difference!!!! Wonder what it means too.
I feel like it being a big hole is pretty vague and I would definitely say you completed the task! Impulse's task was... to make Cherry Wood his whole personality and he wasn't entirely sure how to complete it either!
I don't think it was that vague. All the way down means "down, all the way." The obvious way you are down all the way in minecraft is bedrock. You can interpret it as vague if you don't want to do the work, because even he was thinking bedrock until he ran across the cave.
Grian and the other RU-vidrs will judge if it was enough. I definitely thought "All the way down" meant bedrock, but everyone else seems fine with giving him the benefit of the doubt. It was a weird challenge for sure, and quite boring. I can understand/respect why he wanted to stop.
The gaslighting was amazing, haha. I'm not sure on the task - it wasn't super clear. You did dig really deep down and it didn't specify hitting bedrock. But I feel like maybe at least get to deepslate? If you get rid of that bottom layer though then that cave was deepslate I think?
i just kept laughing through this episode, the way that you kept denying anything and everything that you were doing this session to the utter confusion of EVERYONE was so good. excited to see how far you'll go this season, good luck BigB!
Its so becoming a Scooby Doo themed Corridor. All the passages should inter connect so you go in one and come out another! That episode should be called Corridoor Craze
"All the way down" is all the way down -- to bedrock. That said, I think you should leave the first level "floor" where it is and continue to dig down to bedrock in the cave underneath. Then your secret base will have a secret base of its own.
This is why the honor system works. The task is worded "all the way down". All the way down to... inevitable peril? Sure! If it's impossible to go further, that's that On the other hand, Etho had a task that was impossible without doing extra work that wasn't specified in his task, distributing beds to players. If he hadn't invented extra work for himself, would it be fair to say he "succeeded" just because he hit a wall? Following this precedent, BigB should have invested more time and energy into digging further down. But ! on the OTHER hand . . . Etho's task specified "four" beds exactly. We would be making a very different comparison if his said "collect all the beds". ANd that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what we are dealing with here. "All the way down" is not a complete sentence. In order to be followed it must be interpreted. The interpreter of BigB's task is himself. He walks a free man :)
while i'd usually be inclined to say all the way down means to bedrock, i think just going as far as you can is fine because it makes better content. its not your fault it didnt specify how far to go!
All I can say is: Imagining this series being completed similar to taskmaster where contestants constantly say "Well, the task didn't say I *couldn't* do this" and I am so here for it.
I say this was def a pass! People reacted to the big hole in perfect fear which says enough about how deep it is. Besides, the gaslight arc is just too good to say you didnt pass lol
so with the "all the way down" part of your secret task, i think it's deep enough it WILL kill someone falling into it, that goes all the way down pretty deep
Coming from Grian’s perspective, finding out Bigb’s task had noting to do with lying, gaslighting, or otherwise making other players lose their minds is WILD.
OK, this is hilarious! I totally think "all the way down" was supposed to mean all the way to bedrock. But then BigB gas lighting everyone else is so much fun that it more than makes up for it.
I'm inclined to interpret it as "down to bedrock", but you also got it done so early that you clearly would have finished it that way too, if it was more clear/strict
however since the task was on red paper, it seems special. It might be best to stay on the safe side of "playing along" and finish it to bedrock for good measure
But that makes for a terrible video... it does make sense for it to be down to bedrock but it doesn't feel like the task too well thought out in the first place since it would be dangerous and take like the whole session, meaning he wouldn't be able to interact with anyone or gather any resources. Would you want to watch a whole video of someone sitting in a 3x3 hole on their own digging all the way down to bedrock? I feel like it should've been a hard task if the hole definitely *had* to go all the way down to bedrock so there should be some leniency. And as grian said, the rules in this series are merely suggestions.
@@AndrewBrownK yeah i mean i totally dont blame them for one or two vague or weaker tasks or anything! but i feel like its definitely an honour thing to judge themselves whether they've completed some of the tasks, like with impulses challenge too
Don't worry about the task, It doesn't seem very well thought out. It was dangerous, it would've taken the whole episode, you wouldn't have gotten anything else done, wouldn't have met with anyone, and overall it didn't seem very fun. That task probably should've been one of the harder ones, if not removed. It just doesn't seem very fair for anyone to expect you to do that while everyone else had such simple tasks that could be completed in a minute or less.
Ethos was down to the wire! Only one did theirs in seconds and that’s because they had help. It wouldn’t have taken that long, and I think the task was meant for later when they had gear, but it still was easy to do, especially for the crazy rewards he got. He never dropped as low as many other players hearts. I understand sympathizing, but I don’t think it fair to the other players.
@@It-b-Blair yeah the comment was definitely hyperbolic talking about others tasks but with the whole idea of the series being people making videos for entertainment, who would want to watch a video of someone digging a 3x3 hole all the way down to bedrock? Considering how deep bedrock is now and how early it is in the series (literally stone tools), the task feels a little unfair and isolating to "fully" complete since he essentially wouldn't have an episode for people to watch, he wouldn't have got a chance to interact with anyone else, and would be at a huge disadvantage in resource gathering. Essentially I feel like it should've been at least a hard task if they dont allow some leniency in the depth of the hole...
@@the-arctic-wolf1438 Considering a bunch of people came to question the hole, I think it would have been plenty social. You dig a hole like that to bedrock, plenty of people are going to come in confusion and lots of social situations would ensue, as they did. A 3x3 to bedrock doesn't taken that long. And if someone with a water bucket came by a hole while he was still digging it, I'm pretty sure they would use the bucket to get down if they couldn't see the bottom, just so they could see what was going on down there, so I don't think the process would be isolating either. Humans are curious.
I feel the "All the way down comment" is referring to how wide the hole needs to be as opposed to how far it needs to go. Starting 3x3 and then going to 1x1 or even it just having a small section in the middle that's 2x2 *doesn't count* but not required to bedrock, just far enough to lose a life if you fall in.
That's a really good interpretation, it makes the fact that it was described as a "big" hole make a lot more sense. Why call it big if you're going to give it a set width AND depth?
I read the task as digging all the way to bedrock, but I think that's unreasonable. You only have so much time in an episode, and making you spend all your time digging is not fair and doesn't make for good content. What you did, digging far down and then using the hole to mess with everyone's heads, was hilarious, and I call it a success!
I interpreted the task to mean you need to dig down to bedrock, but you did dig down to the point you couldn't really dig any farther so I think it should count. Plus the rules around eveything weren't super clear yet so there should be some extra wiggle room as well.
Grian: gah!? A tunnel to the Secert Keeper? At this time of the day ? In this part of the server? Entirely located in your hole?🤨 Big B: Yes😀 Grian:can I see it?😯 Big B: No.😶
Best episode I've seen from anyone so far. Love how you mess with everyone. Also, hole is fine. It's all about content and no way should you have to dig to bedrock. That would've taken the entire time allotment, which would have been an awful video.
The mechanical difference between his current dig and one that goes to bedrock is straight up negligible, except for the fact that he'd have had to spend 50% longer getting up and down. It hit a logical stopping point and nobody would have reacted to it any differently if it was any deeper.
Yay, it's so good to see you here again! Nice job faking everybody out and great start to your base and the corri-door! Rooting for you to win this one!
"All the way down" was 100% intended as "dig to bedrock". Could even go to the lowest bedrock for extra measure. Where you had to start, idk. I would've gone down into that ravine and started digging there
Hilarious episode! It would be funny to continue to be mysterious the rest of the series lol. Also maybe the corridor of doors could help with acting secret. You could put doors in random places around your base to make others confused.
