There is a scene in Ep2 in which you see the Portal Fish ask King Gamoh where they want to go. If you look in the background, you see portals to ALL OF THE UNIVERSES behind the Portal fish, indicating that this central hub was outside of the multiverse, and linked to all of them. (This was in the waystation between the demon realm and Universe 7). So yes, the Demon Realm is outside of any universe, and can travel (via portal) to any of the 16 universes.

Maybe Toriyama just never gave a fuck about keeping some deep consistent lore and just did whatever it would be more fun

In the funimation dubbed guru tells Frieza that Nail was trained in the ancient ways. In traditional martial arts they greatly integrate history and lore in the training. So yeah Nail would definitely know a lot of hidden history of Namekians.

Just a guess but when Freiza was resurrected, Emperor Pilaf, Mai, and Shu were there when the wish was made and they should count as "regulars" so shenron probably thought thats Friezas men are with them? Pilaf and the others have been in front of Shenron for a few wishes. Just a theory anyone else have any ideas? I'dive to hear anyone's thoughts?

I'm gonna be real, I love these times, I missed the days of looking forward to the next DB episode. When Super comes back, Moro, Granolah, MORE, hundreds of weeks, multiple years. I hope everyone cherishes these moments, cause one day, we'll look back and miss them.

You can go from the demon realm to any place in any universe. I bet the bottom of the illustration is how you get back to the demon realm and every universe is setup similarly

I think we have to think a little laterally. Just because it’s said that people with pointy ears are mostly from the demon realm that does not mean that current die characters are (i.e. the Heaters). It could just mean their ancestors came from the demon realm.

You can see it as both All the bottoms of every Universe is a nexus point that all connect to a singular Universe "The Demon Universe" Which would've been much easier for demons to travel and or escape to in the past.

They got 3 wishes in super because pilaf gang is no stranger to Shenron they are part of the gang now as gag characters

There is a way to make the Resurrection F wish contradiction work in both anime and movie. Pilaf and gang made a wish prior to become younger, so they may have been considered "regulars" and not a new face., so when they requested a second (or third) wish, shenron approved. Also, you didn't mention it but Moori in the Granolah arc explained that namekians come from a different universe, so that sort of proves your nail theory that namekians from namek are familiar with their origin but the nameless namekian, who came to earth as a child, was not.

I felt the Kibito Kai defusion is a retcon, but the Kai's coming from the Demon Realm was surprising. It's good to see more lore on The Namekians origins.

11:50 You bring up a good point about Shin not needing the spaceship to get from Kaioshin Realm to Universe 7, but we haven't technically been to the core planet when we see Kid Boo vs Goku. So perhaps the Core Planet exists within the Kaioshin realm, but in order to leave Core Planet to go to the rest of Kaioshin realm or Demon realm or the living universe, they need some form of permission or way to pass through. This makes sense because they have to go through proceedings to leave or enter the demon realm. Otherwise Makaioshin born on Core Planet could just go to Cosmos or Living Universe, when they're clearly meant to go to Demon Realm. Kibitos comment about a regular spaceship not working also makes me think there is a special way to get from Core planet to other parts of the universe.

Pilaf is for sure why the Shenron gave more than one wish they are some of the oldest wishers and usually get the monkey's paw treatment.

I vaguely remember there being a demon realm in the original dragonball series. I remember kid Goku fighting a prince of the demon realm and I remember him traveling there as well I believe. Its been years since i've seen it but I remember.

So many people argue that this is filler, this is canon, this is a spin off I'm just watching for the entertainment and only challenge once it's done

I think episode 2 was a setup for future events. Basically, preparation for us to be able to enjoy peace on Earth and go to the Demon Realm to dive into a new world. I'm really looking forward to Glorio or Panzy telling us about it. But so far I can't say that I really "didn't like" anything. I'm really looking forward to episode 3.

Always enjoyed your in depth work and love for Dragon Ball & more, it's helped me appericate one of my favorite francises even more. I've been able to have deep dicussions with people about Dragon Ball by using the knowlodge gained from watching your videos. Is it okay if I ask, and I appologise if I'm being a pain for it, how you edit/construct your videos? It's probably a big ask, I just want to learn how to become a great RU-vidr like yourself, learning how to best record, how to edit and where to find sources to help such as, for example: looping back grounds, moving images, etc, etc. I'm sure you can't explain everything to me, I'm not asking that, just a few pointers would be enough for me. Once again, sorry if I'm bothering you at all with my question. I just wanna learn from the best of the best and hopfully make content good enough to at least make one person's day a little bit happier. Remember yall every universe has its twin; its reflection. Meaning the namekians as a hole would choose both realms regardless, and it could have been more "choose quickly" than "strategic retreat". Meaning it was inevitable as both U6 and U7 are intertwined.

In Resurrection 'F' Pilaf summoned Shenron not Sorbet. Perhaps that allowed for more than one wish.

the dialogue in the episode suggests that the planet with the tree the kais come from, if it is still a part of their origin, is outside of the universes, meaning it is some sort of different realm separate from the universes

I could just imagine them doing something like... it said that there are three demon realms, or like three layers to the Demon Realm, and it is somewhere in between the multiverse, like there is only one in the entire multiverse, but... Imagine this: What if they change things and make it to where each universe in Dragon Ball has three demon realms or three layers of their own versions of the Demon Realm and each of these three from all of the universes connects to another greater realm below all of those which is like a bigger and more vast Demon Realm area and there is another one below that, and maybe *THE* Ruler of all of those realms is under there and he controls each area and layer of the Demon Realm going up and all of these kings and monarchs, people who rule places in the Demon Realm like Gomah is king, and then Glorio saying that there is a Third Demon King or whatever, of each layer has its own ruler, and there is one ruler above everyone else, kind of like Annihilus in Marvel where he rules the Negative Zone and he us the Boss, BOSS, type of character, but there are Queens and Kings who have their own territory, but still answer to Annihilus because he is above them. Something like that where there is a greater ruler than the Demon Kings and other rulers. Maybe they can use something like that to make Janemba canon or something like that. Tell me what you all think.

I'm glad toriyama decided to go with the better version of the idea over just keeping things the same. Having the demon realm be multiversity is a cooler idea which in sure he evolved from his original idea to fit the multiversity

2:50 given how flippant Shenron was about the number of wishes. I don’t think it’s some sort of rule that certain people get more wishes, more so that Shenron has more autonomy than generally thought and can give up to 3 wishes as he himself dims fitting.

Neva might have secretly commanded Shenron to give only 1 wish this time. (Neva might be wiser than he's letting on and didn't want to give King Gomah 3 wishes.)

I have been debating that Ressurection F contradiction with Shenron allowing Sorbe to get three wishes even though he was new. Now, people have told me that Shenron was granting three wishes because it was the Pilaf gang who summoned Shenron, and they have used the Dragon Balls before, and I can understand that reasoning, but I don't think that that is the case because yes, they were the ones to summon Shenron, but it was Sorbe who made the wish and then after the wish was made Shenron was talking to Sorbe when he was saying, "You have two more wishes left." So Sorbe was at least able to make three wishes, granted he didn't make the other two wishes because they were made the members of the Pilaf gang, but the point is that Shenron was still allowing Sorbe to make more wishes, so Sorbe was at least able to make more wishes. Anyway, if it was in line with Shenron only granting one wish to a new individual, then I would imagine Shenron, after bringing Frieza back to life, he would be like, "Your wish has been granted. You only get one wish because you are new." Then he turns to the Pilaf gang, and he is like, "There are two wishes remaining. What are your wishes?" Something like that. So that is why I still question the Shenron stuff with Ressurection F, even though it was the Pilaf gang who summoned Shenron.

Didn't Chronoa mention that the Demon Realm was closed off/locked away from the other realms after the Machikabura/Demigra incidents for the time Kaioshin position. In Xenoverse/Dragon Ball Heroes? I'm pretty sure one of Towa's big motivations is unlocking the seal to allow the Demon Realm to be open to other universes or something like that.

important thing people need to know is retcons like many things can be done either well or poorly, they are not inherently negative or anything of that sort

My personal approach is to forget the guidebooks and just focus on watching the show. We can talk about contradictions to the manga or anime, but guidebooks and supplemental material to me, personally, only count when it makes its way to the show/manga and not the other way around.

I think he works for Daburas dad. I believe he is alive looking at the intro trailer. They show 3rd eye and some of the henchman have symbols of third eye outlined with a demon face. Horns and goatee. Mayne he lives and still calls himself king. Also Glorio seems like maybe he is being forced not willing. Maybe owes him a debt or has family at stake.

Setting it before Super feels like a double edged sword but looking forward to where it leads.

I could be way off but I’m getting the vibe there’s a lot of stuff that wasn’t quite as thought out as Toriyama would have liked, or other concepts from other people that he thought were good, and he was trying to incorporate that into daima.

Can we all just take a moment to look at how both this series and Super have taken things from GT while still leaving out the best part of that series being what could happen if you abuse the dragon balls that being the corruption of the dragon and the evil dragons that came from their overuse That and them missing the best chance they had to bring the Supreme Kai Of Time into the main series from the games.

Xenoverse might have major influence I see major similarities in Characters and in the direction of the demon world lore Especially since akira toriyama wrote the story for xenoverse 2 which heavily explores the demon world villians of the xenoverse universe Also leads me to believe some time reality manipulation will happen which also gives me hope for super saiyan 4 if that is implemented

Anyway, after re-analzying Episode 2, the Demon Realm most likely exist beyond the universe and one can travel via portal to any of the 16 universe. This would explained U6 Namekians consist of a large population and Yimuzu(the Yardratian from the TOP) came to U2.

Maybe the wish granting is based on the summer not the wisher. Pilaf summered shenron so multiple wishes whereas in Broly it was a newcomer as the summoner.

02:23 Shenron could just have sensed that these guys were putting Dende in danger by how scared and confused he was and how he was unnaturally brought, he already demonstrated with Beerus that he can change his behavior based on fear and personality, even though before with king piccolo he pretty much stood there to die, which could have changed shenron's neutral personality Shenron also broke the "fair rules" by giving an extra transformation gift to Piccolo in Super Hero, he himself stated it was a gift, so his magic has room for what he actually wants. Not a canon explanation but a very reasonable one. It was a compromise to make a gag that doesn't really ruin everything, Shenron just changed gradually. It's not much different than Whis saying he can't mess with time... while messing with time in RoF or bating an eye together with Beerus in the Trunks saga, they are inserting their agency in the rules and maybe sometimes they just can.
