Thank you to everyone that has come over from my main channel, it always felt wrong not showing you lot more real time stuff as this project has captured the furze audiance like no other, so subscribe as the next video wont be far away. Edit: New Mining tee's are getting down in stock so grab one while you can Thanks for coming over to the 2nd channel, new update video wont be to far away so subscribe for more regular tunnel content. Also New phase 2 mining Tee's are getting low so grab one while you can www.colinfurzeshop.com
The second rule of Minecraft is, never dig straight up! Absolutely love the slightly more relaxed production quality, behind the scenes feel! I subscribed so fast!
5:37 If only there were a hat you could wear to protect yourself from falling debris, something with a hard shell to stop you getting clobbered. We could call it a hardhat and sell them to construction companies and secret, tunnel mining dwarves everywhere. We'd make a fortune 😂
After taking a break from all this im sure its rough to start again, but we REALLY appreciate this build. This is literally the king of ideas a kid could want to do as an adult. Cheers from the US!
As a tunnelling engineer, the amount of safety violations here are incredible. Colin, please wear a hard hat and take care. These safety measures are written in blood. Aside from that, I love the content and it's really fun to watch.
He's got his safety tie and safety squints. Jokes aside, Colin is well aware of the safety implications of everything he is doing. He takes calculated risks, but he is at least aware of what he is risking. There is no point in telling him he isn't being as safe as he could be because he already knows that and has accepted it.
@@0xRy4nWearing a hard hat really would not hurt. Its mad to not wear one. And a really bad example. A few euros and a tiny bit of uncomfort could eliminate alot of risk.
I mean why wouldn't he? He's had like a year off from doing the tunnel lol and he must get insane amounts of money from his channels. I imagine he does a heck of a lot less heavy labor than actual heavy labor jobs, and earns a lot more.
Waffle on, Colin, it is interesting listening to the thought process & dangers that you face doing this awesome project. This is the 'in depth' channel and there is never "too much Furze".
Lincolnshire people have always been working this unsafely dude, as "safe" is not in their vocabulary, just look at their perfectly-straight roads for more info.
Something that I find as equally impressive as the scope & execution of this entire project is - the strength of those bucket handles! How have they not broken while winching up??
This tunnel series is honestly one of my favorite things to watch, ever. I could watch this project forever and not complain once. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to actually be doing it! Ro be able to move about one's property unseen is a dream. It's like a basement that never ends. The ultimate hide and go seek house!
My best mate Paul turned me onto you, he loved your silly childlike enthusiasm for the love of building stuff, unfortunately he’s no longer with us but I get a real comfort watching you do your thang! Paul would have loved this channel, keep doing what you do, absolutely fantastic inspiration.
When I was younger I always dreamed of doing something very similar to this when I finally bought a home, 30 years of life and two kids later I realize that it's never happening 😂....so thank you Collin for letting me live out my childhood dream through your videos you are truly an inspiration good sir!!!
It is really frightning to see the the house and garage foundation from its bottom. I hope nothing bad happens from this. Go on Colin wear a helmet and stay safe.
@@Jack-cu7rlhe already got bashed and bloody from falling debris. just cause it won't help in the worst case doesn't mean it wouldn't help in every other one.
Should be fine, as he's only exposed a small corner of each, and the space around and under them will be backfilled and set in concrete soon enough. The bigger danger would be damage to his house or garage from that concrete interfering with the normal expansion and contraction of the soil underneath. Luckily, he's not digging deep enough to hit anything like bedrock, so as long as the concrete itself is bedded into clay and rock soil like everything else is, should be a negligible difference.
I’d luv to see a video from Colin’s wife/partner’s perspective on his projects . Sort of like an excited school kid telling his parents of his activities with the parent not really paying much attention ….
if only there was something that protected you from falling objects, maybe like a hat made of some hard material love you Colin! there's no such thing as too much ColinFurze
There are many people all around the world doing similar work to this for a lot less & they still get up in the morning everyday and go to work for 8-12+ hours only to do it all over again, years on end.
@@henryantrim88Always a comment like yours lol, are you too dull to recognize this man could literally do anything else and make millions? Yet hes doing this tedious ass work
Honestly would love another (possibly longer) un-edited/live stream of just more digging. There is something super satisfying watching/listening to the rocks fall.
Love this stuff. The structural engineer in me gets PTSD from it though, hopefully you don't undermine the front corner of your house. Stay safe, maybe consider a hard hat! ☘
Colin is safer than any loser in a hard hat because he is always learning through risk. His level of expertise is beyond the pliebs. He knows exactly what he is capable of and the nature of the material he works with.
I cannot wait to see this car out of the floor videos , loved the tunnel vids. You are just unbelievable with these amazing ideas which is exactly what every man wants to see, doo and have . Great !!
This is great! It helps keep your main channel more focused and concise but for us interested we get more Colin! And it’s probably easier for you to edit too 😊
Didn't expect phase 2 to be the front! seems to me like its a much bigger project than going to the bunker, excited to see how it goes though. Actually just realised if youre doing the drive you can most likely quickly clear it out from above!
@@relaxreflect5888 Even even barring that it does not involve moving the gas, electrical and water lines (they look in the right in the way to me) and installing an elevator big enough for a car with a turntable to switch his and his wife's out.
I think its worth mentioning that in war when tunneling/counter-tunneling is used they have to do this same thing but EXTREMLY quietly. Even this isn't quiet enough to stop another tunnel from calculating your position.
Been watching u since I was around 5-6 with my dad now I’m now 14 and have been watching every video u have posted for the last 8 years excited for the project to continue ❤
@@JackBarlowStudios Getting the Hacksmith go come wouldn't be too hard, just a plane ticket and a very interesting conversation with the customs agent 😆 The car thought, yeah, that would be a bit of an ask.
Hey Colin, if you haven't thought of it, I recommend that secret car port be dug deeper than the tunnels - it'll give you room to work, but also give you room for bigger vehicles in the future (or for the next home owners if you sell)
It's great for seeing more Colin's videos again when it comes to about his underground tunnel system and new future house projects that he can truly could do while making more fun for anyone to given it a shot for it of improving their own houses for being inspired to do so while also doing it in a safe and reasonable ways to do it.👍
I actually like this more. Seeing Colin just chat more casual and not his usual over the top kind of presenter mode. This just seems more like we're having a conversation.
As someone without a practical bone in my body I love living vicariously through you Colin, can’t wait to see more of this project and loving that the second channel will allow more of that 👍
Hell yeah Colin! Glad you're still going strong with the project. I know how hard it is to keep a multi-year thing such as this going wtih the amount of passion you have.
Just realised this underground tunnel and bunker will probably be around longer than colin or any one else ...its almost like its own time capsule for someone to discover in the future imagine buying that house and finding that underneath be a right treat ... keep safe colin
I love this second channel! Thanks for sharing the hard work, which is the part I'm interested in. Kudos to Rick, because I know how hard you guys are working.
I admire your commitment to this ambitious idea Colin! It’s hard to keep motivated when you get hurt but it seems like you slapped a bandage on and kept going which is awesome. Godspeed sir and we’d all understand if you wanted a safety helmet to accompany your safety tie lol
I don't know if this is weird but when I get injured doing some serious work around the house I like it. It's like a well earned battle scar. Obviously staying safe is important however!
PS - I was wondering what that stuff behind your left ear was, in the ‘trailer’ video. That must’ve been where they glued your skull back together after your injury? As others have said… look after yourself. We need plenty more tunnel action.
You are pure inspiration, such human ingenuity! Such passion! Really helps me feel like I'm capable of so much watching someone do the impossible mostly by themself!
I thought he had added this to one of the previous videos on the main channel... Maybe when he got to the end of phase 1... He listed out all of the metals costs and concrete work. I could be misremembering though.
@@Kryptic95823 I was half right... He lists the amount of materials but not the cost. If you were fully invested I'm sure you could get some average costs and do the math. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ok2OPHg0660.html
I love watching your videos! It always gets me motivated to continue my projects and it puts a smile on my face to see you having fun when doing your projects ^^
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Always interesting and entertaining. Looking forward to seeing more of the tunnel progress. Stay safe, you might want to consider getting a hard hat. If you get burned out and are looking for a side project you might want to look into modifying one of the airbag systems for skiers near avalanche zones into something similar for tunneling. Wishing you and your family the best.
iirc there's been at least one casualty, some of them have probably been replaced over time just from how much wear and tear they've been put through, but they're doing *astonishingly well* yeah.
He's definitely buying new ones as the project goes on. At 3:20, you can see a yellow bucket that still has the paper label intact on the inside of it, which I'd imagine wouldn't survive for more than a couple loads of rock. But Colin's definitely getting his money's worth with them as I've seen similar plastic buckets only cost like $10 each.
Never once expected to see someone actually build out a tunnel of their own and make it look so nice, that is amazing, hopefully you can go as crazy as you want and make a whole network of tunnels you need and maybe even a bunker if you don't already have one XD
Wanted to ask this for a while, seems finally like the right place and time! Digging back to the foundations, sometimes underneath them a bit, I've wondered about how the downward pressure from the house would cause slow subsidence if you've dug out a chunk of the supporting ground around them. Did you get an engineer to take a look and suggest strategies to make this safe over the long term? Cheers 👍
Hes' going to back fill the tunnel area with concrete like the rest of the tunnel, so it should be fine. Also he did get an engineer to look at it, and planning permission.
Loooooook at all the digging you saved your back this is the Best channel that I’ve ever found and you have a Great personality Keep up the great work I REALLY DIG YOU 😜👍
lots of respect for doing so much labor on your own. I'm surprised the hydraulic fitting on that tool hasn't snapped from you pulling on it. Maybe putting a handle on it is not a bad idea? On a side note whenever I see someone undergoing a crazy project like this I have urge to want to help, Wish I could be in the mines with you Colin. Stay safe!
I visited England a few years ago (from the U.S.), it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Watching you dig, it’s not hard to tell where all the rocks in those hedgerows and fences comes from!
I would legitimately love to hang out on a livestream watching these happen in real time, and then having biweekly compilations in case I missed any streams…😂
Love the tunnel episodes. Being a Drainage and Subs Engineer I did giggle when you showed the soakaway drain. I come across them daily. Also particularly enjoyed the part when entering the house. Keep up the good work Colin.
It is going to interesting to see how quickly Colin's new channel followers grows. I'm so looking forward to the content here. I'm wishing Colin every success with this channel. Just for the record, the first video was released 43 mins ago and the channel already has 30.6k subs. Could this be the fastest ever silver play button?
Good move, Colin! I love both your regular stuff and tunnel project videos. Unfortunately YT is very silly when it comes to topics per channel, so this should satisfy the tunnel-centric viewers. Keep 'em coming!
