Those trugs are so bloody handy. I've mixed concrete in them, shifted soil in them, used them to hold muddy water in, and they just keep going... as long as you don't try to pick them up when full using the handles.
The magic comes in the spontaneous idea, the mystery, the adventure into the unknown, with no plan, and just winging it. A bit of "Let's just do it." is what makes this so alluring.
Absolutely amazing, fantastic work & engineering, totally love ❤ it... very well done!... will be watching this brilliant project ongoing until completion 😀 .
Just arrived in thanks to of course Colin. I'm down for the project. It's made in heart after the shear BRAVERY AND TENACITY of pows!! My true heroes. Very damn cool. I'm starting at the beginning. Carry on, Tunnel Dave!
The peripheral projects are amusing and kinda impressive in the imagination of repurposing. The main tunnel project is terrifying, I'm garenteed going to have tunnel collapse nightmares now! Have you done your sums on the tunnel shuttering and the potential stresses it's under? Anyway best of luck, another follower liked and subscribed!
Hello my fellow Derby man. Or should a I say aye up me duck! :) I reckon between 350-400 tubs to make it! I would love to see this when it’s finished ✅
I would definitely want something a bit more substantial as shoring. Some old miners i used to know told me tales about metal pit props. Trouble with metal is it gives no warning before it gives up. Wood props creak and groan and fail somewhat more gracefully. Is there a way you could add some wooden supports inside the metalwork, or would it make the tunnel too tight?
If you watch the video on it, it is a shipping container upside down, painted with bitumen. The Section I have cut out is showing no signs of corrosion so all seems good. The roof is concreted and the end where the doors were. I presume it will rust away eventually but we are talking along time in the future and I will have built it bigger before then I’m sure :)
Did anyone here watch "Kim Possible" on Disney? There was a villain called "Frugal Luka". He was a cut price villain. His lair was in his mothers basement. 😊😂
Hope you don’t meet an underground stream, like when my father when he dug out his pit in the garage. It ran the full length, and the only way we stopped it. My uncle required a British rail tarpaulin 😊😅 which stopped the water
@@Tornado_Davethe amount of hours you’ll gain if you can mechanically move it out of your way, 1 of those if you had 30 men moving buckets of soil out of your way and 10 people digging you’d at your house in hours 🤓
Such a small tunnel that you can only crawl through is going to get old FAST. I'd just dig it full height so you can walk through it to start with, otherwise I think it's just going to be wasted effort
Yes but after monitoring it for 10 years it is very rare for the water level to get higher than the base of the bunker, and I now have the pump fitted to be safe
@tornadomotorsport well done mate it's very interesting, believe it or not I'm doing an assignment in college on the dublin port tunnel and then your video pops up on RU-vid 🤣🤣 but il keep watching you mate would love to do a day helping you but I'm in Ireland 🇮🇪 👍
