I love how he breaks fragrances down. Really interesting! This is quickly becoming my favorite channel.

Sombre by Strangers Parfumerie is supposed to make Secretions Magnifique smell like a compliment getter. It has sweat, pus, vomit, and some other nonsensical accords, and comes in a sealed package. I'm not saying I want Aaron to check it out... But yeah it'd be fun to watch Aaron check it out!

I feel like when they tried to do that “sperm”-esque note they tried to recreate the naturally kinda...chlorine like scent it has? Instead it just smells like full on bleach and iron mixed with just...shit lmao

That’s interesting. Not the overwhelming vomit inducing rejection I was expecting. Good to have a perfumers take on it.

This one isn't quite as bad as all the hype, but definitely not pleasant. Has this harsh, sour metallicness to it and a weird acrid wateryness. Would like to see your thoughts on Dior's Oud Ispahan if it crosses your path!

I always said that this fragrance smelled like my grandmother's metal patio set after it rained and there is a glass of milk sitting on the table along with a vase of flowers. And I got a marine aquatic vibe like her house was close to the ocean. I don't find it disgusting like other people do, but I also don't want to smell like a wet patio set LOL I don't get blood just wet metal. I think people associating this fragrance with blood has everything to do with the way ELDO marketed the fragrance. I also am not a fan of marine aquatics so there was no way I would like this fragrance, but I think if I did like marine aquatics that I might think it wasn't too bad. Not a disgusting fragrance but not pleasant either. I have smelled worse fragrances in my life.

This is the one RU-vid channel that I automatically hit like when the video starts, because I haven't been disappointed so far! I wish that I could try some of the ATH fragrances! They're hard to get in the USA.

I've not sniffed this fragrance (as of yet) but I certainly appreciate your ability to ascertain the elements that comprise this reportedly vile little number. Dirty dogs rolling in seaweed and ocean salt scent..curious indeed.

Aaron, speaking of odd fragrances; please don't get tricked into reviewing "Sarin," a fragrance by new American perfumer, January Scent Project. I recently bought their discovery kit of 7 or 8 fragrances and tested their 'Sarin' by spraying one pump onto my arm while sitting on my bed. This resulted in stinking up my bedroom for over TWO MONTHS now with the stink of clove mixed with Bengay muscle pain cream!!! As sensitive as your nose is, one spray would likely force you to naw off your own arm, lol, or at least move out of your apartment. But seriously it's dense clove and the smell of Bengay muscle cream in an overwhelmingly strong concoction being sold as a perfume fragrance. Strong scent is great--when it's inoffensive. All fragrances in the Jauary Progect collection unfortunately made me nauseous.

Like forms of acting, sometimes the marketing for perfume sets up an expectation of an impersonation rather than a more artistic interpretation.

Hab den vor zig Jahren mal getestet ohne zu wissen wonach er riechen soll. Beginnt stechend mit etwas das Ammoniak sein könnte, sobald sich der Rüssel davon erholt hat pudrig-milchige Orangenblüte oder sowas wenn ich mich recht erinnere. Vermute das Zeug ist eher ein Experiment als ein Parfum von dem jemand dachte ihn mit Angabe dieser Noten tatsächlich verkaufen zu können.

This fragrance wasn't as offensive as I expected. Honestly, one of the most offensive parts for me was the iris, which I usually hate in perfume 😖

at the beginning when I smelled the first time I thought , c'mon it is not that bad , cedar a little salty...after a couple of minutes I start thinking ok it is really horrible :D

Etat Libre d'orange has some very nice ones tho. Like this and you or someone like you are favorite staples in my collection. But I never wanted to test that one.

SM to me smells like sea urchins rotting.Reminds me of my childhood,when I picked up sea urchins and let them die and dry out in the sun and then I collected them and decorated things with their remains. My nose got adjusted to this righ away.It's a gimmick for sure,but its not all that bad to me.Nothing like body secretions,at least not the ones they claim this is supposed to smell like.

I just recently tried No.6 by Caswell and Massey. George Washington's favorite fragrance. I fell in love instantly. It has a beautiful citrus, bergamot, and musk blend. It seems timeless to me.

I`am straight masculine man and I wear this parfum every day. Love it.

You did very well my friend lol. First sniff I got that sweetness, but then like you say that blood smell 😔 it made me heave, I only lasted 40/45mins to let it develop, it was too much for my little nose. I did appreciate the idea and art behind it

0:40 you don't bother to even say the name of the perfume right.

This would be the perfect time to ask you about how to wash scents off; there are some that it seems no amount of soap will get them off. Javanol, BR540 and 24 Gold are among some sticky ones where I've had to throw out shirts because of them, and like gasoline, I can't wash off skin and it can take even days to get rid of traces of the scent, which, if they make you sick...really sucks! What is the best way to get rid of fragrance from skin and clothes? Thanks, and cheers for reviewing this, I was waiting for it. ;)

So you’ve done it now and are not likely to do it again with this type of fragrance, but yep - this isn’t as gag inducing as some make out. However Terrence, I really did physically react to Sombre in a way that lasted a good few days! It’s the same question though “why would anyone want to smell this”? I can sort of understand why a fragrance house might want to do this from an ‘look what we can do’ standpoint, but surely someone out there must be able to come up with something more not-run-of-the-mill appealing than vomit which people might actually want to wear! 😵 The unfortunate thing about Sombre (at least where Prin is concerned!) was that I could detect some of the notes in Strangers other perfumes, which put me off wearing them for a good while!

Aaron you definitely nneed to checkk out more fragrances from this house, this one is more about novelty and publicity, they actually make some amazing unique scents like Rien, Divin 'enfant, Tom of Finland etc.

Etat Libre d'Orange is a strange bird. After liking and buying 100mll of "Cologne" (which is admittedly a bit one-dimensional but I like it for the nostalgia it provides) I purchased 6 other samples and with a few I swear I detected notes of BO, like serious unwashed arse. Others were very interesting. I suppose that's what this house is going for and I can respect that, but I do agree that if you're going to advert something severe, it should be more severe than how you took it.

Great review as always. Bit of a strange fragrance. My curiosity says get a sample to try. Would it be a hype brand trying to get sales? 🦄👍🦄👍🦄

Try Gucci Guilty Absolute Aaron! Quite a daring scent.

Its reputation as a gag-inducing horror of a fragrance is pure marketing. The accords listed are (to my nose) just not there. I DO get that salty/bilge smell you mention. I bought two samples over the years before a full bottle and you know I REALLY like the way this one. It's not an everyday wear, but there are times when I think 'today I REALLY want to smell this on my skin.' A tiny amount will do, as I appreciate that most other people wouldn't like it. But when I hear people say things like "I like the way petrol smells" I can understand why this is still on the market after 16 years.

I never understood what fishy notes have to do with body fluids. Healthy people with proper hygiene don't smell like that, not even after they had fun in the bedroom. Musky indolic, maybe. But fishy? Not at all.

I literally gagged when i sniffed this. But more of because I know what notes are in there.. Perhaps if I don’t know it wouldn’t be so bad.. 😀

i bought a bottle of this after i got a sample - the description is worse than how the scent is. it's very gorgeous.

I think fragrances like this should not exist. I don’t care how much you love this scent, please don’t blast yourself with 20 sprays of this and proceed to go to work. It’s not different from people that come into work with heavy BO.
