i remember when we had this in a history class, it was so boring. But now it is so interesting, i dont know why, this is exciting for some weird reason
It's almost certain that Anna was a Polish woman named Franziska Shanskowska.. Her DNA matches that of a great-nephew of Franziska. Franziska went missing about the time Anna turned up in Berlin, and there were some interesting exchanges between Anna Anderson and the family of Franziska.
This is a good documentary, but why is it called 'Secrets of the Romanov's?' They didn't tell us anything secretive or any new information about the Romanov's. Just the same information repeated in most of the documentaries.
@HBB I was listening to one of Tex Marrs CDs from power of prophecy which he says there were some nasty words writen in hebrew with the Romanovs blood all over the basement's walls where they were cowardly excuted !
Completely unnecessary to execute the Romanov family. Sad that the innocent children had to die they had their entire lives ahead of them. Really hope the Russian people demand the reinstatement of the monarchy in the future. And put a descendant on the throne again.
You’re absolutely right. In another documentary I watched, they indeed said that the discovery of the remains were not announced to the public because of the Soviets.
i have known about this imposter cos when i was a young teenager i bought a book about Anastasia, can't remember the name of the book. yeah, she did not look like the grand duchess. but deep in my heart how i wished she did survived.....for the love God, i mean at least One survived, but that was just wishful thinking. see here in HK, we are exposed to western media, so we are quite informed pretty quick about world events. and this imposter was a sensation back then.
Anderson claiming to be a Romanov princess is incorrect & wrong. All children born of the Emperor and Empress held the title of "Grand Duke" and "Grand Duchess''. The title of "Princess" was held by Grand Duchess Xenia's daughter, Irina (Alexander III grand-daughter). If this woman-who claimed to be Anastasia truly was her-she would have known her own title of being a "Grand Duchess", not "Princess", or even the unheard of, "Grand Princess'' title.
Re: was Anna Anderson Anastasia? Even bearing in mind she may have had head injuries, a broken jaw and other traumas (presumably from the execution and being hit about the head) which could have distorted some features displaced teeth etc -her face is just NOT Anastasia's. The bone structure is different. The shape of the face is different.
Misty Groves If anastasia survived than I would think there would be great damage to her face and head as the soldiers bashed in the families heads and face after they failed to shoot them
@HBB oh, we are naive because we trust the 3 different DNA tests that were made over the bones, but you are brilliant because you believe fake news with no evidence to support it at all.
@@opmempot which can all be faked. If you knew how wicked the governments of the world are,you would not be so condescending. They ALL work together when it suits them. Many things taught in schools are total lies and propaganda.I was totally amazed at the things i have come across after years of researching.i always say ,instead of blowing someone of because their info seems wild and far-fetched ,do your own investigating. One word of caution, never rely on mainstream media. They are owned mostly by the ones who tell the most lies!! Look that up too. They can "report" whatever they want,if it is heard on the news and read in the papers,it is true isn't it?NOT.
This is a good channel, I will sub. I live in France now and found out a few years ago I seem to be some sort of vizier princess. In fact, this was told to me as a child but my father told me to remain silent until age 50, which was surely wise. I seem to have connections with the Romanovs but only via marriage. What is nice I think is that apparently my family's lands went to the people. This is in Slovenia and I am Köprülü, apparently. Not actual noble but vizier.
They found the two siblings though and they were burned and DNA conclude that they were both related and related to their parents.. but they didnt know which sister it was could have been maria or Anastasia .. i watched it from the video "Finding Anastasia" should be on the side in the related video list
Is it just me.....or is Mr. Nemoy wrong. Anastasia was 17 when she died and they were killed the night of July 16/17, 1918, but he says she was 16 and they died in 1917? how could they get that wrong?
Anastasia's cousins the King of Prussia had a meeting with Mrs. Anderson he asked her 18 questions about his wedding which Anastasia was invited.she not only answered his questions but added other details later when the kings of Prussia went to live in Costa Rica they made friends with a hired man who worked for them for 45 years this man in an interview swears the king till his dying days said that Anna Anderson was the one and only Anastasia.
There is a HISTORY channel episode, called Finding Anastasia from 2011, showing the forensic testing and proving that anastasia died as well with her family that day
@AzulaLover1 Anna Anderson was not Anastasia. Pierre Gilliard and Charles Sydney Gibbes did not recognize her. Her knowledge of the royal family can be explained by the Duchess of Leuchtenberg's quote: "She was very tricky. One day she was asked "Do you remember, you have a porcelain dog on the mantelpiece? "And the next day she spoke next to the visitor: "I remember that we had a porcelain dog on the mantelpiece."
They've found the other two bodies now :( and DNA tests proved Anna Anderson was not a Romanov. Was a very compelling story though, would have been fantastic if Anastasia had survived.
Im confused. Could Anastasia have survived? I mean, its obviose that Anna Anderson isnt Anastasia, but that doesnt mean she didnt right? I mean, maybe she was too scared to show herself or somthing. Whatever the reason, maybe Anastasia didnt want to be discovered.
Right..except Anastasia was born years before Alexandra first even met Rasputin. Tsarina Alexandra didn't find Rasputin until she was searching for a 'divine healer' or medicine man to heal or hemophiliac son, Alexei. Their son was their youngest child, born after Anastasia.
Unfortunately I don't think either youngest child survived that brutal massacre.....I DO think the little kids MIGHT have been buried separately but ONLY because they would have incriminated any brute force in the army or even killers within the family.... Sorry, folks, but that family was massacred without fail points and with no tears shed. In my opinion it was regardless of burial points or even attention to kill points.
@MrChuchu29 she was mentally unstable, and then when the great countess olga romanov (nicholas's sister) met ana she broke into tears saying that that wasnt her anastasia
This must have been filmed before they found the other two bodies. As to the DNA, Anna Anderson's DNA was compared with that of Prince Phillip, who had the same mitochondrial DNA as Alexandra and her daughters. Prince Phillip's mother was a female-line granddaughter of Queen Victoria and was first cousin to the Empress. They were able to use DNA from tissue preserved from an procedure Anna had done prior to her death.
@BrionyMae two bodies were missing one was alexi and the other was ethier maria or anastasia - without medical care alexi would have died but even anastasia could have died espcially in siberian weather :/
i thought dna only proves a similarity. other evidence is required to make a case watertight. it does appear that all the evidence is against anna. she was not a recluse, she was married and lived with her husband.
i am a desendent of Countess Xenia Nikolavena Shermeteva and my name in real life is Countess Yasmine Xenia Vamvakidis i was abdicated on may 7, 2006 and i will not have my throne back until August 17, 2014 and i am born of royal blood and always forever more be a Countess of Russia
@CapaodaCanoa but anna anderson could not speak russian? so i really don't know. like the ear structure and the fact that family members say that she looks like ana. but still what reason would the scientest have to lie. also they say ana's body is not missing but maria's is more likely
if she's not the real anastasia? how can she say that on that exact night she fainted and was brought somewhere when no one, other than the executors know that they are in that location and will be executed? what if she learned the polish language lately?..very interesting story..so sad to think that a royal family can be treated and even killed in a harsh way.
@baire702 I agree with you. I can't see how someone could have the same mark on their foot, same ear, and same known information. But the Polish thing throws me off.
The British monarchy feared if they provided help to them it would spark a revolution in England against some monarchy. I think they also saw the Russian monarchs as a threat to their own power as well. That's why they refused to help them. At first they were going to let them come to England but then changed their mind and said no.
baire702 I agree with you. They had enough money to buy off anybody. There was money and power at stake. The resmblance is uncanny .she could not speak russain? Now that is strange ???
Russian CZAR sent all his assets to the King of England for safekeeping. British killed them so that they cannot claim these assets. I have heard that from Russians.
There were other people murderd as well with romanof family. The doctor and cooker were thier body gone. Are they bairded with romanof family dead bodies in same place and why no body mentioned about them.. They have a Wright as well to be baired in peace.
There is compellng evidence on other videos on RU-vid that it was Maria who survied and lived in secrecy in South Africa. only ever telling her children and grandchildren of her true identity, but even then not revealing which of the Grand Duchesses she was. She was fearful he hwole life of the KGB and that is why she swore her family to secrecy.....That would make her grandson the Tzar.
@AWickedMind Hey pal. No disrespect intended. I can invision myself as the Czar, and with that horrible act that happened to them, and yes it was very horrible...if one of my children could have lived I would have gone to my grave happy. Life is always better, even if you have to suffer. Life is better. Be well my friend.
Franziska Schanzkowska was known by her family to be a dreamer, obsessed with the Romanov royal family. She read everything she could get her hands on about the Romanovs as a young girl. At the time she showed up in Berlin in 1920 ,she originally claimed to be Tatiana. Tatiana was nearly 5'7"; Anastasia was approximately 5'4"; and Franziska Schanzkowska was shorter than that. One of Alexandra's ladies-in-waiting, Baroness Buxhoevden, was called in to identify the claimant and she immediately dismissed the woman as being "too short to be Tatiana." It was then that the patient changed her story and claimed to be Anastasia. After such a gaffe, it is surprising that anyone could have been convinced that she was in any way related to the royal family. Even as 1927, a Berlin newspaper identified her as Polish factory worker Franziska Schanzkowska. Several trials were held, and when "Anna" entered the courtroom and recognized someone who could have identified her, she would fly into a rage and insist that person be removed from the courtroom. Regardless of the physical similarities (the ears and the deformation in the feet) Schanzkowska never won complete acceptance among survivors of the Revolution.
@@sharonbudworth4862 no it wasn't.The Russian Orthodox Church even has issues with the DNA results and haven't buried the 2 bodies.DNA tests can be faked.Who is to know one way or the other. They can say anything.
She could have because there were guards who were sympathetic towards the girls. There was talk of trying to help them escape. There was 1 assassin for each family member, but when they knew they had to shoot the princesses ,they refused and others had to be brought in to do it.There were even among the murders those who did not shoot at the princesses, but instead at The Tsar .There are several accounts of this.
Satis It WAS proved by DNA obtained by Prince Philip, relation of Anastasia that ANNA Anderson was NOT Anastasia. Also Anastasias body was found buried years later, she died along with all the others.
@APRIL62318 I beg to differ. If DNA is incorrectly analyzed, or the person analyzing it is not careful and paying attention, then no, the DNA doesn't lie, but the analyst might. By the way, wouldn't it be amazing to be the granddaughter of Anastasia???
