This is my favourite video of yours. I love the way you do refinish furniture but this I love the most. Antique furniture has a special place in my heart. ❤
This is such an important video - if you are really wanting to turn a higher profit for the amount of time invested. Thank you for always trying to teach and help others. And your work is beautiful as always!
Your courage gives me courage! And, your expertise gives me knowledge to strive toward in my creations. Thank you. One of the things you do that I admire most is your fearless hand sanding , detail cleaning, and application, like with a thorough toothbrushing. You are wicked with a toothbrush, and I will always remember that, when I am considering what clean and finished really mean. Something is either clean or it is not clean. I really enjoy watching you and your clear intentions to do things right.
Wow, those are fabulous! I especially love the little spinet desk, and I'm really glad you were able to flip them all quickly and at a good profit. I would be so tempted to keep them ALL for myself! BTW, that green wall behind you in the first frame is lovely, so fresh-looking. Could you tell me what paint that is?
I found your channel, and I'm hooked! Love your teaching style, your video quality, and your skill level, all with an eye for the beauty that lies beneath!
What a great video, Lisa! I always love the pieces the pieces you work on. You used some products on these restorations that I’ve never used that I’m excited to try out! Beautiful work as always ❤
This was a fabulous video! I learned so much. The main thing being we don’t always have to strip to bare wood and then go from there. I love your term gentle restoration. That’s going to be my focus on my next piece if it qualifies. Thank you again.
It’s finally warming up here in Upstate NY, which means, Estate Sale season!! After watching your video I am now so excited to go to them looking for great finds! Keep the videos coming, you’re my favorite. ❤️ I always learn something new!
forget brass and polishing...TIP>>>> use bars keepers cleaner...how to use it... in a container, add water calculating to just cover the hardware with water (no need to use a half gallon of water nor to boil it) just a little above the hardware , place two tablespoons of cleaner.. that is if are only a couple of pieces...if you are cleaning more than 6 pieces add xtra two tablespoons of cleaner...mix the water, add the hardware, let it sit for no less than a hour, take it out and with a brush clean it up...repeat as need it..(for me only takes one time) this process leaves the brass shining and with less efford...good luck
I think if you have a signature look and style that totally makes sense. I am not an artist in that respect. I love to refinish pieces, but I usually keep an eye on resell value for the business side of things
@@ivylaneinteriors I understand that, mine isn’t a full business, I care for my autistic son at home so I only do it slowly and exactly what I want, more a wonderful hobby, had I got into it younger then I certainly would have made it more a business. Im doing my daughter s table for a second time. Now she’s moved to a period flat. So I’m kept busy. You restore the wood that a great skill. I’m in the UK
I use a scale made for large items. You can lay the piece down on the scale and the weight reader is attached to a cord that pulls out so you can read the scale. There are also rough estimates on the internet too.
