You may be changing your shot too much. We all suffer those days when we can't make a basket. Here are our sage words: When your shot is not good, "FOCUS ON YOUR FINISH!"
Coach I go to the gym everyday for 3-4 hours. And I work on everything but focus on shooting. I will occasionally find my shot and it's beautiful, but the very next day I can't seem to shoot the same or it feels different so I tweak my shot a little. So pretty much I am constantly changing my shot a little. What's the problem
Well, it's more about generating advantages over the defense. You do that by being in control, creating space, and challenging them to react. Most of our offensive moves show you how to do that. Thanks for watching!!
Hey coach I'm a good rebounder and finisher, and a good mid-range shooting big, but one thing I hate about myself is that when I get a pass and i'm not open I freeze and don't know what to do. Once in a while I do something unexpected. I think I need to relax. I'm afriad to drive to the rim when I get the pass, I usually wind up just passing it back. Any tips
I do this trick and i get past easily, fake the pass and drive in, and when you are doing this, do something unexpected, also, if you get an offensive rebound, do the putback really fast, but don't rush it, because you might over power it.
First of all congratulations on your great job and your excellent video. I think in NBA there are the best players in the world of course, but I believe that Juan Carlos Navarro, who played in Memphis Grizzlies in 2007/08 season too, has the best floater I´ve ever seen. Navarro is one of the best European players in history and he can do floaters with both hands, far or short floaters, with either one foot o two feet and he does it very usually every game. And finally he surely makes an influence on Spanish young basketball learners as we can check in the following video: LA "BOMBA" NAVARRO (TIRO POR ELEVACIÓN)
Training your weaker hand is actually exactly the same as training your strong hand, with the exception that you will have to put in more time and effort to get it up to the level of your stronger hand. More repetitions, more concentration, and a lot of consistency. Check out our "Dribbling 101" video, the "Developing your Weaker Hand" video, and the "Layups 101" video. Good luck!
Whenever you play outside, you're going to have to deal with variables that make things a little more difficult than playing indoors. You really just have to work through it or find another place to work on your game. I'd say that unless the dustiness is really making it impossible to play, then you're probably fine working out there. You may need a little bit of an adjustment period when you go other places, but you should be fine.
Yes, it is a lower percentage shot. We're always going to be fans of taking it to the defense, creating space and/or contact, and getting the higher percentage shot. That said, it is another thing to have at the ready; just not something we think should be a go-to or regularly used move.
Okay! You don't have to have great handles or an amazing shot. One of the key things to remember when you attack another player is to ATTACK THEM HARD!" If they are getting their hand on the ball on your cross it's probably because the cross is too high and/or too slow! Check out the video and see what we recommend on these things. Patience, you will get it! Just keep workin on it!
Tony Parker has the best floater in the NBA by far, he does it from various spots and speeds, more than any other player. He tends to lead the NBA or be in the top 5 in points in the paint because of his unreal floater.
It's no problem you guys are like the best at what you guys do. Where are you guys located? I would love to come out onto the court to show you what i have in store for you guys :)
I have a backyard but it is really dusty. The ball picks up the dust and becomes really smooth so there isnt any grip. If i shoot and play there, will that ruin my fundamentals because i dont have that grip?
Your fear is due to a lack of confidence in your skills. Fear can be a real tough deal to handle if you allow it. Take some chances and remember, everyone makes mistakes. That is how w learn. Go for it!
tay asbury Tay, you lack confidence in yourself. You will never gain it until you "Step out" and take a few chances. You are playing safe and when you do your game never really grows. The worst thing to happen is you are unsuccessful!! That's how we learn. Try-fail; try-fail; try- succeed; Try- succeed; try fail!!!! This is the pattern when we are learning how to play this game. Don't be afraid to fail!!!!!! Out of failure comes success!!!!!
tay asbury me too i get scared when i am in a game but i have skills too i have shooting, finishing and sick handles.Thats why i cant join basketball tryout
Sir can you make a helpful video on how can i practice my other hand so i can use it in my basketball games... Im a Right Handed so i obviously use my right hand in Dribbling, Lay-ups, Taking Shots, Free Throws, Drive, Passing, Rebounding, Floater Shot... Usually when i try using my left hand: my left hand dribble is average or maybe below average, my left hand lay-up looks ridiculous... Can you please help me train so i can use my left hand freely. It would be a honor to have you teach me... TY
Tony Parker, I see a lot of people are choosing Derrick Rose. Although he is my favorite Point Guard, he doesn't have the best floater. He drives to the whole with Poohdini-like lay ups. Anyone who truly knows basketball would choose TP or CP3. Those two are hard to choose from.
Hey Coach. yesterday I was playing a Senior who has a scholarship to a D1 school and and everything I did would always do bad and I want to know some new moves for the season in2 weeks because there are cuts, but I'm only a Freshman
hey coach i just posted comment on your other video saying that you should make tutorial on how to make floater or tear drop shot and that was like 2 weeks ago and now its here!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! coach GOD BLESS!!
I Was Never Good With The Floater I'm More Of A Reckless drose Type Of Guy using My High Jumping Ability To Adjust My Shot in mid Air ..I Can Dribble .and I Love Pull Up Mid Range Shots because I have a kobe like form..however I suck at threes and standing shots
What about the actual shot mechanics? Do you still flick your wrist when you release or do you sort of just push the ball up? In the video it looks like its just pushing the ball up.
actually it wont, i also have the same problem, what happens is that when you play in a normal court you will dribble and shoot better since your accustomed to playing with no grip
from the perspective of a big man, the floater is the most annoying shot in basketball. We can't block it without fouling, and we we anticipate it, guards blow past us. So frustrating...
Hey Coach Tom And Everyone Else , Have You Seen KD Stats When RW Was Injured ? He Did Very Well Right ? And When RW Came Back , KD Didn't Do As Well As He Did When RW Was Injured . That's The Same For Me , I'm KD And My Teams PG Is RW , Without Him I Can Do Whatever I Want , But With Him It's Becomes More Or Less A Pass First Situation , What Should I Do ? I'm Afraid Getting Scolded By My Coach
How can u not lunge I am having trouble using the legs when should I release the ball and thanks coach can u make a video on when to release when jumping to take a shot
Hello! How can I defend the Floater as a 5'3-5'4 Grade 6.(Most of the guys that makes floaters are 4'8-4-11)I can make Snatch Blocks is that a good Floater Defense?
Derrick Rose!!! his floater is unarguably the best!! By the Way,,Thanks Shot Science for this video.I wanted to find a way how to get make the shot without getting blocked by the big men.
Great video..Just want to throw out there a name y’all probably don’t remember or the young heads don’t know about...Rod Strickland is the god father of the tear drop.. 👍🏾
I have always wanted to be original and have my own signature move like AI Hardaway Shammgod or Abdul-Jabbar so I take off for my floater as if I was going to do the Jordan Jump classic dunk and half-way in the air I stick the elbow towards the basket like a jumpshot release and smash the glass like an easy bank-shot im in the 9th grade this shot works literally everytime for me now but is it too unorthodox for the NBA ?
