It is irrational to compare the JDF to the U.S. military superpower, for obvious reasons. The JDF's relevance is to the Caribbean basin region, where it is involved in co-operation with friendly nations, and among whom it compares favorably. The other powerful countries like Canada and the U.K., tend to offer support to the efforts of the JDF, in maintaining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Jamaica. Helping to control smuggling, and to deny support to criminal elements in the region.
Love it, love seeing a country whos Countrymen are willing to die for their country and willing to die to protect it. Do what you need to do for freedom. Honor your fallen with the most respect.

The JDF patrol the street of Jamaica. Most of the people it engages are Jamaican citizens. The US regular and reserve army cannot patrol the streets of the US without and act of Congress. The national guard units are under the governors of each state. JDF personnel are trained by the US army.

the jdf cannot progress nor attain the necessaty equiptment needed for the soldiers to carry out their duties efficiently because high ranking officers keep using money alloted for gov use is being used for personal services
when evvet poverty prevails then crime will rise n a lot of highranking people is involve so what can the army do,we the nation would have to decide that this as to stop.
Well army and police is almost the same thing, but the army is the police of countries who don't respect the humans rights like Afghanistan with the talibans.
They only fight Jamaican civilians. They should be serving in real combat with the British and Americans in places like Afganistan etc.Might as well scrap the Jamaican police force and use them cause they just a watste of tax payers money could use that money to feed and help poor needy Jamaicans.
