As Edwin Diaz entered the game for the Mets against the Dodgers at Citi Field on Wednesday night, Timmy Trumpet was there to play “Narco” live to welcome Diaz to the mound before the Mets closer locked down the Dodgers in a 2-1 Mets victory.

All at a time when the Mets are down in the dumps offensively, they can't sink any lower in their slump, their division lead hanging by a thin thread, and all of this while trying to tread water in a series against the best team in baseball. Ottavino slamming the door in the 8th (please don't take that for granted- wouldn't have happened last year). Free concert by the newest celebrity Mets fan. Diaz slamming the door in the 9th with a perfect inning. All of this after losing a real heartbreaker yesterday. Again, don't take that for granted. This team has miles more mental toughness than any Met team I can remember. Winning a game after yesterday would have been out of the question last year. Incredible game. Incredible team. I grew up hating the Mets, HOWEVER, here it is 7 months after this video was posted and I had to watch it again. Here is to a speedy recovery for Diaz so we can have more of these videos.
