I was looking at a Suzuki V-strom 250 SX today (and got distracted by a couple of SV650's and an 8R the SV650 fits me so well though, I could totally ride one all day, and then turn the headlights on till the sun comes back up) back on track. you should try a V-Strom for checking out these types of places... the guys and Gals in the Christmas tree cars won't even notice you on a V-strom, especially if you dress up in the drab grey outfits all the ADV riders wear (and have a fake beard attached to your helmet!)

I went from 07 CBR125R to 02 FZS600 no issues, but I was pegscraping the 125 so there's a difference in my skill vs the average rider 😊

Those are two totally different riding styles tho. Gotta figure out which one you would be more comfortable on or flat out want more/think you'd enjoy more. Or maybe go the FZ route and get a good mix of both worlds

Anybody think a zzr 600 or 99 zx6 would be a good “starter” bike? Have lots of experience on dirt bikes but no sport bikes

Either would be good, but if you have LOTS of dirt bike experience......you might want to look to a ZX7 or even a ZX10 sport bike. I went from the dirt to a 1000R Ninja......then traded it for a ZX11 in the early 90's. Today I ride a ZX14R SE. Cheers !
