Whoever did the animations for this game is amazing. Without voice-overs, the animation is doing all the heavy lifting in showing these characters' personalities. I have to say they are overflowing with character and charm.
I saw tests from the lead animator years ago and I was immediately charmed! Even if all character designs aren't equally appealing, the animations do so much for the appeal that I don't mind!
As soon as Quinn appeared, I was like, "Ah, I bet Jacob's favorite has arrived" 😂 They're very cute! Their face reminds me of Goob from Meet the Robinsons, lol
ohhhhh this game. I had a hard time figuring out who I had the biggest crush on. Quinn seems to be everyone's favorite, but come on, Mint? Roxanne? Muktuk? I ended up marrying the neurotic moth and frankly regret not a thing.
Mint and Xid were the two tht caught my eye, ended up going with Mint cause she’s just so adorable. Her excited little leg shake when she’s about to head off always made me melt
In Quinn's defense, none of the other characters is known to Ponder The Orb. I still went with cottagecore lumberjack deer girlfriend who smorks weed. I *almost* went awooga for Xid but she felt, like... designed by committee? Something about her look was very "we're going to give the gays everything they want". Also whenever she showed up as a customer her lines sounded kinda rude. I *did* go awooga for demon mommy, for obvious reasons, but I liked her banter as friends better.
I've gone with Xid and Baptiste so far. Baptiste's innocent accidental insults are honestly kind of sweet, and I love his eager ambition to evolve and understand his guild members.

I can't believe I actually got a good potion, today is a truly blessed day. I chose 16 212 and the hype I felt when Julia said "you get the good potions" was immense
Potionomics was an 9.5/10. It’s got plenty of lgbtqia+ representation. The character designs are varied and interesting with different body types. Each piece of music is an earworm in itself, The gameplay loop got its hooks in me and each of its game genres mesh well and flow into one another naturally. Would recommend to anyone who likes puzzle solving and econ management It was a 9/10 on launch because the filters weren’t added till later after I already beat the game, which did bump it up to a 9.5 for me. I think the only thing that the game is lacking is endgame content/endless mode and proper controller support. Playing it on a steam deck was an absolute pain.
I don't know if Jacob and Julia read these comments, but since it's likely relevant to other people here too: probably don't buy those Jackson Galaxy essences? I looked at them a few years ago because I really like Jackson's work in general, but this stuff is literally just homeopathy and Reiki. A holistic approach to medicine is fine, but it necessarily involves still treating the body, so unless Julia was talking about one of the few seemingly legit products in that range like the B12 or probiotics (both of which could possibly be helpful for their situation), replacing actual treatment with a bottle of ✨vibe water✨ is not a great idea. We all want the best for our pets, but unlike the benefits of the normal placebo effect, the caregiver placebo effect is ultimately harmful in the way it delays or prevents truly addressing illness.
I thought they were FOOLS to give away ingredients as gifts when they had a straightforward multiple of four, but then the very next day they got a new cauldron capable of holding six ingredients! Serendipitous.

I loved this game! Trying to keep to the schedule and having to roll back a whole week when I fail is stressful, but the characters, animations and haggling is just so charming and fun I didn't mind! Hope y'all keep playing off or on stream!
