When I had mine the doctor said, "don't be embarrassed, it's normal to get an erection during the test". I said "I don't have an erection" he said "I know, but I have". The old ones are the best!
When I did mine I couldn’t help to think that the doctor was just sick and tired of doing them. Mine was no where near this in-depth. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Just seemed like an easy 50 quid lol.
Mates it's just going threw the motions. Nothing is checked properly I reckon a proper full medical would have 75 % or the drivers off the road. Maybe that's why its such a sham. Now they need us. They are crying into their corn flakes. Years of abuse under paid. Blackmailed to do back loads. Nights out stuck on the side of nowhere with fuck all to eat drink. Night heater not working. And Transport who blew your hours watching Coronation st having his tea away to his nice warm bed. Then the cheeky Bastards after ruffing it all night except another 15 hours out of you. FUCK OFF I was told years ago were ten a penny. Now look at ya bunch of. Robbing Bastards. Were only professionals when we end up in court. For some daft shit. When it comes to money were shit. Absolute wank job shit. 26 years. Of no sleep bad diet and a divorce. So FUCK OFF. DRIVE THEM YOURSELVES
Hi Luke, I did my medical with D4Drivers after picking up one of their info packs at Truckfest South West last year, booked mine in December for this January and even though we went into a lockdown it still went ahead, passed with just the code for corrective vision lenses on my licence, practical training and test in just over 2 weeks time. Nice to meet you at Devon Truck Show this weekend, didn't get to say Hi to Jay as he seemed to be hiding behind the trucks😂 hope you had a good weekend and a good run back on Sunday
I've got mine on Tuesday. Thanks for the video. It's not that I'm worried about. I've been driving for 30 years now but to go into hgv there's alot to do besides the medical.
Absolute load of bollocks like the cpc money for old rope. Never want to get back in a truck as long as I live. Treated like shit money. Same as a cleaner. No thankyou. No respect none.
I done mine through my GP, and was about an hour and a half in total, there again medical conditions, medical conditions in the family, and poor eye sight. shame didn't get my licence when I had the chance. but medical conditions got worse, so didn't feel safe driving a truck, and about 4-5 years ago got told to give up the hope of driving LGV's, as eye sight had gone below standards for LGV licences. but well worth going for I wouldn't have changed it for the world, my driving is better for it, more aware of how much room LGV's and Artics need to make corners, more aware of the backend swing. had a great instructor who really pushed the limits for the yard part of the test by making the area minimum amount of room possible, and made a Police officer trainer come up, and ask how long we had been practicing the yard work, as his driver was on 1 week 2 days and still couldn't do it with standard distanced cones, and we were on our 2nd day of training.
The cut down version? When I did mine it took longer to fill in the forms before the appointment than they actual medical itself Informative stuff though all the same
Passed my medical with this doctor last month, worst time to apply when the DVLA are currently on strike due to current Pandemic and conditions and I've yet to see my license come back after 5 weeks.
When i did mine i had to do some exercises and a pee test as well as the rest, might be different in some parts of the country even tho it shouldn't be
Had mine today. Literally in the chair for a minute. Didn't ask me any questions. Even guessed my height and weight. No blood pressure test either, he just put 120/80 (which I presume is their requirement)...pretty shocking tbh.
I was going to pay for my medical last year but then thought I'd ring my own doctors to see if they did them and they did with no charges!! Just had to pay for standard uk eye test
@@danwoodward23 I must of been lucky then matey!! Glad I tried ringing them first though saved me some cash!! Got my provisional added last October so valid for 2 more years. Wasnt in any rush but then covid screwed things up theory centres closed etc however I've got my theory booked for next month
@Jim Bob that’s awesome man! Definitely go with d4drivers. Just be prepared to wait over a month for your licence to come back. I had my medical on June 2nd and I’m still waiting. DVLA on strike
I find it abit odd that someone would think I would make it up that he is my brother to be honest 😂 I have 2 brothers. One is Lee and one is Jake. I’ve done videos with them both. Click here to see a photo of my wedding last year with both my BROTHERS, our parents my kids of course my wife. ru-vid.comXIqzo_8fC4c?feature=share
so is it worth doing all this my daughter has done medical and yesterday past her theory. some people say drivers are treated well i am worried because of some things you have said in the past . do i allow my daughter to continue or do i tell her to quit is she going to be safe ?? will she be taken advantage of and land us with i fine we cant afford ?? this is make or break for us please help .
they ask a lot of questions, but don't they check any of this against your medical history? seems a bit too easy for someone to just answer "no" to every question even if its not true
Having mine in an hour or so, so thought I'd watch a vid. Unfortunately can't stomach people with face nappies on, so guess I'll have to wait and see what happens at the appt... Sure it'll be fine
I could have a lot more sponsors believe me. 90% of them I turn down because they are of no relevance to my channel or my audience. My channel is about HGVs and this video is about a HGV medical which is required for anybody wanted to become HGV driver. I’d say it was pretty relevant 🤙🏻
@@harveyarber2543 Have you monitored your BP yourself? Reason I ask is you can give a high reading due to anxiety, talking whilst they are doing the reading and other factors. For example I had my BP taken for the first time by a GP recently, came in high, like 153. He asked me to fill out a BP sheet, takes a week, 4 reading per day and mine came in as normal. It turns out, I was nervous at the time, was on ibuprofen and was also talking to the doctor at the time, which is a big no no when taking BP apparently, but he never told me that... It's a long shot, but your BP might be fine.
