I bought these to have a my "bass heavy" iem for now and I couldn't be happier. I also ended up buying a second set of the tips because I loved them so much

The Rinko uses "micro planar," which is technically a planar but it isn't like real planar drivers. Meaning, there are magnets on both sides but the coils on the diaphram are wound less efficiently, in a circular pattern, and are much smaller/thinner than traditional planar coils are wound.

I've been loving these for a while now. They aren't as clear as other better measuring iems. But for rock and metal music they are warm and thumping .

Great to hear considering I ordered a set yesterday that should be here Monday. I figured why not for $99.99 and it being both a Planar and DD IEM as with Planar I have to try them all or most anyway. Thanks for sharing your opinion of this set and I look forward to hearing them even though Bass Head is not how I'd describe what I look for in a sound signature...

Is it different enough from the Legato to justify buying both?

Would you consider those a good upgrade from SeeAudio ? I'm kinda suspicious going down to a single driver after being so used to the SeeAudio.

Actually, according to zeos, the planar driver goes all the way to the bass even, but not into the very very end of its extension. I'm almost sure about that, I remember him saying that there are some parts of the spectrum that both drivers deliver at the same time

The keycaps and acrylic thing didn't come with the standard rinko. But I don't really care about that stuff. The iems are beyond wild and super holographic with crazy, crazy bass and intense treble that doesn't even scoop the mids from an experience perspective They're kinda designed to not graph properly because if I understand it right, the planar and dd are not corrected for their distance apart, nor are they crossed over. So that creates that completely different presentation. I find they just present each song in a completely different way - sturgill Simpson's "a good look" brought out a guy going absolutely BERZERK on a cowbell that I never knew was there even on my most detailed headphones. These are an experience. They totally stand alone as a uniquely cool audio experience.

More bass rinko or legato?

I appreciate the Legato comparison. I've been considering both as a $100 fun option. Blind-buying is kind of hard of a fixed income. As much as I want to support Zeos, my hesitation is with Planars. I've only had one experience with them, and it didn't go well. The treble hit me hard, and I wasn't aware I had a sensitivity. What did them in though was sibilants.

New here...nice video, i like your presentation. Graphs can come later but are not essential to me at all. Just got these Rinko yesterday here in Hong Kong. I am with you on almost all of your thoughts except: - i DETEST the tips. But I have never been a fan of foam anyway, always preferring OG Sony Hybrids for all my IEMs that they fit - Soundstage seems OK to me, but yes, not incredibly expansive. Time will tell, but its fine for me - I play guitar and listen toa ton of guitar music across all genres. That upper mid bump you observe certainly explains why I like these a lot - I am pissed though [not really]. I didn't get those keycaps you show lol....Irrelevant but I am curious now why I didn't get them. May have to ask the HK dealer about that. These are my first planar anything and I am a bit of a bass head, though certainly not excessively so. You hit the nail on the head - bottom line, for the price, presentation, build and overall sound signature, these are indeed an easy to love, fun and engaging set of wired IEMs. Pretty great IMO. If I had to choose one it would be the 7hz overall better built quality, the rinko looks cheap,in comparison and is technically not on par with the legato.

What an ingenius idea of putting their "Planar" right in front of the DD Dome area. Dome produces most of the sound of an DD, blocking the dome can cause huge distortion to the DD. My guess the bass/low mid of this IEMs will sound undefined and messy.
