Step-by-step instructions on how to properly adjust the clutch assembly of a Seeburg Select-O-Matic mechanism in a USC2 according to the specifications in the Service Manual. Prior to these adjustments (and some others), the mechanism on my Seeburg USC2 would just "sit and spin" and would not scan, pick-up, or play. After adjusting the carriage mechanisms properly and completely lubricating it, the Jukebox functions normally.

Hello , would you happen to know why my usc-2 won’t select a record just scans back and forth couple times and parks . I can manually hit the switch on mech and I will stop and pull record in and eject . Has a number 8 lit up on number board and occasionally a 7 .

Lubrication was all that was necessary. I love how the amateurs all go for the adjustments first... because that's what they do.

I wish you would not have skipped over the first clutch adjustment. I'm curious how you can screw the stop bolt in, when you can't really even get your fingers on it ?

I love these do-it-yourselfers. I could watch this shit for hours. The funniest part is his adjustments are probably all correct. He's just getting ready to screw everything up now. That's when the real fun begins.

Well, if you actually watched the video to the end, you'll see that all the adjustments I made were correct according to the Service Manual and I didn't screw anything up! The mechanism works now and scans, picks up a record, and plays it properly, where it was not doing that before! If the adjustments were all correct previously, then why was it not working properly? Can you answer me that? Maybe someone else before me started screwing around with these adjustments and messed them all up. I don't know that! At least now I know I'm at a good starting place with everything adjusted to spec before I try doing any other troubleshooting on the mechanism. However, this ended up fixing my problem, so I shared the video of how I did it to help others. Sure, not everyone may have this same exact problem and this may not fix every issue related to the mechanism. But if someone has tried everything else and it has not solved their problem yet, then why not try adjusting the clutch assembly to see if that will fix their problem? Please take your negativity elsewhere and stop insulting and degrading people for trying to help other people out...

@@BDPFilms In light of the above thread, I thought I'd let you know that your video and information was, in fact, helpful to me. Although, it didn't help in quite the same way as with the problem you were trying to fix. My wife had a Seeburg USC2 when I first met her, and it's traveled with us as we got married and moved around. It wasn't in bad shape to begin with, but needed some basic fixes (blown selection lights, etc.). During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started working on the jukebox a little at a time. I started by purchasing the service manuals off of eBay (and a guide from Ron Rich, who worked on jukeboxes for decades). I've gotten it so it is mostly working, with an occasional hiccup where the song selection doesn't land on the right record. From what I've seen in jukebox forums online, this issue can be a simple matter of applying the correct lubrication where needed. The lubrication chart in the Seeburg manual is a bit daunting - I count over 30 different oil / lube points on the selection mechanism. What your video helped me to determine was how to get the mechanism all the way over to the left-edge of the machine, and by removing just the "digital receiver / decoder" (don't think I need to remove the popularity meter) that should help me get to the front portion where the important parts needing the most oil are (clutch member, clutch worm, etc). I'm waiting to get the special wet graphite grease (already have the three-in-one motor oil) recommended by Ron Rich and others in the forums, but wanted to say thanks for the video and helpful info on accessing the front of the mech.
