Well, that is the third video in this category! It is always so exciting to document all the plans over a certain period of time, because they are always different.
As usual, I am ready for the next season already in November. Right now I know how everything will look like during the next season, I've set my expectations and prepared everything for experiments.
Do you plan your season beforehand?)

Lovely. The tunes used in your content is absolutely beautiful just like yourself. Im also busy with seed harvesting from my winter crops. However here where I'm from we don't get snow or frost in our winters. We just get lots of rain. So we can do successive planting. So what I do is, after winter I leave a few of my winter crops in the ground for them to go to seed then I plant my summer crops around the winter crops and I trellis over them. So in the same bed I let my summer crops grow up vertically so then I don't need to get my winter crops put to prepare for my summer crops. This way I can save seed.

11:40 Our melons are nearly done here now. The back of the mill is bare. Great taste and great times. Most the melons here will be from down South now. When growing you have to think 3 to 4 months out before the season. With fruit trees it is 2 year 8 years to 18 months depending on the trees and the cuttings.

Reference Peppers Katsiaryna : When you cut into a whatever colour variation pepper , do you discard the seeds or dry them and store them for next years growth ? That is what a female friend of mine did last year and this year had an over abundance of peppers in all colours from green to red and not once did she have to buy any from the supermarkets. Maybe you try this and see the results as they should come true to cultivation.
@KatsiarynaTerehova

That’s what I hopefully can achieve in the future. It is useless to take seeds from hybrids so I switched to such varieties of vegetables where it is possible to replant seeds ☺️

@@KatsiarynaTerehova Way to go! Harvesting seeds from peppers feels like cheating; it's so easy to do. I do it with my tomates too (put them well spaced on a paper towel, let them dry and scrape them with your nail). There's something very rewarding in the process, the perfect circular life of a plant is like a little miracle in itself and it's fun be part of it.

A couple of years ago I bought some seeds of a tropical fruiting tree that's grows well in temperate regions. It does well in shade, tolerates cold winters and has fruit like mango! Try getting hold of some American Pawpaw (ascemina triloba). I bought them because I think in a few years as our food supply chain changes this fruit will be very useful for trading, selling and making delicious desserts.

18:15 I grow Roma it is the largest managable tomato. You can do the three plant tripod style or the commercial one wire under one wire over and a slack vertical string. The string is to wrap around the vine as the tomatoe does not remember it is a vine. Just like the pumpkin that is too heavy to be a vine but will benefit from a 1 metre elevation on a small fence.

You will be pleased you know that all bar two of your vegetables are Hare-friendly. Cauliflower is not recommended and onions are poisonous to them. As for eggplants (UK aubergines), courgettes and pumpkins I suggest lots of these as they will distract the Hare from the tasty veg. I am awash with mint and I believe your first pack was spearmint and the second was Bowles mint (hairy leaves). Both are good with potatoes. Great video.

I am only growing onions from seed this year instead of little bulbs. I grew both last year and for summer onions (not autumn planted) the seed ones were better and none of them went to flower (bolted). I always lose about a 20% of the ones planted as bulbs this way. Also when dealing with weeds the ones from bulbs seem to be less strongly in the grown and often pull out the ground with the weeds. I will see if it will be a good choice this year.

Thanks for sharing your seed selections. Being north of you, I would struggle to grow a lot of what you can. I noted that you are trying out leeks, which I really like for soups. They can be left out until very late, sometimes well into the new year although getting them out ground is tough. The other brassica for Christmas is Brussel sprouts again they harvest them very late. I grow mostly flowers and i found some red Dutch irises to try out and I planted a few new hyacinths. Normally the frost would have taken hold and killed off plants but I still have lots of dahlias and fuchsia bushes flowering! Have you ever thought of growing Poinsettias, I think they would sell well as indoor plants and are basically your national colours. They are incredibly popular as Christmas indoor plants. There is place not far from me that grow them by the thousands.

Katya, you're a real experimental and intellectual gardener. I used to be an all year round gardener but I'm a fair weather potterer now. Not really due to age, more I just have a small space now,and I do other activities also. I'm quite happy. I saw that kind of Purple Basil this summer and it was so pretty. I'd happily grow it in my flower border as an ornamental but I wouldn't eat it as I don't like the taste of Basil. Two brands of budget supermarket here in Britain Aldi and Lido sell packets of seeds in springtime that are really budget priced and also excellent, they germinate well and grow into sturdy plants. So,no we don't need to buy the expensive seeds. However I'm sometimes looking for something more uncommon and then I do order from a particular seed company. Pardon me please using a shorter version of your pretty name. I cant spell the full version. I hope you all get through this winter alright. Yes,winters are very mild now compared with years past that I am old enough to remember but I like mild winters. Once you reach a certain age you don't like cold and ice and snow.

Thank you so much, Jane ☺️ I think that I will always lack space for everything that I want to grow. Every year I just want more 😅 I just love the whole process connected with gardening and the harvest is the best part of it. I always looked for budget seeds and it was okay all the time, it is just marketing became pretty agressive to turn us into those who can afford variety. That’s the reason why I refused to go into expensive seeds just in a matter of one year. I think my views will change all the time but that’s the beauty of it. Eventually, I will calm down and settle 😂 And it is totally okay with a short version of my name since everyone at home calls me like this 😉

Exciting! Whoo you have chosen so many varieties of melon and cucumber😄 I am growing parsley and basil from seed in small pots on windowsill and keeping them there all year round it looks possible here in uk but maybe your winters more extreme. Can you do that? On the seeds quality I had a butternut squash packet where some of the squashes turned out to be a cross between butternut and green striped marrow, not ideal. I hope next years will not be cross-breed hopefully

I did the same with lemon balm but eventually planted it into the soil after some period of time and it gets over winters pretty nicely 😊

It seems that u have a Mediterranean taste regarding veggies, few ingredients that I always have in my garden or my freezer, Basil, Oregano, Parsley, Mint, next, eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes, Garlic, Onion and lemon tree. Those r the basic ingredients for a Mediterranean dish. My fig trees says hi to u. Still giving me figs at this late stage of November. There’re many different types of Mint, only one variety that u can use it either in tea or better yet in a salad dish.

@@KatsiarynaTerehova nothing tastes better than a fresh picked fig, I wish u were here, u would still be picking some of my figs, I have about ten trees, about 2meter high each. U and I could make a very good pair of gardeners.

imagine if kids were taught life via gardening, cause it involves delayed gratification and planning, something i never learned till it was really late in life
