So I had my last hospital visit for a few months now to remove the steri-strips from my scars after having a double mastectomy. Since so many of you guys are following my journey, I felt like it was only right to show you how they look after 3 weeks of recovery - especially if there's anyone out there watching this and going through the same thing. I'll keep you guys updated with how things (hopefully) improve! I also got out of the house to the garden centre for the first time in a while!

I have breast cancer and my bilateral mastectomy is scheduled for two weeks. Thank you for doing this. It makes me feel more prepared.

Make sure chemo first it will shrink the tumor. I had TNBC along with a fungated growth coming out of the right breast with blood and pus, just kept on growing and smelled real bad, at least the chemo actually got it shrunk and it closed up on it's own! I opted out of surgery cause I am 75, so no need, so I actually have one and a half breast now!

I’m lucky enough to have no experience of a mastectomy but your scars look amazing after only a few weeks. Well done for showing them, I feel if I were about to undergo similar surgery this would make me feel much more positive about the outcome. Aren’t we lucky that we live in times with such fantastic modern medical procedures. I hope you continue to make a good recovery.

Dearest Becky, It was so good to see you healing so well and so quickly. My mom had a mastectomy some 40 plus years ago and she had an ugly scar. I braced myself to see the same kind of scar on you. I was relieved and excited to see you were not marred emotionally too! You were so brave to demonstrate to others that this surgery could be done well. You have come out the other side cancer clear and more likely to stay that way for a lifetime! Hugs and many kudos to you, Becky!

Thank you Becky. You're praying for you has helped so many people I don't even think you know how much you've helped at least for me. 2 weeks ago I had a lumpectomy. I just saw my surgeon a couple of days ago to find out that they didn't get it all and now I have to have a double mistake to me. Which is what I wanted in the first place lol. I'm not getting reconstructive surgery I'm 64 I've always hated bras LOL. And I always been big breasted. I just don't want any breast at all. I'm single don't plan on getting married again so I have no reason for breast and I don't want them so I'm not going to get them. Praying for your recovery. Thank you so much

Girl you and your scars look beautiful, don't scrub let them heal for a bit more. The tattoo ( and even recreate a 3d nippel) makes it even more natural, it helps with accepting and go on I hear from people I know personal who had it. The penmarks can be removed with nail polish remover on alcohol base at least. You are both doing great. Take care!

I have a pool and took me several yrs to skinny dip. My port site and port scar bothered me because it screamed you have cancer, took me 3 yrs to stop putting make up over it. Now I don't care I am happy I am cancer free x 8 yrs. I want you to know there is so much life and love after breast cancer. I think you look fabulous, healing continues. Sending hugs and love to you. Congratulations best news. My lymph nodes where clean with no cancer. This surgery is physical and mental. Best news no cancer

You have a lot more left than I had . I was flatter than flat! But thankful for no more cancer! I did go ahead with implants and nipple tattoos. I was 38 and the Dr thought I was too young to go flat. It’s been 38 years for me. My Dr recommended the implants but I would not recommend them. They just are not the same. 😅

Why I had terrible stomach ache from tepid heat, stew I bought in a cafe. That I now know was cold carbs. Amazing knowledge you are passing on. I have been Ceolic for 33 years. I recently have been told I have ibs. No tests just doctor seen my distended stomach. You are a strong woman going though your latest trial. Dear brave, gorgeous lady, I'm happy that your scars have healed so well. I salute to your courage to share your experience as this is going to help alot of women. You have a great and healthy skin. Stay healthy and blessed. I'm a 27 years old man, got a minor cut on my forehead 4 months ago, I badly hope the scar fades away over time. It has slightly improved I guess but It has made me really self conscious and I feel depressed all the time. Looking at old pictures hurts. It's almost been 4 months and each day is so depressive.

Looking great Becky. The surgeon did a neat job. I had a nip reconstruction where skin was cut, stitched to create mounds. When healed I had them tattooed. Dry shampoo is a good thing to give yourself a freshen up if you want to spruce yourself up between washes. Highly recommend this. Bio Oil, Cocoa Butter, or Aqueous Cream will help with the scars after you’ve healed fully. I had lymphoedema as had lymph nodes removed. Since 2005 I had to visit the hospital for measuring and to get compression garments. I was finally signed off from being a patient a few months ago as I have it under control at last. X

There's this cream you can buy here in Canada that's made in Germany. It's made specifically for healing scars and my plastic surgeon recommended it to me. It works really well! I wish I could remember the name of it, but menopause has my memory right now. I bought it at the chemists, so maybe ask? Hi Becky I was watching some of your cooking videos, I have IBS and try to follow low FODMAP, and came across your mastectomy videos and I applaud you. For reference my mother had a single mastectomy due to cancer so I have a family interest. I did feel a bit creepy watching it 😢. I just wanted to say well done. You will have helped many women by doing this. I hope that you are well and continue so. Btw - thanks for the food vlogs also.

I've been through 7 surgeries so far (I seem to need to buy a house or car for a surgeon every decade or so 😂😂). Anyway, I've had success with carefully lightly massaging in either pure vitamin e or pure argan oil over the scars. After months the scars lighten. Sending healing live your way. Also, some people have said tattooing over surgical scars can be very painful...but you do what you need to for yourself 💖

Wondering the "if" "when" "how" of everything can make you positive at times, and, negative at times. A lot of unknown!?! We can do it. Believe it or not, whatever our future journey brings is for the best (I know, hard to believe). 💪🩷🌺

Did you get an implant, I thought someone said the mastectomy is a little concaved? Sorry if you already shared this information. Thank you for sharing your chest it’s so helpful. Just found out I have breast cancer in one breast they gave me an option of full or partial surgery I just watching your videos have helped so much.

You are such a brave and inspirational person Becky, glad your recovery is going well. Take each day as it comes as going through something like that effects you not just physically but mentally too. Will you have reconstruction surgery done at some point? X
