24:00 Lineage of Muhammad ﷺ. Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib ibn Hashim ibn Abd Manaf ibn Qusai ibn Kilab ibn Murra ibn Ka'b ibn Lu'ayy ibn Ghaalib ibn Fihr ibn Maalik ibn An Nadr ibn Kinaanah ibn Khuzaimah ibn Mudrikah ibn Ilyas ibn Mudar ibn Nizar ibn Ma'ad ibn Adnan

Summary Arabs can be divided into 2 broad categories 1. The extinct arabs ( عرب البائده ) which are one of the earliest civilizations known in the land of Arabia. Qur'an has mentioned some of them i-e عاد and ثمود. These civilizations flourished 5, 6k years ago. The second group of Arabs is called (عرب الباقية) also known as "the remaining Arabs". They are further divided into 2 categories 1. العرب العاربه (the pure Arabs) 2. العرب المستعربه, the Arabs who became Arabs by learning Arabic language. Qahtaan is said to be the founder of عرب العاربه who are primarily found in southern part of Arabia i-e ancient Yemeni civilization and Adnan is said to be the founder of عرب المستعربه, his people adopted Arabic language when they started living in Arabian Peninsula. Adnan was a descendant of Ismail (a.s) and an ancestor of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), which makes Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) an Adnani Arab. There is a unanimous consensus that our prophet (s.a.w) is the 20th grandchild of Adnan. According to Ibn Al Kalbi (who is one of the greatest ulama' of ansaab and one of the founders of writing history of genealogy) Ma'ad, the son of Adnan, lived contemporariously with Jesus Christ (a.s) which means Adnan was one generation before Jesus Christ. With this background, the lineage of our prophet can be divided into 3 categories. 1. From Prophet s.a.w to adnan 2. From Adnan to ismail ( There is a difference in opinion over the number of generations between adnan and islmail a.s, some say there are 7-10 generations and others say there are 40-41 generations) 3. From ismail to Adam a.s So let us now start with the immediate ancestors of our prophet (s.a.w) whom we know more about, beginning from Qusai'. Qusai' lived around 400 C.E, 170 years before the birth of our prophet (s.a.w). He wrestled back the power of the political city of Mecca into the descendant of the Quraysh from Khaza'ah who were also the descendants of Ismail but they were not Qurayshi. Fahr is said to be the founder of Quraysh tribe. Quraysh started their rise to power in the times of Qusai. Qusai was the one who built Dar un Nadwah, He also took custody of the Kabaa and created multiple responsibilities, i.e responsibility of water, responsibility of food, responsibility of hospitality etc. He initially fulfilled all responsibilities by himself and later on after his death the responsibilities were distributed among his sons. He had a son named Abdul Manaaf (Manaaf means something that is raised). His real name was Mugheerah. He was known for his handsomeness and his leadership skills. He was very beloved to his people even during the times of Qusai. He had a son called Hashim which means someone who grinds (he would grind barley for the pilgrims of Hajj), hashim was his title and his name was Amr. He was a very generous man and it is stated that he would never eat his food alone. The most important thing he did was to raise the economic level of the Quraysh. He had multiple wives and one of his wives was from the city of Yathrib and from her he had a son named Shaiba tul Hamd. After Hashim's death his wife took her son and went back to Yathrib. Once his uncle named Muttalib was visiting Yathrib and saw Shaiba tul hamd. He immediately said, "It is my blood". Back in those days people had this gift of recognizing, he then found out that his mother was a woman whom his brother married. So he realized that Shaibah was his nephew and concocted a plan and abducted the child because his relatives would not let him go to Mecca with his uncle. In Mecaa when people saw a young man with Mut'talib, they assumed that he was his slave and started calling him Abdul Mut'talib. Abdul Mut'talib then later on inherited his father's share of grandfather's wealth and managed to carve out for himself an entire legacy. There are three main things happened in the life of Abdul Muttalib. 1. The rediscovery of zamzam well 2. His vow to sacrifice Abdullah 3. The incident of Abraha To conclude, this story of prophet's lineage proves clearly that something momentary was about to happen. Every single person in his lineage established something of momentous value. Therefore, Allah chose Prophet's lineage in a manner that nobody in the world has a more noble and prestigious lineage than him.

Episode 5 Notes: Arab Genealogy Arabs can be divided into two categories: 1. Extinct/Ancient Arabs: Like Thamud, Aad and people of Midian 2. The remaining Arabs: There are two types, the Qahtani Arabs and the Adnani Arabs. • Qahtani Arabs were founded by Qahtan, they existed in Southern Arabia. Qahtan was a descendant of Sam, who was the son of Nuh AS. • Nuh AS’s son, Sam, is the ancestor of Ibrahim AS and Qahtan. Both stem from Sam but, are from different genealogy branches. • Qahtan predates Adnan by a few hundred years. • Adnan was alive around 30BC. Right before ISA AS. • Adnani Arabs come from Adnan who is a descendant of Ismail AS. • We don’t know the amount of generations between Adnan to Ismail AS and from Ismail AS to Nuh AS. • Adnani Arabs came to Arabia after Ismail AS immigrated there from Iraq. • Prophet SAW is the 20th descendant of Adnan and this makes the Prophet SAW an Adnani Arab. Prophet Muhammad SAW’s Lineage • The Prophet SAW, stated that his ummah should be led by the Quraysh and this was the case, during the Abbasid, Umayyad and Rashidun Caliphates. • All of the Quraysh tribes go back to Fihar who was the 12th ancestor of our Prophet SAW. The descendants of Fihar are called Qurashi, which is a title. Quraysh began with him. • The Quraysh is the big tribe which has many sub-tribes within it. • But even the Quraysh is a sub tribe within a bigger tribe called Kinannah. • The Prophet SAWs immediate ancestors and their achievements are as follows: - Abdullah - He is Prophet SAWs Father: He was going to be sacrificed by Abdul Muttalib due to a promise he made with Allah SWT, but he was saved. - Abdul Muttalib - He is Prophet SAWs Grandfather: His name comes from his uncle and he was raised in Medina, which later became Medina. He rediscovered Zamzam via a dream from Allah SWT, which told him where to find it. The Year of the elephant happened during his life. - Hashim - He is Prophet SAWs Great Grandfather: He began the economic elevation of the Quraysh, by hooking Makkah up to the Silk road. It made him very rich. He died in Gaza and is buried there to this day. - Abd Manaf- He is Prophet SAW’s Great, Great Grandfather: He was a handsome man and a great leader loved by his people. - Qusai - Prophet SAWs’ Great, Great, Great Grandfather: he took Makkah back from the tribe of Khuza'ah. He ensured the Quraysh would rule Makkah when Prophet Muhammad SAW was born. This is why I believed many advanced civilizations has been around, rise and fall, over and over again. Which is why we have many stories or remains that suggested as if they already have some advancement like us. Who knows, probably their tech wasn't based on electricity like us. Not to mention that back then magic still exist, until Sulaiman's time (Solomon) there are still people who can teleport Queen of Sheba's throne faster than Jin. Imagine what kind of advancement, the possibilites they had back then.

May Allah reward you and place you in janatul firdous. MashaAllah you, shiekh Sulieman, and others renew our iman. Alhamdulilah that you are among us.

Excellent Sheikh Allahmubrak, The amount of effort, work & time gone into preparation of this seerah is quite phenomenal, magnificent. Only one issue, you have repeated genealogy of Arabs at least three times in different episodes, i think, 3, 4, 5.

Dear Yasir Qadhi, I think you made a mistake in the 25th minute in the Prophet's lineage. You mention Ilyas and Mudar twice, the first time is after Murrah and I think you meant to say Ka'ab and Lu'ayy, which you mention a few minutes later. You said there are 20 generations but in total you mention 21 generations. When you say 20, do you mean in between Adnaan and Muhammad (PBUH) there are 20 generations? Furthermore, you said Fihr is the 12th and An-Nadhar is the 14th but when I count it comes out as 11th and 13th. When I looked online it is also the 11th and 13th. Kind regards, Rashid.

Ilyas ibn Mudar has been repeated twice, the first time it was meant to be Ka’b ibn Luayy. Can you please edit the audio. You can do it in the youtube video editor itself. (I guess, not sure) the right audio is 0 and the left audio is 100. My left ear pains when I listen to this video. (in my headset) If there is no option to shift the audio to right in youtube video editor, then upload a new, and don't make it public, make it unlisted and add it to this playlist. Unlisted videos are the videos which doesn't come up in the youtube search, or your channel videos. The only way to access it is through its URL or it must me in a playlist.

The earliest civilizations known in oral history and recorded civilization are not always the same as the earliest cultures in the language. 20 generations from Adnan and Muhammad is not the most ever passed on by oral tradition by far, but what do we say when he knew they were wrong? Every race has distinct traits and actual scientific theories are based on the facts to date. There is more to Judaeo-Christian concepts than the Bible and there are groups of those types before that. The narrations about Muhammad say the prophet `Iysa predates when the Christians say Jesus was by a century; which connects to one of the historical figures blended into the Christian concept of Jesus as an incarnated deity. When I first read and heard it, I assumed the People of the Elephant were either Hindu or of some cult deeper into Africa that worshiped an so-called Elephant God or Goddess.

According to Ibn Kathir, Kuzaah conquered Mecca and banished Jurhum during the time of Prophet Solomon in Jerusalem.
