Since I started to listen to this seerah of the Prophet muhamad pbuh back in 2019 I listen to it every year. Sheikh Yasir Qadhi if he has not done anymore lectures after wallahi this is enough for me. May Allah reward him immensely and put barakh in his entire family including his parents . May Allah rewards him with jannah Firdous. Ameen

ending 2023, listening to Sheikh Yasir make dua for Sham (which includes Palestine) against oppression and tyranny hits really hard. may Allah continue to bless them with guidance and sabr.

Episode 6 Notes: The Arabs • The Pagan Arabs didn’t reject Allah SWT, they only used intermediary idols to get close to Allah SWT. • The Byzantines and Sassanids laughed when they saw that the Muslim Arabs were attacking them since they were seen as nothing. • All the Prophets that came after Ibrahim AS came from the line of Is’haq AS. But, only one came from the line of Ismail AS and that was Muhammad SAW. This is due a Dua that Ibrahim AS made asking for a Prophet to come from Ismail AS lineage. The Birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW • The Prophet SAW parents were Abdullah and Aminah. Both died in their early 20s. We have very little information on them. • Abdullah was with his wife Aminah for only a few days after marriage. When he had to leave on a caravan journey and he fell ill and passed away in Medina on the way back from this journey. He is buried in Medina. • The Prophet SAW was conceived during those few days Abdullah spent with Aminah. • The Prophet SAW was born in the Year of the Elephant 570CE on a Monday. • The Prophet SAWs day and month of birth, are of much dispute. Many say 12th of Rabiul Awal on the authority of Ibn Is’haq. But there is no Isnad on this date. 8th and 10th of Rabiul Awal have more evidence than 12th. • The first time the Mawlid was celebrated in Islamic history, was in 517 Hijrah, by the Fatimids, a Shia sect. • The Mawlid was first celebrated by a Sunni in 670 Hijrah, by a Sunni governor in Mosul. • The Prophet SAW spent 53 years in Makkah (40 years before prophecy and 13 years after) and 10 years in Medina. • When the Prophet SAW became a Prophet, the Jinns were prevented entry into the heavens. • The Prophet SAW was circumcised on the 7th day by Abdul Muttalib. • The Prophet SAW was named by Muhammad by Abdul Muttalib. • Abu Lahab released a slave girl when he heard Muhammad was born and because of this he is allowed a few drops of water whilst being punished. Fun Trivia fact: The first Quranic verses were revealed on a Monday. Fun Trivia fact: the story of Prophet SAW not having a shadow is false. =========================================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

For anyone trying to understand why Christians pray to saints, the description given for why Quresh worshiped idols is the same reason given in churches for Christians praying to saints. I was a Catholic before converting to Islam. Alhumdulillah.

The seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu walahesallaam is such a vast compilation by Shyakh Yasir Qadhi- undoubtedly a great and good contribution for the Muslim Ummah to know the events and facts of the Prophet PBUH. After nearly 12 years of his vast lectures, I have been listening to him lately. It is a good piece of work. Despite that, if he could have talked a little slowly, it would have been appreciated by a listener like me. May Allah Subhanahu WaTa’ala reward him for his entire work. Each of his episodes should have been 30/40 minutes duration.

The seerah series are awesome .. we are all looking forward for the series of tafseer of quran in detail by u .. May Allah bless u in all ur religious works . Aameen

I absolutely love this series! We are facing such a difficult time specially in Middle East describing the life of Prophet saww and who he saww was as a humanly being. There are so many of exaggerated stories so much so that that it terrifies people of knowing the reality Rasulallah saww as humanly being and the reason why it's absolutely easy to believe him to be somewhat angelic because of all the misinformation relating to his seerah. I find it absolutely difficult or even scary to bring up the discussion of Prophet's life in front of elders(who don't have much real knowledge about him saww), it's either exaggerated to the point we feel disconnected to him as humanly beings or on the other hand people start dismissing the entire greatness of him as Prophet. Wallahi it's absolutely important to keep the history intact and don't come up with our own exaggerated stories of him saww because it's on one hand what Allah swt has preserved and on other hand, it actually give us sense of attachment even more to him saww knowing that what he suffered physically and emotionally was way more than what we can bear for ourselves.
