SEGA Genesis Classics Collection Switch REVIEW! | RGT 85 

Am I the only one that finds it incredibly ridiculous that there are more classic Sega Games available on the Switch than classic nintendo games????

Megadrive / Genisis collection has been done many times !! A saturn and or Dreamcast collection please !!

I didn't fully realize why people were saying the psone classic was a lazy emulator but after watching this I realize how lazy it is. This has a cool retro room, challenges, and graphics smooth options.

I'd rather this than $5 per game VC.

Bro Sega was the first ever system I received in my life at Christmas as well,not a sob story but my family wasn't rich growing up so the only way I'd be able to play a game was at an arcade or at somebody's house. Me and my sisters got a knock on the door and we went to answer the door there it was,we were so happy man thank you for this channel and sharing your short story about the Sega you got it took me back and felt I had to share it

Here a tip for any input lag for any compilation of retro games. Wallpapers almost ALWAYS introduce input lag. Try turning them off.

What I'm really pining away for is a Turbo Grafx 16 collection. It better have Splatterhouse and Castlevania.🤞🏻

I remember I first saw my cousin playing Sonic 1 on genesis and I wanted it so bad. But for a while I was given his throwback NES, stuck playing Mario 1 and Duckhunt. Which honestly was best to start out with the original 8 BIT... but I desperately wanted SEGA. Then I finally got the Genesis w/ Sonic 1 and TJ&E and it was GOOD! For a while I thought SEGA was better because I unfairly put The Genesis up against the NES, and for a while I didn't even know what Mario 3 or Mario World was. (of course later on I got SNES and wow both systems were amazing) Well thats my long winded story. Bye

Sega is totally hitting home runs on retro games for the Nintendo switch. Arcade quality and excellent amounts of games. I really hope they are all on the physical copy. We need racing games. SEGA KEEP THEM COMING! Bring them all.

Man this is a lot of my favorite games from my childhood. I'm on this one. Sega did a great job. Now if only the other companies, (Sony this means you) would takes notes on how a proper retro collection is done.

I sold my SEGA collection back in the day for a PS2 and two games, Vertical Fighter 4, and Tecken 4. I have been trying to rebuy my collection back from my childhood.almost complete again. But I also aqiyered some new games in the process. I am a SEGA kid and always will be.

The Switch version is MISSING two games that the Xbox One and PS4 version have, namely the two Wonder Boy games. Not a lot of reviewers are mentioning this. Definitely something to be aware of if you are trying to decide which version to get. It really sucks that SEGA took games out of the Switch version and have not been transparent about this.

If you want a hidden gem on this collection, Beyond Oasis is one of the greatest games I ever played as a kid; in fact, in my opinion, this entire compilation is worth the price for that one game alone.

Steam version contains Sonic CD and Sonic 3/w Knuckles. No Sonic 3, no Sonic 3 & Knuckles, no deal.

I love how the game menu is set up like somebody’s bedroom in the ‘90s with sega posters everywhere! I wish it also included Chakan and Ecco the Dolphin, but other than that this collection is amazing, and helped me beat all 3 golden axe games!

Eternal Champions a true classic in my mind. And great music. But to this day the difficulty and controls are just to much for me. I remember just looking up how to do the "fatalities" and attempting to do them. Very fond memories.

The nostalgia is real, I fully agree. I will be getting this, just for the Shinobi games alone

Landstalker is an amazing game, missed getting it on the wii virtual console, so this is a definite must buy for me 😀

Even though I already has this on PS4 I'm still gonna pick it up for the Switch.

Today I purchased a Switch and four games for it. Those are: Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Golf Story, Mario + Rabbids, aaaaand Sega Genesis Classics Collection.

The genesis was my first console 20 yrs ago on christmas.

The genesis was my first brand new console too, the one that came with Sonic 2. Such a dope console and I'm so happy I can play these games with my brother half-way across the country.

I would like to have seen some of the Disney games in there such as Donald Duck's Quack Shot and Mickey Mouse's Castle of Illusion and other games such as Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and racing games like Chase HQ and as mentioned Outrun. Good honest review though.

I got that exact sega genesis sonic 2 bundle for my 7th birthday. Man the good ol days.

When I seen it had BOTH "Shining Force" and "Shining Force II" included not to mention all the other great Genesis games in the collection it was an automatic buy for me, hands down!! I've been waiting for the Shining Force Series to get some love!! :)

Sega put already more effort into the menu of the games than Sony did in their entire "Classic Console" system.

This collection has me with just the shining force games. Still have my GBA resurrection of the dark dragon, but never played 2 too much.

Beyond Oasis is excellent. Give it a shot. I first played it on the Xbox One copy of this game, beat it, and loved it.

Wish it had contra hard corps., Road rash 2, Castlevania bloodlines, Spider-Man and the sinister six, X-Men clone wars, pitfall 2, ghouls and goblins, and of course Street fighter 2 championship edition. Then it would be the best collection ever😁

I have the Sonic Genesis collection for PS3 and this newer collection for PS4. I have to say that I much prefer the older PS3 Sonic collection.

This collection is missing SO many awesome Genesis games; Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, Boogerman, Cool Spot, Chester Cheetah, Castlevania, Beavis and Butthead, Ren and Stimpy: Stimpy’s Invention, Ecco 1 and 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Aladdin, Lion King and many many others. I’ve considered buying it. I just don’t know if the exclusion of some of my favorite Genesis games warrants the $30 price tag. Must give props on Toe Jam and Earl: Panic on Funkotron though. I love that game.

The input lag is horrendous on Switch. It's impossible to deny it. For you to say it's not that bad, after receiving a free review copy from Sega, is irresponsible and deceiving.

No Wonder Boy games?!

I have my Japanese Megadrive from launch handed down to me from my brother which he custom painted. Sonic 2,3 and Streets of Rage 2 were some of my fond memories. I bought the Ultimate Sega Megadrive collection back on the PS3 which included Sonic 3 and Knuckles which isn't on here unfortunately. However I did still enjoy this new collection on the PS4 as it has some of my favourites on there like Shadow Dancer, Shinobi, Streets of Rage and more. I definitely will be picking this up for my Switch.

These compilations are much better than Virtual Console. 1 you get more games for your money & 2 they can be released much faster. See how slow Nintendo is rolling out NES for online? That's how virtual console was except it was 3-5 games every few weeks & each 1 of those games could be for any number of consoles. Nothing for Genesis this time? Try next time. Not a game you wanted for your Genesis? Maybe next time x50. I already own basically every NeoGeo game I want except Windjammers. I already own a ton of Sega games etc. This is so much better they come out faster, and specifically for the system you want. Well except for Nintendo... I don't want to play NES I want to play SNES. I grew up with an NES and the catalog is meh. SNES games have better gameplay due to more buttons & 16bit sprites look beautiful with so many colors. NES is starting to look like Atari 2600 games(not really...) They're so bland & the games can't do much with 2 buttons. Give us SNES Nintendo!

Kind of ironic how the games that originally were rivaling Nintendo are all playable on a Nintendo console now. I'm so happy it's on Switch now, but it just makes you think how much times have changed.

I got the Genesis model 1 for my 10th bday in 1992. (I think). Well it came with a pack in Sonic 1. And a mail in slip for Sonic 2. Which I got in the mail a week or so later. I also got Streets if Rage 2. But the video rental store was my best friend. Lol. I used to keep the games in a audio cassette travel case for quick access.

Am I losing my mind? Am I the only person on the planet who is noticing all of the graphical/audio glitches, input lag, and performance issues this collection has? Its not just on occasion either. This compilation has some serious issues. Please someone back me up.

Called the “ megadrive “ here in Australia . I just purchased this game , it’s so much fun 🤩 brings back so many memories from the 90’s ! and great value for money considering the price of those carts back in the day !

For God's sake can you stop saying that Sonic 3K is not on the collection because of licensing? Every single port of Sonic 3K has a alternative tracks instead of the original ones made by Michael Jackson, I just bought Sonic 3 and Knuckles on my Xbox one just a while ago!

Better than the PlayStation classic!

I got the Sega Genesis eventually from my brother's friend awhile back with only a couple of Genesis games. So of course I'll get it on the Switch so I can get games like Golden Axe, Street of Rage, Beyond Oasis and Phantasy Stars II, III & IV that I was unfortunate to not own. I get to finally experience games that I never get to chance as I grew up with NES and SNES back in the day.

The Genesis was not really known for its racing games. In fact, except for a couple of arcade racers, racing didn't really take off on consoles until they were able to match the visuals of arcade machine racers, and that wasn't until the N64-PSX-Dreamcast era. As for Virtua Fighter..... that was literally the game that revolutionized 3D fighters. In fact, when I first played Mortal Kombat 4, I immediately thought ... "Here goes Mortal Kombat, trying to copy Tekken and Virtua Fighter."

Definitely a must buy

Pretty mad that it doesn't include Ecco the Dolphin, but pleased that it included most of the old Shining Force series.

Konami has a bunch of Arcade Classics they need to put on the Switch Eshop. If Konami wants to be on the gamers good side again (not that they cared about things like that), then put your classic arcade games on the switch.
