Sega Genesis Mini: All 42 Games Reviewed! - Electric Playground 

Man, this guy barely aged since I seen him on G4TV. Brings me back to those good old days just by seeing him again.

I love vibe I'm getting from Wonder Boy franchise. The way they design the characters and world make me feel somewhat calm.

It's easy to look a "Beyond Oasis" and compare it to Zelda, but the deeper you go, the more you'll realise just how unique it is. One of the very best games here for sure.

Too bad they couldn't get Aladdin and Mortal Kombat.

Your voice has preserved so well, sounds just like the old days on g4..

Man, I was a Genesis kid and still never played most of these games. So a big review compilation like this is awesome. Can’t wait for my mini to arrive!

I am a diehard Sega fan for life. I think you were being generous with Alex Kid. I give Alex Kid in 1989 a 5 out of 10 and in 2019 a 2 out of 10. I got my Genesis in 1989 and it turned me into the diehard gamer I am today. I disagree with some of his reviews but not enough to make a fuss over it. I enjoyed this very much and I can't wait, the 19th can't come soon enough. I pre-ordered two Genesis Mini's (one for me and ine for my fiancee) as they will make an excellent addition to our retro game room. Wait...Strider makes a 4.5 out of 10?! No, I got this game when it was new and I still own it today. Strider is an excellent Sega Genesis game that deserves at least an 8 out of 10. For reference, I recently played it a few weeks ago and my only complaint is that it's too short. If I'm pulling hairs it is way to easy.

I never understood why marvel or DC never used the Comix Zone template to create a game for their respective universes. Imagine that in HD. It would be awesome.

I loved World of Illusion as a kid. I got to share the 2013 remake of Castle of Illusion with my daughter and we both had a blast. I wish they'd remake World of Illusion, too. Thanks for taking the time to make this great compilation review! Makes me want to get a Genesis mini.

Thanks for the review. As soon as I saw ghouls and ghost, I knew I had to get it. I work in the boreal forest 6 months per year and my brother in law visits every year. Ghost and Goblins is the only thing we play when it rains on the Snes mini, so now we'll have this one too ! :)

Great review. I played Gunstar Heroes earlier this year for the first time and was amazed. It's definitely a 10, and I love it.

20:40 But this ISN"T a 2019 version of Tetris. This is a 1988 version of Tertris from Sega's arcade game before all the modern Tetris rules were codified.

The bean game is awesome with two people. I think it is much more lackluster solo. What makes it exiting is getting the giant combos of row after row of beans and having it bury your opponent.

I feel like a bum. I remember watching Victor on G4 in the early 2000's. I had no clue he was still in content on RU-vid. It is nostalgic for me just to hear his voice! This is so cool for me finding this out even if I am late to the party! Subscribed and will now be looking through all the other videos probably all weekend.

Great review. Cant wait to spend some more time with my favorite childhood console. I have to say though that I have a very soft spot for Sonic Spinball, I give it a 9/10 :) I always loved the challenge of getting to the end, its not an easy game.

Robocop vs Terminator was a lot of fun. But I guess it would be too violent to be included on the Genesis mini.

Splatterhouse would have been nice. Overall, nice variety though.

I used to play ones like Elevator Action, Paperboy, and the Atari collection on my Commodore 64, so the graphics look fine. I guess we have been locked at home too long, because it looks like fun, so going to order one....

I've seen some reviews say that there is a bit of an audio lag, and that there is a software issue that causes the console read one push on the D-Pad register as two pushes on the D-Pad, making it hard to play, and Tetris unplayable. Is this true?

I've said this before but do you think they can make some sort of attachment that'll allow you to play game cartridges in the mini? Because if you have game cartridges you still wont be able to play them unless you have a regular Sega Genesis.

How do I flip my game list from spine view to front and back?

Referencing Megaman Wily Wars: "It's cool that even back in the day they were packaging games and archiving the past". Ironic since that game was only briefly available via the Sega Channel, and therefore could not be officially/legally archived (until now).

I would have like to see Populous and/or Warmonger included. I probably sank more time into those and the Phantasy Star games as all others.

Nice review ! To me, the presence of Virtua Fighter 2 sounds like "Hey, look ! Virtua Fighter 2 on the Mega Drive !". While I get why hits like Aladdin or Sonic 3 & Knuckles didn't make it, I sure would have traded Alex Kidd and Virtua Fighter 2 for Rocket Knight Adventures and Streets of Rage 1, which really SHOULD have been in the selection. Also seeing Castle of Illusion is there, QuackShot shouldn't have been left out.

Definitely a mixed bag for a collection. Great to hear your thoughts on every title. 🤔 Still bizarre they will not contain a series of games, just one per franchise. Is there a hardware limit?

Still beyond baffling to me why the Sega Genesis Mini would not include a USB plug-in where the non-functional aesthetic slot was to insert cartridges. I would have happily bought future collections of games that were like 20 for $20. Maybe give them time to work on obtaining the licenses to some of the games missing like Aladdin, Mortal Kombat, etc; as well as releasing some of the missing sequels for series that only included one title from their flagship series: Sonic and Knuckles, Streets of Rage 1 and 3, Shining Force II and Shining the the Darkness, they could even release some Master Drive collections. Seems like a huge opportunity missed... unless they plan on releasing Sega Genesis Mini 2 sometime in the distant future.... :/

Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite Genesis game of all-time, still holds up amazingly well.

Is there any way to improve the smoothness in graphics on this console??? I have a 4K 55in TV and god every fucking game looks super blocky. What can I do???

Eternal Champions had music sampled on Bone Thugs album E 1999/Eternal. Still remains the best hip-hop album of all time.

I wonder if we're able to add all of the sega games in the sega mini just like the Nintendo mini?
