Sega New Net City Project: Removing the chassis from a Toshiba PF monitor

I made this video for my own documentation, but perhaps someone else will find it useful. Here I remove the chassis from my New Net City's Toshiba PF D29C051 monitor so that I can clean it. I walk through all of the cables that need to be disconnected prior to removing the chassis from the monitor as well as the cables that need to be disconnected in order to remove the monitor from the frame.

Thank you for this, I was able to figure out the pin out for the high-impedience (aka 15 KHz) video connector 1 - Red 2 - Green 3 - Blue 4 - Sync 5 - Ground 6 - NC 7 - Degauss 8 - Degauss

I was just coming back in here to comment that the stray two-wires harness at 4:00 were in fact for the degauss button in the control panel area. Interesting that this is necessary, since the remote board also has a degauss button, but perhaps some of the other monitors found on these Naomi style cabinets did not have degauss included on their remote boards.

Hi Mike! I wonder how often Astro City/Candy cabs become available in North America. I wonder also if it's worth importing one from Japan or I should probably wait for a listing somewhere in our continent hahaha. By the way, have you tried the service menu on your Trinitron yet? ;)

They do not come up very often. I purchased one New Net City from a guy in Chicago, and the other NNC and Astro came from an importer named Matt Cloer who does business out on the East Coast. As for the Trinitron, I did go into the menu and adjust a few things, but I've decided to hold off on messing with any advanced geometry settings until I've re-capped the deflection board, otherwise I may have to do it all over again.

Got a new net city myself that im experiencing issues with. The picture is shifted to the right quite a bit, and the down button on the remote board doesnt function, neither does the reset option in the menu. Is there a secret way of resetting?

I'm not sure what you're asking. That cable appears to be connected in the image you've linked. I believe that's the high-impedance JAMMA video input.
