Well, this video was intended for those that tryout everything and nothing worked, I understand that theres a lot of concerns over not messing with the BMS and all but Ive done this to a couple of scooters now and haven't had any problems and its been more then 2 years now and still running and charging and riding them to school, work and out for a ride out town. No issues or problems.
If you have this issue then just revert to an older BMS version and it works most likely again. Had this issue on mine (after an firmware update) when using more than 20A and accelerating suddenly. It was on BMS Version 1.5.6 I reversed to 1.3.4 and it goes up to 65A without an issue now. Might work with other versions too but I stuck with it.
@@E-supermoto was some time ago, I think I did it with shu, same tool as you use to flash the normal firmware, it even lists you the different versions for flashing. Just beware that depending on how new the scooter is there might be limitations imposed by ninebot
thanks for this video! i've got 15 ninebot G30 Max scooters (orig SPIN Rentals) ... SNSC 2.0. from impound yard, i've flashed 4 successfully via ST-Link Flashing method of BMS, ESC, and Dashboard BLE... however, all of the remaining Batteries- although the LEDs flash Blue, i cannot get them to connect in software STVP, in order to flash the old BMS 1.3.6. despite good soldering skills, still no luck connecting. i'm gonna try this bypass myself, to hopefully get these batteries working. thanks again!
Hi, the video was meant to show how to bypass the BMS that the scooter rentals blocked 🚫 so you can't use the scooter, I've had this scooter running like that with the bypass over 3 years and it still running and had no issues. Glad this video helped you
So I tried using this battery for a project and was facing a 5V reduced output voltage. I bypassed the BMS like this but used a fuse and get full voltage now. I think that should be done at least as the BMS protection features for the output are bypassed as well... 42V/very high current is no joke... and also over discharging needs to be avoided due to the missing cutoff...
Most controllers have built-in lvc so no need to worry never had trouble with mine i did test it for the 1st few times tho just to make sure it cut off at the right voltage
Hello Friend. Please tell me whether the short circuit protection will work with this kind of bypass of the BMS? upd: Did my research on the BMS board - This bypass removes short circuit protection... On the other hand, you can get more output power. =/
I have a scooter it's called a hover one journey. I'm having the same issue with my negative wire. The positive and negative wire doesn't show any current coming out of it but if I put the multimeter on the hot wire and touch it to the Post on the negative side of the battery it shows the voltage that I have in my battery but if I put the negative lead from the multi-tool on the black wire and hook it up to the positive lead on the battery there's no reading. Anyways my black wire has no power coming out
Bypassing the BMS is Never a good idea. It's there to protect the batteries and prevent Fires which can easily happen under the right conditions with Lithium Batteries. Changing the version of BMS firmware is a much safer effective way.
If you use a different controller like a vesc you need to bypass it. Aslong as you not go over 30Amps you should be fine. I currently got a vesc build in and since it still takes 1-2 months until i get the cells for my battery i bypass it.
This "solution" is no good for number of reasons. In this case, if your battery have not stock sofware inside of the bms you need to restore it with st-link. Right now bms will not turn off in case of low voltage, cells falure, or FET falure. In previous vid you said what you changed a battery, what kind of battery did you used? it was not been a regular g30 retail pack.
Hi yeah, it wasn't a retail battery from ninebot max g30, got it from Ebay for $40 dollars, I think it's from those rent scooters, also bought some controllers too and they are bond to someone else, the dashboards are generic too but still got everything working by using Scooterhacking Utility.
@@chuyramirez3731 i just checked the voltage of each cell on both packs, there all balanced fine. no voltage issues. i think its the charge controller limiting to 10amp output
@@fourknotsnowhere check your controller, when I did mine the voltage was fine and been riding the scooter and no issues, the bypass should only make the scooter run, no voltage change or making the scooter faster. You might need to check on the controller 🤔
3 years and still running, to work and back home with no issues, plus this video is intended for those with rental scooters that tried everything and want to use these battery packs so far no one has said otherwise.
Me puedes ayudar.
Me ayudarías?
Hi again. I bypassed the bms as per your video and it worked for two days but now again it started with the same problem, showing E5 error code on display and shutting off. Also, it was discharging the battery very quickly, much quicker than usual (battety type is 36v 15ah). Should I go back to connect the scooter negative to the bms, and can you please help me to diagnose the problem as when I measure the power of the battery it shows between 37-39.5v, which means there is nothing wrong with the batteries, right? Is there anything else that forces the bms to shut off my electric scooter. Thank you for your support and your kind understanding.
Hi. That's odd. You could and just downgrade the bms that will usually work as well. Sorry to hear that issue, but my scooter that I did the bypass is still running and with no issues and plus everyone that has done it too are still good. Maybe you probably cut the wrong negative wire or something, doble check.
@@chuyramirez3731 Thank you for your reply my friend. No, I cut the B- and the P- from the BMS and connected them together and bypassed it, and as said above worked for two days although it discharged the battery faster than usual, and finally it started to do have tge same error code and signs again. I guess it must be something else that us causing the bms to shut off the scooter. By the way, is there any app or how to downgrade the bms? Thank you so much for your support

Man , i sugest to delete this video before more people se it and before is to late . Basically you cut out the over voltage , under voltage protection , and that is veery dangerous. Buy a new bms and redo that battery . Seriously .
Cant seem to find a diagram with a standard bms ,the harness wires has a looped wire so with a standard one it dont have it so im guessing its why ive burned the last bms ive tried.i gotta say i have this bypass on another bike and it shuts off when battery is empty but i always keep a eye on it when charging ,any help with a diagram would be appreciated 👍
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2JC2tNeE3BI.html This video discusses a generic BMS replacement that likely keeps all the safety features active. (And he has a LOT of G30 batteries.) Not sure if having no BMS plugged into the ESC if the scooter will still run...? Haven't tried it.
This video is made for those that have tried everything to make these rental scooters run, BMS on these batteries that came with these scooters are made different from the regular stock batteries, downgrade the BMS sometimes won't work, you have to this bypass
Hi friend. I have the same problem with my scooter which is ifentical to g30 max and replaced the bms but still it is turning off after 5-10sec. Can you please tell me how to flash the battery so I won't need to bypass it. Thank you for your help!
@@chuyramirez3731 Hello my friend, Thank you for your reply, and for your support. Can you please explain to me, as I am a newbie in electric scooters, what do you mean by downgrading the BMS? Thank you very much fir your time and cooperation. Best regards, Avni
And by the way I installed the same power BMS as my previous BMS, which was 10s 36v 15a BMS which my scooter had it installed before replacing it with a same power type of BMS
