Watch the video and see for yourself. That was after about a 45 minute commute with Radio and Google Play Music on the entire time... lots of volume, lots of bass... Facebook, Gmail, etc... so what i am saying is it was being used. It was also connected to wifi and bluetooth during that entire period of time.
I don't feel like it's running hot... but curious about others who say that theirs is.

Mine doesn't get hot, but if the external temperature goes over 70 (21 C) the unit constantly reboots, or won't turn on. Go figure!

Is normal this temperature or. Not? Me to I have install navigation and is too heated

Dude you can check the internal chip temperature right on the unit. what I'm concerned about is it's getting up to 175° on the reading of the head unit and it's only freaking 35° outside

I'm glad you decided to do this test but if you want to do temp check on something...play music at a normal listening volume for just 10-15 minutes then aim that thing right at the dust cap on your speakers and/or sub if you have one to get reading on voice coils. Generally a well tuned system w/o clipping should generally give you a reading in mid 80's-90° and that's at extended listening time. I'm willing to bet you'll get readings in high 90's - 100°+ withing 10-15 min, which is way too hot & if it doesn't fry your voice coil first then heat will demagnetize the driver...just reinforces what I've been trying to warn people of, this unit is a clipped signal playing,, dirty distortion speaker killer.

Interesting. Thanks. Different type of temp testing than I was doing, but I didn't know you could test the speaker temps like that. I will definitely try that. How much does ambient temp come into play? IE its mid 80s here today....

OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps Shouldn't make much of difference, best bet is to take cold reading prior to playing. If you played speakers "free air" you'd actually smell the voice coils and adhesive used to adhere cone & spider to basket start to stink. I hate having to reveal to people the cons of this unit because it's usually misconstrued & turns into "I'm a hater". I'm just a mobile audio geek trying to tell people that their speakers may be in jeopardy. There are work arounds & simple solutions such DAC's & DSP's to clean up the signal

That is such a bad way to check the temperature of the unit the whole thing that you'd be concerned about is the chips inside that's what will be affected by temperature the most
