Just a QUICK 5 MIN video showing some differences I found while I had them for a couple days. I think I like the Compass Alpinist a bit more but both are great. Please add your own differences or similarities that I didn't mention as a reference for people. Thanks. -FALLING😁
Great video, thank you. I prefer the more simplistic look of the NC Alpinist with the black dial. It has a lot of Explorer vibe plus a date which is important for me.
Great video. I am in love with these two watches but I think at the end I am going to choose the one with the green face. such and elegant, imponent watch!
Wow, thanks for the in depth measurements. I was under the impression that the new one was just the difference between having a crown guard and not, but the 38/39.5 isn't even that measurement. Very interesting! The Alpinist at 39.5 is barely at the bottom end of the sizing I like, so I probably wouldn't care for the new one on my wrist. It's still a great release for smaller wristed people though! I think I'd have preferred if the new gray one had a red tip to the seconds hand, but that's being nitpicky.
Great video and comparison. I’m debating adding a NC to my collection. I’ve got the Sarb017 as well as the new black dial and cream dial with gold hands compass Alpinists and really like them. Thanks for the great video! 👍
@@jhonezcronic I have the brown dial NC Alpinist SPB211J1 and I think I paid about $850 CDN for it and i have to say it’s worth every penny. The new Seikos are very well made and the 6R35 movement is excellent.
I have a SNK807 which at 37mm is too small for me. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on the new Alpinist but I'm a bit worried that it will also be too small at 38mm. What do you reckon?
@@EscapementWatch My wrist is 19cm/7.4 inches. It's so hard to judge without trying something on in person. I suppose I could take a chance and in worst case send it back. Have you come across the TicTac special edition in green? It looks nice and is 40mm. Thanks for your help.👍
compass is the thing that gives depth to "real" alpinist. it doesn't need to be really used. we usually don't use the divers' bezel, as well. "vibes" is the key word here. besides, the second crown is visually important, while we like choronographs for part of their cool 3 crowns. nevertheless, baby alpinists are beautiful, for sure, but as a field watch. real alpinist is a watch on its own. therefore it is able to compete with big bros, like oyster or aqua terra.
