I think you're the first reviewer of the MM300 who has actually dived with the watch. Nice!
@mr.ethings1545

Well I have never seen another diver with one that is for sure! I met a guy on a dive that told me he had one but left it at home hahah. Thanks for watching! I just posted a video about how divers use their dive watches using the MarineMaster! You should check it out if you want! I hope you like it!

@@mr.ethings1545 What is the most common watch or brand you've seen on dives?
@mr.ethings1545

@@pistolpete023 Honestly, I havent seen many divers wearing watches as the trend seems to be wearing Dive Computers that can double as wrist watches. The machanical watch that I see most often though are Seiko SKXs for sure. Most of the people that work the dive boats usually wear casio/gshocks as well.

hahahaha .... 90% of prospex diver watches, never been used for diving, some staying inside box only

If I had one of these, I'd take it off when I washed my hand. So it doesn't get wet. And in fact sea salt or chlorine from the pool can dry out the sealing ring after a lot of use.@@Abdullah-ou7bp

I much prefer pin and collar. You are only going to adjust the bracelet once. It’s more secure and more integrated with the bracelet. Screws are a pain, can get stripped, can come loose, and look stupid.

The blue version is really nice too! I noticed that too on the new watch they added a lumed marker at the 3'o'clock, but I also noticed that the marker is pushed into the chapter ring so it makes the watch look less balanced but its nice to see Seiko trying to improve their designs!

I've come full circle and added an SLA023 to my collection, with the updated shoehorned, 3 o'clock lume pip. Still in the honeymoon phase, but I feel like it entered my collection at the right time. Awesome review. I'm a SLA021J1 owner as well. I have some wounds on my watch that the diashield was unable to protect. It takes a beating. My watch runs about 6 seconds fast per day. I leave it crown up to settle at a flat 0. Its very impressive on the timegrapher. On par with my swiss watches. Hopefully in a few more years I'll send it off for a servicing.

Hey! Ya i was surprised when i saw that! But as the date window hasn't moved, the index has been pushed into the chapter ring making the watch look unbalanced but in the light and in the dark. Having seen the other option, i prefer the way it was done on my MM300. I was initially pretty excited about that though!
@mmcallery

I see your also a little bit of a mechanical keyboard enthusiast as well! In regards to a fully indexed bezel, its almost a must for me. why should the accuracy of me readings suddenly drop off at the 15/20 min mark? i can forgive it in cheaper/beater watches though
@mr.ethings1545
@mr.ethings1545 3 года назад
Agreed! I would say that according to Navy dive tables, used to determine bottom time before dive computers, on your first dive you max bottom time at 30 meters would be no more than 20 minutes, so I guess they only felt like they only needed the first 20 min. That is just me trying to justify why they did it that way but IMHO i prefer a fully indexed bezel! And also ya mechanical keyboards are cool hahah

@Kevins-Philippine-Retirement
Good review thanks. As for Seiko bracelets, providing they are well designed and high quality materials, I would trust the pin and collar before the screw pins with those skimpy little threads. Also, again, with properly quality in construction and materials, stamped buckles are stronger.

Thanks in advance!
@mr.ethings1545
@mr.ethings1545 Год назад
@@bradd5961 Youre very welcome! I am glad I can be of some help! Yes the newest model of the 300 now has a lume marker at the 3'o'clock position. I know I mentioned wanting to have a lume marker at the 3'o'clock but i actually prefer my version (without the marker at 3). Although the newest version has a lumed marker at the 3 they no longer put the classic white border around the date window. Also if you look carefully the Lumed marker at the 3 actually is eating into the chapter ring leading the whole thing to look a little unbalanced and not as classically handsome as the previous models. Just my 2 cents! Im sure you will find a way to enjoy either model!

I really love Omega for their inovation and build quality as well! I think the technology that they develop make their watches technically better than rolex. It is pricy, I bought a Padi Edition Turtle and then Modded it, then a solar tuna, then a citizen, before finally just biting the bullet for the MM300. It is still the most expensive watch I have ever bought. If I could do it over again, I would have not bothered with the cheaper watches and just saved for the one that I wanted, the MM300. As I still wear the MM300 all the other watches collect dust. So in the end I ended up spending more money! If youre looking for value and quality, I go between my Marathon MSAR and the Marine Master300. The marathon is cheaper but still awesome!
@ji1787
@ji1787 3 года назад
the lowest i went in water was my bathtub :D. i dunno, my heart tells me to buy the MM, but my brain tells to go maximum Longines Hydro Ceramic. - i also love the Prospex LX but that is even way higher price. i love Seiko 'cause they make tOOl watches, not fancy watches like the Seamaster. i admit, it is a great watch, the Bond watch, but i wanna be the one who differs ...
@mr.ethings1545
@mr.ethings1545 3 года назад
@@ji1787 oh between all those choice, the MM300 is the easy choice. I dont like the hands on the Conquests. Especially in the dark, the hour hand is just that floatin diamond, and also I dont like the design of the crown. The Propex LX is an impressive bit of engineering but personally I like the subtle tick of a mechanical watch. Also the size of the LX and its crown through the whole watch off. If you were to go for the LX i would rather you wend with one of the Grand Seiko Divers. In the end the MM300 is an amazing watch especiallyy when you pair it with a strapcode bracellet. I think you can also get second hand MM300 and a steap discount!

It’s worth considering that Seiko can usually be picked up with a discount- which is less possible with omega and Tudor. I got 33% off a nearly new mm300/sla023 which makes it cheaper than a Doxa or Sinn. Whilst they’re both nice watches the Seiko is more special to me and also more versatile. The only watch in the similar price range I would pick over the mm300 is a Tudor bb58… but my wife knows how much tudors cost so it’s easier for me to get an mm300 and pretend it cost £500/$450 😄😄
